Felucia
Quote:

Felucia (pronounced /fʌ'luʃə/ or /fʌ'lusiə/), originally known as Galuch, was a fungus-covered, fairly inhospitable planet between Thanium and Mossak, and located near the Perlemian Trade Route.

Felucia had a diversity of bizarre plants, fungi, and animals which were almost rubber-like and translucent, as well as enormous Pitchers. When the sun shone, the environment glittered like multicolored glass. Most of Felucia was entirely covered by a humid, fetid landscape of huge fungal forests, and its wildlife included native gelagrubs, immigrated acklays, and a prodigious sarlacc. Felucia had strong ties to the Living Force, and as such the world's flora and fauna, including Felucians, could be influenced by a presence of a strong Force-user, both light and dark. Most plants and animals of Felucia have adapted special defenses to protect them from each other, which made them particularly hostile to the off-worlders.

Sara sweated in the humid temperature of Felucia as she pitched the tents with Dex while Firi collected firewood, and Alisson and Jonas plotting a path on a map to where the medicine Alisson needed could be found. After fussing with the tent for a few minutes, she peered inside the built tent, throwing a pair of sleeping bags inside for two people could sleep in each of the three tents: Alisson in one, Firi and Dex in another and—She quickly decided to stay on watch next to the fire. That wasn’t a comforting thought, they barely knew each other and they would have to share a tent together. That would frak things up before they even started.
They needed someone to keep watch anyways, and she was probably qualified to do so with her knowledge of wildlife, having spent two years on Kashyyyk, having to learn to adapt constantly and watch and listen to the world around her.

Sara stretched her bent back, peering at the sky above her. Tinted a blackish-green against the coming starlight and the green terrain. She turned her head to the rest of the group, Dex had finished the last tent and went inside to set up his and Firi’s sleeping bags. Sara turned to the tree line and thought she’d check on Firi. She made it to the edge of the clearing when she found Firi returning with as much firewood as she could carry, the random one or two dropping from underneath her arm, but she didn’t bother to pick them up, she kept pacing towards the clearing when she noticed Sara.
“What’s wrong?” Sara asked, stepping forward and picking up the twigs Firi had dropped.

Firi curiously looked behind her, then turned back to Sara, “I just thought I heard something while I was getting firewood.”

“You probably did,” Sara said, not something Firi wanted to hear, but it had to be said to break reality to her, and herself that something could be stalking them all at this very moment, “Get back to camp, I’ll make the fire.” she finished with a reassuring smile.

Firi paced a little more confidently towards the camp, knowing she had Sara watching her back. Sara’s smile washed away as she turned her attention back to the forest that lay before her. Listening to a twig snap somewhere inside, the faint snapping of sharp fingers tapping against armored skin in anticipation. To the dismay and scoff of Sara, they were being stalked.

She didn’t turn her back to the forest, but slowly backed away towards the camp. Watching the tree line for movement.

Jonas couldn't sleep, even though he tried. The thought of some wild animal bursting through the fabric and clawing him to death, kept him up. He stirred, Dex happened to be up as well. Jonas lingered on the idea of giving him another round of ghost-bashing, but decided, the creatures of the night had disturbed him as much as it had him. Firi and Alisson, on the otherhand, seemed to sleep somberly. Their light breathing was actually relaxing, as Jonas caught Sara adding another log to the rather massive fire. Jonas retrieved a water bottle, one infused with energy and minerals, and handed it to her. "Thanks," she said, her voice didn't hint that she was sleepy.

"No problem," It was colder out here, than inside the tent. "Why don't you grab a few hours of sleep, I don't mind taking over for a while." The year spent on Iego had taunt him tricks of the nightwatch. Sara fought with the idea for a while, before Jonas offered her the comfort of his sleeping bag. "Dex can keep me company... besides, I am actually a little..."

"Afraid?" Dex injected, though scoffed. "I'm not afraid, just a little, curious. Don't want to miss anything, you know?" Jonas actually understood. On the contrary, Jonas thought, I do not want to miss the massive snake slipping through a tent, and devouring me alive.

"I'm not afraid either," Jonas manned it up a bit, attempting to mask his own concern for Felucia's known creatures of the dark. The fact they were talking, made it worse. It probably attracted them, so he began to whisper. "Listen, I'm not saying you're wrong, okay. Things are a little freaky out here. Is it a ghost, probably not. But a frakking giant spider..." Sara had twisted the top of the water container, before Jonas snatched it out of her hand. "This is fused with energy. You need the pink one." It would put her out for a couple of hours, and rejuvenate her body in a fraction of the time. "I have this covered, please." He playfully tapped her shoulder, before threatening to pick her up and toss her into the tent.

When Sara left, Jonas tossed a few branches onto the fire, watching Dex disappear into the tent with Firi...

Sara retreated into Jonas’ tent, resting in Jonas’ sleeping bag, it was still warm and comforting, she felt secure in his—her eyes opened slightly, then resolved to move to her own sleeping back. Then laid her head against her pillow. She tossed and turned, waiting for the pink liquid to do it’s job. She was left to think, thinking about the situation she had gotten herself into with joining her friends here on Felucia and the constant distraction to her from Jonas. She couldn’t keep her mind from wandering to him, being curious about the real him underneath. She wanted to get up and ask him the questions she wanted to ask. But as soon as she began to rise, she gently fell back into her sleeping bag. Slowly drifting to sleep, hearing something faintly gurgle next to her tent, snapping claws again, then a quick shuffling of grass as the creature scurried back to the forest from it’s investigation. She couldn’t move, she was foggy and dazed, all she could do was hope it was the liquid talking.

