Well, I finally saw the encore tonight. Had to miss it Tuesday due to a bad cold and having to be up at six in the morning Wednesday for a class (which, ultimately, I didn't go to because I felt so lousy). AFTER THIS, THERE BE SPOILERS IN THE OP!

============================================
AVERT THY EYES, YE WARY OF SPOILERS
============================================
So, anyway... Kiva's capped, Telford lives, we have some Lucian folks on the ship as kinda badass take on the Maquis from Voyager... and the baby is gone. Obviously, they left it ambiguous as to the nature of TJ's experience, ending the episode with her sad smile as she saw the nebula. Personally, I think it was a hallucination to help her cope. At least, that's how I'd write it... but again, actually shooting an unborn child and just smacking the audience upside the with that...

Still, a good episode. I'm glad they did wrap things up. Some of the cliffhangers were obvious: Scott and Greer were going to make it (though, an interesting twist at the beginning). I noticed very effective use of lighting and expressions on TJ and Chloe to make them look physically aged without... well, being physically aged. :p Although, WTF happened to Chloe's leg? She was bleeding out. Now she just has a little pink scab? Perhaps the blueberry aliens did something to her? Radiation (highly unlikely, given the relatively hard sci-fi approach SGU is taking)? Or the alleged benevolent aliens that supposedly rescued TJ's baby? And what will become of the Lucian Alliance personnel? Slow earning of trust, obligatory rebellion episode, and then more trust-building? Will Young put them off the ship? What about the supply situation on board? Where are they getting bullets? I find it hard to believe an ancient Ancient vessel carries NATO-standard ammunition fabrication equipment. :p

On another note, without the baby to tie him to TJ and Telford "cured" of his brainwashing, will Young try once more to patch things up with the wife? Will Telford back him? What will Telford do now that he's on Destiny and it was supposed to be his mission?

So many questions... :(

SPOILERS: From the trailer we know that Chloe's going to get some kind of alien growth on her leg (Right on the spot she was shot, no less), so it could be some kind of retrovirus or disease or something. Though I can't imagine why a disease would want to make someone healthier before it started killing them-

*glances at Wraith*

Oh, Chloe's so FRAKKED. O_O

...My God.... Young just smothered Riley. :(

I can't think of a worse way...

Well, a bullet also would've made everyone come running... "OMFG GOD, COLONEL! WHAT DID YOU DO?! YOU LUNATIC!" But yeah, if it were me... jeez. :?

So, we now have two episodes that end with Young crying and drinking. Who's next?

Seriously, who else is expecting Young to lose an eye at some point and go around with a patch? Just how BSG-y are they trying to make this? :P

On a more somber note, the bastards killed Riley. :( As in my favorite B-list character.

Greer's got the haircut and attitude to pull that off. :p

But it's a bit... odd, how Telford and Young almost immediately went back to cold shoulders. :?

EDIT:
Quote:
Riley is in a lot of pain, and states that he would ask Young for his gun if he didn't think the crew would blame him for the results. Instead, he pins his own hand. Taking Riley's cue, Young quietly suffocates him. He informs the team that Riley has passed away.

I missed some of the dialog... but it adds up better now. I still don't quite understand the significance of pinning his hand, other than to prevent himself from resisting.

I liked this episode, but I have to ask...

Why the *REDACTED* didn't the aliens just kill Chloe and Scott?

I can't watch the episodes now, Hulu isn't allowed in Italy, and Syfy.com has copyright issues internationally. lol.

I have found a way around that, but hulu's defenses are too great. :(

But, they cancelled the show. Can't believe it. :(

Meh. I'm not sure you're gonna be missing much. The last episode was actually shockingly pie-in-the-sky for SGU.

Just like anything good on TV.

Firefly, Jericho, SGU and so many more. It's a lot like the TV companies give us fans a coin. We pass it along to others and then we really, really enjoy it. Then the TV companies want to have fun with us so then we find out the coin has a string on it and they yank the glorious coin that is awesome TV out of our hands just for laughs.

(By the way, Alex, I'm trying with all my might to get a post with Sara, anyway you could get in a reply so I could post? If nothing can be done maybe Sara could just follow the comlink's signal to wherever the Leapers are {Aside from Lucas atm}, in fact that might work for me)

Been a while, actually. But it's pretty much the only thing that could make them more miserable. :p

...Actually, I guess if Young's (is she ex yet?) wife were somehow beamed aboard... the sheer angst there would vaporize the Destiny.

So, Rush gets his Emily Alexander expy for mind-sex, Eli gets Ginn for mind-sex... and Chloe's fine and back to normal for romping with Matt. And Volker's got a nice, new kidney while Greer might have an infection (GEE I WONDER WHERE THEY'LL GO WITH THAT? :p)... and they defused the bomb, Washington is safe (like they'd really blow it up), previous-timeline-Telford is all smiles and off the ship so we don't have to pay Lou Diamond Phillips for every episode...

And McKay and Woolsey next week! :D Also, maybe Jonas Quinn. And only a handful of episodes left.

Man, Jonas is going to be pissed if the SGC accidentally blows up Langara just to send Destiny a care package.

"Look, I know your people are dead and everything, but at least they got those cookies we sent them...right?"

Well, that was an unmitigated disappointment. They should've at least had a little two minute epilogue...

Agreed. I think it leaves room if SyFy decides to put the series back on, which I doubt, but cool nonetheless.

Sighhhh. It was a fun show to watch. I think they just got a little distracted in the second season, they had a bunch of standalone episodes, versus keeping us guessing... if that makes sense?
