I'm not a huge SG fan, liked the movie, would watch an episode if nothing else was on...

I went to Comic-Con and while I was waiting for the Caprica panel (THIRD ROW! : D ), I was in the auditorium where these guys were talking.... really got me interested, especially from the trailer, and I actually forgot about it, until I saw it on Hulu.

Gave it a whirl, and was hooked.

I was wondering when someone would post about this. Here and at Heavengames.

Anyways, I'm interested in the series, I like the camera angles and everything. Very BSG.

But I do think it's too early to think it's perfect. It's interesting, but it's too early to call it awesome.

lol, the background isn't actually black. EDIT: unfair, it turned black just for my post!
But thanks for posting on how to collapse things, I keep forgetting. :D

I don't really like stargate much, although I saw a funny episode of Atlantis where two people got trapped in the same body after an accident with a wraith ship. That's old, so I'm not spoilerating it.

I think I saw commercials for SG:U and didn't like the sound of it. Something about the end of the universe and "more powerful than we ever imagined". That kind of stuff got old after about 5 episodes of Xiaolin Showdown. :P

It's basically BSG-Gate. "Darker, edgier, and sexier." :p

Carlyle is pretty good, though.

Yeah, when they introduced the catholic side of the SGT I was a little like, pleeeaaaase do not add anything religious to the plot line, otherwise it would've ruined it for me. (BSG was just right)

Does anyone get Adama flashbacks when they hear Colonel Young speaking? Seriously... it's that same gruff, gravelly voice. :p

And what the hell is O'Neill doing in the Icarus uniform? Shouldn't he have Air Force blues or something? Or did they decide that he wasn't worth the dry-cleaning on the real uniform for guest appearances?

One: Lt. Scott is my boy toy. two: seeing Daniel on an info training vid cracked me up to no end. three: can anyone tell me why the ship looks like a... um... you know.

anyway, i like this series, its better than atlantis and after watching so much SG1 over the past years, i thought it was refreshing. even if they're trying to make it look like BSG...WAY TOO MUCH

More like one of those death-pendulum things you find in every Tomb of Horrors knock-off ever made.

A lot of the dramatic tension of a "stranded on a decrepit old ship" scenario vanishes when the decrepit old ship

1) Manages to aid and rescue everyone just in time, and even repair it's own problems that fifteen minutes earlier were insurmountable.
2) Acts as a carrier for a shitty green aesop at every chance.

Okay... I know this thread hasn't been posted in for a while, but I have to say... "Time" is the darkest television episode I have seen ever.

Everyone died... AT LEAST TWICE!

Quite gruesomely, too. Didn't Greer get eaten by like, four of those snake-eel things the first time?

I only saw one... but Eli got chewed up the first time through. And the scary thought... how many more times did it happen?

Easily five times I would think. Either that or it's done now. Since the next episode goes back to Earth and everything. So they might have survived the event.

When they were holding out in the cave the first time, when Greer goes down you can see nearly half a dozen of the creatures burrowing into his chest-ohgodwhatamIsayingIthinkI'mgonnapuke...

He'll probably figure it out... question is, though, can Young fix the damage?

I've been surbmerged in Star Trek lore for the last few months, watching TNG, VOY, and DS9 as much as possible, and I thought the most gruesome and surprising thing I've seen, was when Picard and Ricard PHASERED this Lt. (his body exploded and a mother parasite creature emerged screaming, then they shot that, and IT exploded).... I was surprised, all the while, the guy's body is just vaporized from the hips up.

btw, EXCITED FOR Star Trek ONLINE????