* * *

Sara walked calmly through the forest with her friends, her blaster pointed to every tree as darkness slowly consumed them again. Something snapped behind her and she turned to face it. Nothing. She continued on the path in front of her, but quickly saw that everyone was gone. Her heart pounded, hearing more snapping all around her. She spun, trying to find where it was coming from, then a large six-legged creature stood in front of her in confidence. Sara turned her blaster and fired at the creature’s thick hide, but they only pinged off as it stood still in defiance.

He lifted one of it’s pointed feet into the air, then shot it forward into Sara’s stomach. She looked down, feeling pain as she gasped from shock. The creature’s arm was inside her, pushing it deeper inside. Then she was lifted into the air and thrown against a tree. She was able to look up, just in time to see the creature’s maw encompassing her face.

* * *

“DAH!” Sara exclaimed at the top of her lungs in the new morning light, Jonas quickly rushing in and asking what was wrong.

“Oh oh…” she said as she put a hand to her forehead, “Just—Just a nightmare, I’ll be fine.”

Doesn’t mean we have to start at the morning, you two can post what happens during the night if you want. Just didn’t want to leave a dream with a cliffhanger to her reaction.

Jonas laughed slightly, relieved that she was okay. For a moment, he had feared the worst, that some animal slipped through his watch, and was eating her alive or something. Jonas reached into his bag, after removing the sweatshirt from his body. The mornings were already warm, and he had a feeling, the temperature was about to sky rocket as the day progressed. He removed the T-shirt, his body flexing, as he examined his chest for any kind of insect bites. He didn't see any, and applied a fresh coat of repellent, before sliding a new shirt on. Sara seemed flushed, a point Jonas apologized for, before helping her take the tent down.

When the group had finished, they set out for a day, that would hopefully end with the cure in hand. The fauna was unusually quiet during the morning hours, but the vegetation seemed more alive than ever. Plants basked in the new sunlight, opening and gleaming in all different natural colors. Scents and pollen flushed the air, a soft breeze carrying them to nearby plants that would almost dance at their arrival. Firi was happy here, sparkling under the heat, and hummed something in her native tongue. It was relaxing, the fear pushed slightly aside as they transversed the massive planet.

Alisson seemed to check several plants, her body covered in long fabric, with a small piece of her shirt from yesterday wrapped around her nose, covering the majority of her face. She wouldn't speak, unless the question was direct, and volunteered the least information as possible. Maybe it was her way of coping. Suddenly she froze, her hands extending to the group, all of them stopping in their tracks. Firi's ears perched, twisting to a branch that had cracked to their right. Jonas could hear footsteps, many of them.

What happened next, took place in under a minute.

Blue aliens rushed them, with native weapons consisting of spears and darts. But the worst of it, had been their ability to naturally camouflage into their surroundings. When Jonas went to shoot, the Felucian would disappear, then reappear somewhere else. All they could do, was flee. Their footsteps raced, as Jonas tossed Firi and Dex a glance. "We have to split up. Meet at the campsite." Alisson advised.

"I don't think thats a good idea." Sara said, "We're stronger with numbers."

"We are outnumbered." Firi suggested, the race against time meant she agreed with Alisson, "Dex and I will take another way. Sha'lao mua'a." Jonas had heard this before. It meant Best of luck. They came to a cliff, the blue people close behind as they raced after their human prey. Firi wrapped herself around Dex, her wings folding outwards, and in a spectacular display, she launched herself off the platform. Alisson grabbed Jonas and Sara, ushering them to cliffside. Together, they transversed the cliff, a massive bird, one they had seen earlier, squawked. "Oh no," Jonas whispered, his eyes darting to the disappearing glow as Firi attempted to mask herself. Alisson grabbed him, they didn't have time to figure out if the bird was friend or foe, or if they had even survived.

"Shit shit shit!" Jonas' feet stepped one after another, attempting to keep up with Alisson and Sara. Sara and Alisson were safely across the teetering edge, Alisson disappeared into the brush, as Sara held out her hand. "Come on!" She called, but something bellowed. Jonas froze in his tracks. Everyone in the Outer Rim knew that sound. Jonas raced faster now, his eyes looking into Sara. She understood it, They had made it into the Ancient Abyss.

"Son of a bitch!" Jonas let out, the rocks under his feet caving, and crumbling downwards. Giant mushrooms swayed as the beast growled, begging for Jonas to misstep. His eyes looked frantically, the slimy mush difficult to grab ahold of. "Sara. They are close, I know it. Please. You need to get ahold of Lucas. I've heard stories. We need a Jedi."

"What?" Sara looked at him, her eyes scanned his expression, "No. Jonas!" He tossed his body towards her, making a final attempt as his arms wrapped around the edge. Sara tried to heave him upwards, but one of the tendrils grabbed onto his torso, yanking viciously to snag him. "Jonas, frak. Don't let go of me. I can do this," Sara frantically removed her blaster, targeting the creature. By this time, hoots and hollers of the Felucian blue race emerged. It was then Jonas realized he had become the entertainment of an entire city, sprawling across the belly of the demon. "Shut up!" Sara yelled at them, Jonas tried feebly to pull himself upwards, but another tentacle latched onto him, yanking him with force.

