Outside of the temple saw his fighter. She had carried him through a few scrapes here and there. Her paint had faded some and scoring still marked his port side wing where Kyp had a close call. Kyp bounced up the yellow boarding ladder and hopped into the seat. Kyp detached the ladder and started the A-Wing up. Systems and lights started to come back to life for the first time in a few months. "A quick systems check and we'll be outta here," Kyp muttered to himself. Kyp connected all the arms of the five point harness that kept him securely glued to his seat. Each systems lights winked on with a familiar emerald green. "Good to go," Kyp flipped on his vertical stabilizers and lifted the nimble craft off the swamp floor before thrusting the throttle forward and accelerating towards the hyperpoint.

The Vigilance piloted by Kyp Durron is en-route to Kuat.

"Republic fighter, inbound." one of the officer's stated.

Not worried, as a squad of TIE interceptors had already been launched, the shift manager sent the standard greeting:

"Welcome to the Kuat System! Unfortunately our sensor networks have not connected your ship identification number to a corresponding approved arrival number. We ask that you power down all non-essential systems, and wait to be escorted at sublight speed to the visitors hangar. Thank you, and fly responsibly."

Six TIE contacts popped up on his targeting computer. Kyp lowered his speed down to thirty MGLT and powered down his weapon systems. He wasn't here to start up a fight. Kyp wasn't sure if he'd win or not. Likely the latter of the two. The TIE's pulled to his port and starboard wings and escorted him into the system.

Years ago, Kyp would have been bending over and kissing his ass good. Today was simply a business call. The Vigilance was pretty battered. Here he may be able to have her looked over. Last thing Kyp wanted was for her to mess up all the way out in the Outer Rim.

Kyp watched as the TIE tore away as he neared the visitors hangar. Kyp had little to no experience with Kuat's type of people. He was a Jedi and owned little. Not only were they rich but Imperial. Neither sat well with Kyp. Kyp flipped on the vertical stabilizers and pulled the A-Wing into a spot near the rear of the hangar. He flipped off the essentials and hopped out of the Vigilance. "Here goes nothing."

continuing post from Pallanén-Davad Estate - Kuat City - Kuat

Kyp strode out to the landing pad to an awaiting shuttle, ready to take whoever, wherever they needed. Shoving the last of the food into his mouth he confidently walked up the boarding ramp and to the cockpit. The pilot inside turned to see Kyp's form standing over his own. Kyp cocked a sheepish grin, "I need to head up to Kuat Drive Yards."

The pilot looked away and began flipping switches, "I'll have you up there in no time." The shuttle rumbled to life and lifted off the pad going straight vertical for a few meters before jetting forward. Kyp was caught off guard but luckily had kept a firm grip on the bulkhead.

The shuttle carrying himself and the two pilots pitched into and through the Kuati traffic aiming itself towards the ring of stations that floated in orbit above the planets equator. Kuat's Drive Yards were the most prized in the whole galaxy. Mon Calamari had it's fair share but paled in comparison. Kyp thought back to the battle of Mon Calamari. He himself had been one of fighters to score a hit on the Knight Hammer. Daala met her end in a fiery blaze, just as she had deserved.

The daydream helped in the wait and before Kyp knew it the ship was entering the same hangar he had landed in twenty four hours earlier. Kyp slid back to the cockpit and handed the co-pliot the dishes. "Take those back to the estate," he said as he bounded off the shuttle and went towards the only A-Wing in the entire hangar.

A man who stood nearly as tall as Kyp was propped up on the bright yellow boarding ladder. As Kyp approached he stepped back and motioned for him to come over. "Jedi, eh? Well I hope you appreciate all the hard work I had to put into this puppy to get 'er runnin' again," he said as Kyp eyed the exterior. "We had to completely replace the stabilizing wings and the fire control systems. We also replaced all the old systems with up to date ones. I shou-"

Kyp cut in coming around the back of his ship, "What the hell did you do to her sublight engines?" he said as he felt a tinge of anger well up inside him.

"Oh yeah, we replaced them with twin ion engines. Same size but WAY more output."

Kyp looked over at the man and was about ready to rip his head off. "You're telling me that you turned the greatest fighter the New Republic ever produced into a god damned TIE?"

"Uhhh yep that's about right," he replied.

Kyp shook his head and with an exhale opened the cargo space and threw the bag in. The Vigilance was a flying monstrosity now. Kyp couldn't believe it as he went towards the boarding ladder. It was too late to complain now.

"Watch out now. She's got a little kick now and then some. I hope you know how to handle all that speed," he said getting ready to turn and leave. Nearly at the top Kyp saw a bulbous object protruding out of the top of his ship.