The Felucians who had traced them along the cliffs, were close now, the city hollering in madness of joy and triumph as their soldiers closed in on Sara. Jonas looked at her, "Find the cure. Get Lucas. Save me." Jonas pleaded, and in a slow motion hurdle, he released himself from Sara's grasp. He could feel the air squeezed from his lungs as the tentacles hurdled him downwards. He heard the chants of the Felucians, and the scream Sara let out. Their eyes met for one last time, before she disappeared, her feet carrying her at the best speeds, Felucians behind her. Jonas fumbled with the blaster, firing several shots, two striking Sara's chasers, before he felt it.

The mouth of the demon. Jonas screamed, sliding into the underground belly of the creature. He landed hard, the massive stomach engulfing him...

The Sarlacc.

Sara rushed through the foliage as she followed Alisson in their escape from the Felucians, temporarily distracted by the show of Jonas being devoured by the large Sarlacc. Tears ran down her cheeks at the loss of the one she cared for, her breath panting. She had feared injury to her heart, being rejected by Jonas. But fate brought a hammer down on her heart anyways from a different direction, stealing Jonas away from her. She wasn’t paying attention, toppling over a root and sliding across the ground through the mud, the brown mixture covering every part of her. She heard the hoots and howls of the Felucians in the distance, following in their trail again.

Sara didn’t want to get up, the pain to her heart filling her entirely. She cried, suddenly realizing she’d never hear Jonas’ laugh anymore, see his smile or any part of his face again. The thought that Lucas being the only one to save Jonas from what awaited him didn’t sooth or calm her. She wept at the thought of leaving him, watching him fall to most certain death. She heard stories of people surviving the Sarlacc, but she only took them as tall-tales, she even believed the famed Boba Fett was lying about his escape just to raise his reputation.

Sara continued to tear and weep, pain continually stinging and stabbing her body as she heard the chants get closer to her. She rotated to her back, pointing her blaster in the direction of the coming horde, a last revenge for the one she dared love. Fate would one way or another reunite her to Jonas. Before the villagers emerged from the trees, she felt a hand grab the collar of her neck and drag her across the ground at tremendous speeds. She looked up seeing Alisson looking straight ahead of her, pulling her to a safe location.

They fell into a small cave, falling a few feet into the hole in the ground as they sat underneath the edges of it, quietly waiting for the horde to pass as Sara held her breath and tears.

They split up, Dex pulling Firi along as they raced through the underbrush. He could here the tribal calls of the natives as they pursued them. Arrows whizzed past.

"Go! Go!" Firi tripped suddenly and dex pulled her up and pushed her ahead of them. The natives wouldn't stop until the had them dead on a spit.

They ran. Dex had no idea where the others had gone, but it was every man for himself.

"Dex!" Firi pulled him behind a larger tree.

"What! we cant stop! We have to keep going!" Dex tried to run on but Firi held him in a grip.

"No... just... wait."

Before he could stop her she stepped out the on-coming natives facing her, weapons at point. She held her wings out to her sides trying to make herself larger, and began to sing.

It was like a warning song, in some desperate tune. Her voice quivered as they approached closer, sharp ends of their spears just touching her throat. Dex wanted to grab her, to run. To risk it would have been suicide at this point. He shut his eyes, listening to the last song he would ever hear.

Firi stopped singing. Dex opened his eyes. Her hand had reached out, bare and unarmed, and she was touching fingers with one of the natives. All had lowered their weapons. They were huminoid, but their sharp ears bent toward Firi.

The one touching Firi's hand said something in a foreign tongue.

"Whats he saying?" Dex whispered in her ear.
"How should I know?" She answered back. The native was gesturing and making signs.

He took Firi's long fingers and placed them on his bare chest. With his other hand, he touched her forhead, laying his plam above her brow. Dex took her hand, possesively, as the native yammered in his dialect. He gestured to the two and turned, walking southward through the brush.

"I think he wants us to follow him." Firi said softly.

"I don't know what we would do without that voice of yours." Dex answered back.

They were in a dimly lit cave, Sara could barely see, but Alisson's vision had not been impaired. As she landed, her eyes caught onto the most beautiful thing in the universe: The Cure. Her fingers tightened around the ultra-flower, squeezing the delicate puss onto her skin, rubbing it all over her body in a session of panic. She went to the next bulb and squeezed the remaining pus, full of the vital pollen, and could feel her skin cells regenerating themselves. She could feel the dry tenderness leave her body, as the cool vera healed the organ fragments and skin patches.

It wouldn't heal in minutes, probably take the rest of the night, but finally, she had adapted against the terrible virus that had plagued her since Nal Hutta. The feet trampled over them, and slowly, they disappeared. Alisson looked into Sara's eyes. "What happened." The woman struggled to speak, before telling her what she had seen. Jonas was swallowed by a Sarlacc.

"He's not dead," Alisson snapped, slapping Sara's arm lightly as a reality check. "We have about a week, after that, he might as well be. I'd shoot him myself... he'd probably beg for it." Sara nearly tackled her, the emotional attachment for the man, was mysterious at best. Perhaps she didn't know. After the small emotional struggle, Alisson picked them both off the floor. Sara seemed to breathe more easily, the knowledge that Jonas could still be saved, slowed her heart rate. "Please, if we are going to help him, we need to be at our peak." The darkness had shielded Alisson's condition, and she took a few minutes to wrap the clothing back around her skin.

She extracted large amounts, including several plants. She'd create a antigen and provide the cure to labs across the galaxy. This virus would never again affect her kind.

Alisson reappeared in the light fixture, emitting from the crack in the ground overhead. "I'm going to hoist you up." Sara agreed, as Alisson crouched to provide momentum. Sara took a running start, using Alisson's palms and a thrust to pull herself up and onto the surface level. Alisson crouched, using her HRD strength and agility, to propel herself upwards and next to the woman. "Let's go."

The tribe referred to themselves as the Awri... A native felucian tribe attributing lineage back millions of years. The leader, who named himself Owal, held her hand for most of the journey a fact which annoyed Dex and set him at unease.

Their language was gutteral and primitive. Firi gleaned a few basics, affirmatives, negatives, directions, but hardly that much. Even Diathim was easier to grasp with its close relation to fringe languages. This dialect was entirely strange.

The villiage they were led to was remarkable, elevated like the villages of Kashyyk it reminded her of the hanging cities of Cato Nemoidia that she had read about since leaving Iego. The villagers, all blue with the exception of the females (turquoise) gathered to see the new comers.

they were seated in a meeting area, given water to drink, which Dex gazed at warily.

"its just water Dex." Firi whispered.

"Need I remind you that these people came after us with arrows and spears not twenty minutes ago?" He snapped.

"I understand your grumpy, but we could do worse than simply be polite."

"Polite." Dex snorted.

A taller Awri entered from a curtained antichamber. Owal whispered something to him and he walked steadily into the room. He was slender, and handsomely built. Hair long, and covered with the colorful pelt of a native creature.

"I am Kital." The Awri said in halting basic. "And you come to the Awri like migrating Beetu, with swift feet and large numbers."

"Excuse me?" Dex coughed and firi elbowed him to shut up.

"My name is Firi'Taknik. I am a Diathim from the planet Iego. We mean you no intrusion... Only to help our friend treat and ailment found in your jungles and then be on our way."

"Your friends are clumsy like children. They strip bark from the Zirti tree and burn it. They sleep on hallowed ground."

"My apologies." Firi blushed. "It was I who touched the tree, i didn't know--"

Kital cut her off, raising his hand. "You sing whispers of ages. I hear them more." He sat and prepared himself to hear her sing. She looked at him astounded.

"Please, we have to find our friends, we've been separated."

Kital sat with his eyes half shut. "Friends gather in cave outside of tribal grounds. I have them brought to you. One friend not so lucky."

Dex started. "What? what do you mean?"

"The mouth of Itfan'wa swallow darker one. He fall to thousand years' sacrafice." Kital picked at his nails.

Firi stood quickly and the guards around the tent rose to attention. Kital looked at her. "You want to help friend, no one can but guardians of Itfan'wa. Only they make her sleep. Called Nita, they. Nita feed Itfan'wa with needed blood, but today she get extra meat."

"Nita?" Firi asked, taking her seat again.

Kital gestured to the anti chamber where he'd come from and made a whistling sound. The tent flap pulled back and the translucent figure, tall and humanoid came forth from the dark. It was as if the creature were made of spun glass, or whispers of smoke. With each gliding movement, it braided and unbraided its wisp-like form. It wrapped itself around Kital's forearm, like a loving pet.

"The ghosts of felucia..." Firi heard Dex whisper.

"This Nita, guardian of Itfan'wa. You sing whispers of ages, we make bargain. perhaps Nita not give you to Itfan'wa and perhaps we help unlucky friend. Perhaps... perhaps not."

Sooo... i hope im not being forward with this. Itfan'wa is the Sarlacc and worshiped Awri's diety... the Nita guard the Sarlacc, luring creatures to its mouth in order to feed her. Because of this, the Awri and the Nita co-exist and Kital works as both clan leader and shaman. Kital believes Firi's music is magic and wants to learn it. A few Awri guards are coming to intercept Allison and Sara. I don't have anything else planned for this plot. LOL

Sara sat around the edge of the cave with Alisson as they recuperated from their chase, and as she partially recovered from the loss of Jonas. There was still a chance, but the timeframe given to them was too short, no later than five days, then Jonas might as well be dead. As Alisson had crudely put it. They looked around, gathering their barring on where to go, in the direction that didn’t lead to the tentacle filled maw. They stood, ready to continue as they slowly paced in their chosen direction. Sara stopped, then turned back to where the Sarlacc was, hearing a low rumble as it enjoyed it’s meal.
“I will be back, Jonas,” she whispered, a silent tear began to roll down her cheek as she said her words, “I won’t let you die.”

She turned away, taking a few steps in pursuit of Alisson only to stop to turn back again. Pressing down her barriers and not worrying about anyone hearing her next vow, “I love you, and I’ll be damned if I don’t come back.”

Just as she said that, with a ruffle in the bush, she heard a puff of air, then the sharp sting of a dart imbedding itself into her neck. She gasped in surprise, Alisson must have heard it and turned to question Sara, then seeing the long needle in her neck. Sara pulled the dart from her skin, peering at the sharp point in the end, turning to Alisson, seeing her rush to her as dozens of darts fired and pinged off her. Her world became blurry, then she collapsed on the floor.

Alisson needed to play dead, for all intensive purposes of the word. The darts had no effect, but she laid as still as Sara. Her skin disease stirred the people who attacked them, but she could sense it was doing better than before. Her organic parts were the only portion still recovering, and the possible betrayal to her true, cybernetic nature had been avoided. Alisson felt the aliens grab and probe her slightly, before they were heaved upwards. In reality, she could've ended their lives, but their numbers were surprisingly great, putting risk to Sara.

A part of her also listened to a thing Lucas had called a hunch. Or maybe it was the logic of they would've killed you, if they really wanted you dead. They carried them as though trophies, speaking vibrantly no doubt in their triumph of catching two human females. Alisson listened carefully dissecting each word and accumulating their linguistic narratives. With enough conversation, she could make rogue dissections of their language, and understand what they were saying. This would be a powerful advantage.