"What the hell is that?" he said turning while still on the ladder.

"Don't worry, that's just the added power supply. You didn't think all that power going to the engines was from thin air now did jah?"

Kyp turned away and hopped into the awaiting cockpit. Inside the controls were now clean with all new switches and even a new stick. "God damnit. All I wanted was a little new paint and maybe a new seat but nooooo they have go and turn my ship into a god forsaken TIE." Kyp mumbled to himself as he closed and sealed the cockpit.

Kyp flipped on the conveniently marked switches and slowly edged his way out of the orbital hangar. Once out Kyp kept the Vigilance at port speed till he reached the hyperpoint. Once in position Kyp threw on the reverse thrusters to bring the A-Wing to a halt. "Don't keep me waiting in this piece of junk."

Kyp Durron and the Vigilance are en-route to Nal Hutta with the Blight Leaper.

Kyp trudged back into the hangar from which he landed. The Vigilance still stood as serene as when he had left her. Kyp circled her once and returned to the cargo compartment at the rear to snag a change in robes from the bag he had hastily thrown in on Kuat. Not bothering with decency Kyp stripped all the layers of his clothing down to his skin. Even at forty six Kyp kept a athletic form through all the years of being a Jedi. One couldn't afford to be "out of shape" in his profession. Kyp slid as quickly as he could back into his clothing making sure to look around for any prying eyes. With all his robes changed Kyp threw everything back into the small cargo hold.

Using the force Kyp opened the cockpit, while disengaging all the safeties, and hopped in. With all his parts still ticking Kyp was happy to be departing Nal Hutta. He had no plans on a return visit. Overhead the Blight Leaper left her hangar and proceeded out towards the hyperpoint. Kyp eased the Vigilance out and programmed his flight control systems to follow the Blight Leaper, linking them in with SAMM. With all the bases covered Kyp slouched in his seat and fell asleep.

The Vigilance is en-route to Denon.

Kyp shifted his weight around in the seat of the Vigilance. Even with the seat reclined it at most gave him a few more inches of space. All around him stars and space zipped past. On his flank was the Blight Leaper. With all the activity outside of his cockpit, only the stirring of his own body made any noise in the eerie quiet. Somewhere off in his sub-conscious Kyp dreamed of the watery world of his birth. All the times spent with his parents and brother. All those simple and easy times. But out of it all Kyp only had a few good memories. Most of the others involved death and destruction at the hands of the Empire.

Kyp sometimes wondered if he was all that was left of Deyer. Most of it's population was forced into service or enslaved. The first being the option forced upon his brother and the lattter his own punishment. Deyer had spoke out against the destruction of Alderaan and then was subsequently snuffed out. Often through his travels Kyp thought of Zeth and the possibility that he was still alive. After all the years of being a Jedi he had never searched for him. Never thought to find who his own brother had become. Was he alive? Had he grown into a good man?

Kyp awoke from his slumber and wiped away the drowsiness as best he could and opened up a small ration that he had tucked away in the folds of the seat. Kyp quickly devoured the ration and sat back preparing for exit to Denon. Time and fate had given him something to do. He was lucky to be around to help the crew of the Blight Leaper. No matter the measure of help he could give them he had his own affairs much like Tseneca and some of the others. Selflessness had to make room for personal matters every-once-ina-while.

Adjusting himself and strapping back in Kyp eased the Vigilance out of hyperspace. Ahead a planet akin to Coruscant shone in the sun. Kyp could only hope that their fortunes would be greater here than at Nal Hutta.

Disregard Zeth, he's definitely dead. Just wasn't sure on Kyp history in this RP at the time this was posted.

Kyp Durron and the Vigilance are now at Denon.

Kyp stood over the Vigilance and smiled. He was glad she had been well taken care of in their time apart. As expected the tracking device was still active and firmly held in place in the hollow of the landing gear. Surely his hunter had not forgotten their encounters.

He opened the small cargo compartment and crammed his heavy bag into it. The Jedi Temple had not helped his anxiety. He needed away to search for answers. He had to clear his mind. It seemed like a fools hope but maybe his home would hold some answers.

The way things had turned out he was glad the crew had left without him. He was in no condition to worry about other people. His own mind and body seemed to work against him. They didn't need to see him in the state he was in, especially Tseneca. A potential padawan didn't need to see a Master in a conflicted state.

Kyp opened the cockpit and climbed inside the cramped quarters once again. Like many times before he instantly found himself at home. All the system checks and procedures were as second nature to him as breathing. "Temple control, Jedi Master Kyp Durron requesting to depart."

As usual the controller was quick to reply, "Granted, Master Durron. Have a safe trip."