The beats of tribal drums appeared in the distance, Sara's body twitched and jerked against the 'poison' of the dart, no doubt a harmless sedative. Alisson continued to lay still, but as their journey continued, she could hear Firi and Dex in the distance. They had been describing the Sarlacc, and Jonas' fate. Alisson thought somberly, she had actually recognized the creature in the distance. They needed Lucas, and no doubt, he would rush to save the young man.

Sara and Alisson dropped hard into the ground, the foot soldiers producing the cave-people, one of the deeper voices announced, pride thick in his tone. "Are they dead?" Firi asked, rather surprised at their lopsided bodies. Alisson opened her eyes, acting as though she had emerged from a terrible slumber. Sara remained still, until one of the blue aliens dressed in a massive headpiece applied some substance under her lip.

"What? Jonas!" The human's mind still wrapped around the boy lost to the Sarlacc. Alisson looked at her, attempting to convey that now was not the time to panic. Emotions could be translated terribly between species, and aggravating such an overwhelming force, was not required. Alisson looked to Firi. She was now the leader, she would have to pull them through this. Alisson remained dormant, her processors putting skin-organ-regeneration to the top priority, meaning she would have to perform the least amount of activities as possible, if she was to make a quick recovery.

Sara slept in twilight, faintly feeling her body being touched and heaved into the air by what seemed like hundred of hands, but quickly dwindled to only a few. Hoots and howls were audible again, but were faintly disappearing. Her subconscious mind set images of Jonas, how she longed for him and feared for his wellbeing, hoping she’d be able to see him again. She took great risks in loving him, the scales of fate continually tipping towards Jonas’ life being lost and Sara’s heart being broken for all of time at his death. She could feel her arms in this subconscious realm, seemingly pushing against the weights to try and tip it to the other spectrum: Jonas being saved, Sara’s heart being whole and the two hopefully finding love.
But it was a near impossible venture, only if they could make it to a com-station and contact Lucas could they even think about rescuing Jonas.

She didn’t know what she’d do without Jonas, without his laugh or smile. Before she could contemplate on what she would do, a foul tasting mixture entered her mouth and she instantly awoke, “What?” she confusingly said, her mind foggy as it came back from it’s subconscious state. Then Jonas quickly filled her head, making her body dart upwards as she exclaimed his name, “Jonas!”
She looked around, blue aliens staring at her exclamation, warriors pointing crude spears at her.

“Tell them to put their weapons down. And bring them here, please” Firi said, her and Dex standing in front of a tent with several blue aliens around them.
One of the aliens spoke to his tribesmen, and they lowered their spears and axes, then escorted Alisson and Sara to the two, Firi leading them into the tent where they were seated as she, Kital and Nita explained what was happening with Jonas.

Sara stepped out of the tent, being allowed to just stand at the door. She sat on the ground, curling her knees to her chest, hearing the low rumble of the Sarlacc again in the distance. It felt wrong, being here where they were in relative comfort while Jonas was in the slimy stomach of the tentacle filled bastard, stinging him with venomous spines, mentally mutilating his mind and physically destroying his body, as so few survivors had described in great detail. Mostly being hutts due to their slimy and repulsive nature. She shivered, closing her eyes, hoping Jonas would suddenly appear and rub her shoulders warm again. But she was still shivering in the coming dark, fearing she’d never feel Jonas’ hands on her shoulders at all.

Absolutely no part of Dex trusted the Awri, or Kital.

After the Awri had pulled Allison and an unconscious Sara into the settlement, Dex had pulled Firi aside.

"I don't trust any of them"

"Neither do I." She said. "Their holding us hostage, do you usually trust hostile takeovers?"

He snorted. She was right, the only reason they were still alive was because of her voice. They wouldn't help Jonas unless she "sang the whispers of ages", whatever that was.

She'd hummed a few tunes already, to pacify Kital. Stupid songs, childrens songs. But he'd been satisfied.

"Ah, You sing more, maybe Nita help friend." Kital had said eyes closed. The Nita swept upward and stroked her cheek with its ethereal, smoke separating fingers. Dex had wanted to bat it away, douse it with water, get rid of it. The ghost of Felucia was a very real, untrustworthy sort. Who knew if it would simply decide the evenings sacrifice to the Sarlacc would be Firi.

At present, Firi stroked his hair, which had fallen flat in the humidity. "Its alright." She purred, and he felt his nerves calm. "We've gotten out of worst scrapes then this."

The Blight Leaper set down along with the shuttle Lucas was in, and the mysterious Sethe landed as well. Badim grabbed his equipment, donning his black cloak and holstered the variety of weapons he had on him. Sleeving his vibrosword into the holster on his back, his vibroblade on his hip and his vibroknives on the holsters on his shoulders. With a twirl, he placed the DL-44 blaster on the side of his leg. He strapped on his wrist blades, feeling the weight on his forearms as he slowly got used to them, quickly flicking both blades forward to insure that they were still functioning.
The last thing he grabbed was his E-11, gripping it tightly within his hand as he paced out of his quarters, meeting up with Jaira in the cargo hold along with Kyp. Tseneca quickly following Badim with her weapons prepared, including her new lightsaber.

Together they exited, meeting up with Lucas and Anakin Solo, then the mysterious Sethe appeared, and Badim kept a weary hand on his hip, prepared to grab his vibroblade on a moments notice. Even if Sethe had been hired to keep Tseneca alive, he didn’t trust him to keep it.
“Lucas,” Badim asked, keeping an eye on Sethe, “If you get the time, H6 needs another repair job.”

“So, you don’t have an IG droid, do you, mesh'la?” Sethe retorted to Tseneca, her face snorting in disgust.

“I mentioned him because one, he’s still on my ship. And two, I could still throw him at you.” Tseneca shot back, partly as a joke, mostly as a threat.

They walked out of the space port, Lucas quickly spotting and pointing out the Anubis, a shuttle that Alisson, Jonas, Firi, Dex and Sara were using to get here.
Badim seemed to be eyeing everyone at the space port, not sure how long they had been on Felucia or if they had gone insane in the jungles here. But they kept their distance as the group purchased jungle equipment, tents, bug repellents, medicines and first aids.
They set out, feeling the humid environment bath them as they stayed close, Tseneca, Kyp, Lucas and Anakin having their hands on their lightsabers for a moment’s notice. Badim, Jaira and Sethe staying behind the four as they searched for the Hole of Teeth, as Tseneca had described. Sounding more like a Sarlacc than anything else. Badim kept his sights on the trees, watching for anything that might be a danger to them. He felt like he was being hunted, his heart pounding as it was when he was on Kashyyyk looking for Sara. His eyes felt dry, not wanting to close them to give a predator a chance to pounce on him.
The group silently whispered to one another, Badim keeping to himself as he stayed on edge, ignoring a comment or question unless it was directly important and not the typical ‘Is it hot in here‘ crap.

After trekking all day, they found an open field, where they could set up camp for the night and-- They all noticed the flat patches of grass, the blackened ground where the fire was and the faint footprints that were adorning the area.
“We’re on the right track then,” Lucas said as he threw his pack on the ground, resting for a moment before everyone started the same procedure and then began to set up camp.

Felucia was as wild as it was alive, and the two thrived under the humid conditions. Lucas was sweating, and by nightfall, they had found the camp used by other half of the Blight Leaper. He caught a couple of glances from Tseneca, all in all, he was glad she was okay. The darkness wasn't as much of a beacon as it was before, but it didn't mean that wouldn't become like a disturbed bee hive, once something set her off. Tactically, he avoided her, staying in the front or the rear of the group. He'd engage in conversation with Anakin, often asking questions which required long and interactive answers.

As the group made camp, Lucas disappeared, using the Force to assist in a scaling of a nearby tree. As he climbed the top, he peered into the distance, and strangely, bits of light... many of them, much like a small, yet tribal city. That's where they are. Hoping between lower branches, Lucas stirred the group. "I have an idea of where they might be," He adjusted to point towards a direction North-west from their position. "A small city, probably full of Felucians. Might've taken them in."

"Or slaughtered them." Badim gruffed, though his tone wasn't sarcastic.

Kyp shook his head, "No. I can sense them, they are not in immediate danger, but their situation will get worse as time progresses."

"They consider the Sarlacc a holy relic, where generations after generations care for the thing. I wouldn't be surprised if they go haywire when we try to get Jonas out of there." Anakin did his homework, and it showed. It was Jedi 101: Check the alien planet's history. Lucas sighed, nothing ever went pleasant nowadays. But they couldn't exactly take on the whole city.... they'd need some kind of diversion.

"Let's sleep on it," Tseneca mumbled, her eyes staring into the distance. Sethe was probably near, whether the man liked it or not, the Jedi could all sense him. His intentions were good, and that was all that matter. At least she had someone looking out for her, that small hope might nudge her away from the darkside. Lucas wasn't sure who would pay a man to travel across the galaxy and back again, but then, she was well worth whatever price he was getting. He let a smile loose on his lips, maybe she saw it, but it didn't matter.

Lucas collapsed against the ground and poof...

Jonas and Dex were talking, though the Force-impression wasn't strong enough to hear what they were saying. Dex walked into the tent, leaving Jonas alone, presumably, on night watch. Jonas stretched, bringing his head down to gaze at the stars...

Lucas opened his eyes, and did the same. They were brilliant, both bright and dim, speckled the sky into wild constellations. It was beautiful.

Jonas hummed the theme song to some holo-show, he was scanning the perimeter, something must've caught his eye or disturb his senses. Jonas had his back turned when a creature popped out, a blue-camouflaged man, before disappearing into the vegetation...

Lucas stirred uncomfortably. They were watching them, for quite some time. His hands grabbed some of the gravel, squeezing it to release some of the stress that had accumulated over the day. Tseneca had dropped some wood into the fire, a smile spreading over something Kyp had mentioned. The pair, believe it or not, actually seemed to be getting along. The Jedi Master seemed to have an extraordinary amount of patience... Lucas huffed, closing his eyes again, trying to touch something new to stir another impression.

A new person emerged from one of the tents, and judging no one else was seen inside, it had to be Alisson. Lucas' heart dropped, her skin condition must've been getting worse. She was covered head to toe, with nothing but her eyes showing. She scanned the campsite, before adding more logs to the fire.

Lucas breathed. Something in the distance roared, and it stirred the creatures of night. The floor vibrated, pebbles moving up and down from the sudden disturbance. Well that's not good, Lucas thought, before the sensation stopped. Anakin dropped nearby, his eyes darting to his apprentice. "What is it?"

"Besides whatever the hell that was..." Lucas started, "I think the Felucians are watching us... they were watching Alisson's group." Anakin peered around, "They have some kind of natural cameo."

Anakin opened his mouth to speak, and that's when they noticed the giant lizard stalking from the bush... "Holy fr-" Lucas started, but the massive roar muted him...

Tseneca and Kyp reached for lightsabers just as the... thing... came bounding out of the brush. Tseneca pulled Lucas to safety just as the creature moved to step where he had just been sitting.

Lucas ignited his own weapon. "You have a lightsaber?" He yelled as they took stances before the beast.

"Yup. lets talk about it later, shall we?"

The group was up in arms as the creature made quick work of their camp. The lightsabers seemed to do little but irritate it... or show them where more meaty prey was. It was enormous, like beasts of myth, with small beady eyes and large razor sharp teeth. Its hindlegs gained ground while talons along its forearms scraped over the earth, their tents and...

Badim rolled aground of the beast right as it tried to slash him out of one of the tents.

"Holy hell!" She heard the man yell, but took a blaster and immediately started shooting at it.

"Try not to harm it!" Kyp yelled. "We're on his turf, not the other way around."

"What would you have us do, serve ourselves as appetizers!?" Sethe was pressed against Tsenecas shoulder, shooting from a Blas-tec rifle. For only a second she was glad he was present.

"Into the jungle!" Lucas yelled pushing Tseneca toward the greenery with his free arm.

It was moist and dark, he could feel muscles of the beast move and push him towards the digestive track. Many folklore on Nar Shadda had spoken of the Tatooine wonder, Jonas frantically trying to recall the survival stories of the likes of Boba Fett. Strange goo hit his body, it was warm and thick with a foul smell, it was some kind of digestive aide. Jonas slipped further and further down the rabbit hole, his fingers grabbing and clawing at the creature's throat-like structure.

Damn it! Jonas thought, barely holding to some kind of tendril inside the Sarlacc. The air was stale, his head beat in a twisted confusion, pounding at the lack of fresh oxygen. He might be able to survive for a few more days in here, but there would be little chance of escape. He'd have to find some way of making the creature vomit. Another jolt from the massive creature, as a wave of fresh air swept through. It was mildly pleasant, though spoiled by the flesh around him.

The air-wave caused him to slip from the tentacle, and slide further into the creature's chamber. It was a free fall to the next level, his body hitting the muscle hard. But it also caused him to remember the flashlight Alisson handed him the night before. Feeling around, he had to ensure he wasn't about to be jerked or fall downwards and lose the precious light. Suddenly, he heard a painful scream. It didn't sound human...

"Frak me, frak me..." Jonas said aloud, pulling himself up... standing for the first time since his sloppy downward swallowing-adventure. "Gods damn it. Damn it all. Thanks for letting go, Sara." Jonas laughed at his own sarcasm, though it teetered on the edge of insanity. He was at the beginning of a long thousand years of digestion, he felt as though he held the right to madness. "Son of a bitch, mother frakker." The light turned on and nothing but mucus and a strange collection of swallowed objects. Some broken tribal ornaments, which Jonas effectively destroyed. If he could spark a fire, he'd burn the beast from the inside out.

Jonas halted as two of the wood barks snapped, creating a spark. I don't know when the fresh batch of air comes in. The flame, could, and that was a stretch, burn and stir the creature to vomit him up, but he wasn't quite so desperate to put the oxygen in the current chamber in jeopardy. "Frakkity frak frak!" He yelled, as loud as he could. It felt good, like he was venting enough of the worry and emotional crazy that was beginning to bottle up inside of him.

"I swear to god, if I get out of here, I'm going to go all genocide on your species." Jonas hissed, stomping over the muscle tissue. He used the hilt of the flashlight to pound into it, "Arrgg!" He shouted, "Die, die die..." He collapsed downwards, breathing heavily, though only sucking in about half the air as usual. "Gods, I took breathing for granted. I'm sorry. If I get out of here, I'll make some kind of sacrifice just for breathing, all right? Deal?"

A large grumble of the stomach, before the surface of which he was standing collapsed and he did another spiral downwards. The flashlight launched from his hands and landed below, with a splash. Shit. He hit the goo with a loud pop, and found himself swimming in the creature's bile before he was able to breathe again. His skin tingled, no doubt being digested by the creature. He could see the light disappearing below the goo, no doubt being sucked into the intestines. "No, no no!" Jonas plunged downwards, but not being able to open his eyes, left his finger to do a lot of guessing work. He finally grabbed it, just before his lungs were about to give out.

He returned to the surface, realizing that it came faster than he would've anticipated. The bile was disappearing. Jonas braced himself, the bile retreating in several openings. It was comfortable without the goo in the room, but he had a feeling it was a preparatory gland for something much more malevolent. Jonas scratched the bile off, using panicked agility to remove as much of it as possible from his own flesh. Suddenly, a snake slipped through the room. Then again... and another.

In a quick and violent thrash, they latched onto him. Jonas was pulled against the stomach, there wasn't a doubt about it now, the end was near as the flashlight dropped and faced the opposite side of the room. It was then he noticed a collection of species mounted against the wall. Much like a hunter would poach and place the heads or tusks of a creature, like a trophy. Many Felucians, in fact, it was difficult to count. Young and old, fresh and those who looked as though they've been here for a while. Jonas cringed, the sharp cords piercing his skin. Soon they were all over his body, piercing and probing his insides.

He let out a cry, a tormented scream, only to have another tendril enter his stomach. His body dry heaved at the entrance, vomit spewing forth the precious amount of food that he ate at the campsite. Tears drained from his eyes' ducts, his body squirming and resisting against the intrusive needle-like tentacles that penetrated nearly every inch of him. Suddenly, he felt stronger and more relaxed. The Sarlacc must've released some kind of toxin, his body became numb and the resistance stopped almost immediately.

Jonas was slowly becoming assimilated, he began to notice several gaps in his memory. He closed his eyes, deciding the flashlight's revelation of what was to come, a terrible mutilation of his body that would spread across the wall, was not something he looked forward to. He tried to remember something that mattered to him.

A friend. The boy who saved him from the clutches of Iego, which now seemed like a paradise. Jonas tried to remember his hair color, the way his eyes would move. Jonas attempted to recall the color and the dance he'd do with his lightsaber, the amount of times the Jedi device came in handy. Lucas, his name was Lucas. Holding this close, Jonas thought hard to fight off the toxins of the Sarlacc.

Intruding thoughts interrupted his recounting of the Blight Leaper and its crew. He could sense and feel something much larger than himself. He could feel the satisfaction of a good meal, confusion and Felucia's fresh and humid environment. He loved it here, or so he thought. He loved the breeze of the nights, and the sunlight's glory in the afternoons.

No, Jonas fought. The Sarlacc was assimilating him, both body and mind...

Badim rushed with the others, pushing through the jungle toward—Hell, he didn’t care, as long as he was away from the giant lizard that pursued them with roars and growls, shattering trees and earthquake stomps of it’s feet underlying roars. With every step it took, Badim had to almost jump to keep himself from falling from the vibrations. The lightsabers of Kyp, Tseneca, Lucas and Anakin lighting their path, the only thing they were good for now, seeing as how it apparently didn’t do anything but piss it off and send it running towards Badim’s tent, almost crushing him. He’d probably scold the Jedi later, but didn’t plan on resorting to it until several weeks later, to bring it up as a joke later on.
The trees around him blurred as he fell behind, the illumination from the precious lightsabers fading as he was left to himself in the dark environment, the lizard slowing it’s pace as well, trying to find a black clothed man, in a black forest.

Badim dove behind a tree, hoping the creature relied mostly on sight, being drawn to their fire as it had done. But that thought was quickly diminished when the portion of the tree above him shattered, splinters falling down along with the large trunk as the creature roared daringly. This creature was twice the size of the Terentatek on Kashyyyk, but it lacked the intelligence of the ’tatek, dumber than the millennia old Jedi-eater. Badim cringed, feeling the breath of the creature blow hot air at him, then turn away, staring at the lights that quickly returned, and the hum of the lightsabers.

Badim took a chance, without Clare, he had nothing to live for except for revenge, and he didn’t want that much anymore, only Justice. If he died in this engagement, he knew the Leaper would fulfill justice to Jelahan, Clare being their friend as well.
Badim unsleeved two vibroknives, then quickly jammed the humming blades into the hind leg of the lizard, quickly climbing up the now screaming creature. Vibros‘, they can cut through any flesh, he tried to reassure himself, making his way to the top of the creature and grabbing the vibrosword on his back, planning on running it down the length of the lizard’s back and kill it. But it got wind of his plan, and with a flick of it’s hip, Badim was sent flying towards his friends in front of the creature, tumbling and sliding through the mud and muck safely just in front of his friends. He coughed out what mud had made it inside him, rolling to his back as he quickly recovered from the throw.
“Are you okay!?” Tseneca yelled at Badim, reaching with her disarmed hand to help him up.

“I’ve taken worse,” he grudgingly retorted. He’d have to tell her about The Terentatek, Warir’kar and his encounters with Morgan. He got to his feet, staring at the creature as it stomped it’s feet in pain from him climbing up his leg with his knives, then ducking it’s head down, prepared to launch itself towards the group, “What now?” Badim asked, looking at the faces of the group.

Jaira quickly pitched a suggestion, “Got any apples?”

“Not the kind of support we were looking for right now!” Lucas shot back at their new arrival, just as the creature lunged forward.

Sara had been here for two days now. Not getting any sleep, only silently sobbing as the days grew shorter, and the window for Jonas’ rescue slowly dwindled. She could still hear the Sarlacc’s rumble, obviously having a good time with Jonas. That frakking… she closed her eyes, trying to usher a word that she hadn’t used already: Bastard, Frookker, Slimmo, Poodoo, S.O.B…, She had used every word in the book of curses, and she was stumped as another tear came down her cheek. She was surprised, she would have thought her eyes would have dried with all the water that was escaping them.

She had avoided Firi, Dex and Alisson, keeping to herself as her heart slowly fell into a black hole, fearing they were too late for Jonas, that she would never be able to even kis--
A roar erupted throughout the jungle, stirring the village into controlled chaos as the Felucians began to mobilize weapons to charge out of the small city for an honorable hunt, it seemed.
“…The hell…?” she uttered, turning her gaze away from the horizon she had been staring at since she set her eyes on it, but she quickly returned her eyes back the horizon, keeping a determined stare of hope that she’d get Jonas out of the Sarlacc, and that she’d be able to kis--

“Sara!” Dex yelled at her, trying to get her attention like he had been for the last few days.

“What?” she called back, not daring to tear her sight away from the horizon again.

“We need to come inside, there’s a Nretax stomping around and the Felucians are saying it’s not safe out here. Everyone is going inside their huts.” Dex quickly answered.

Sara got to her feet, but still didn’t tear her eyes from where she was looking. Following Dex to a hut, but staying at the hut‘s entrance, sitting on the ground again, curling her knees to her chest as she continued to watch the horizon, and the thoughts of kissing Jonas filling and destroying her brain. She might not get the chance.

Most of the crew had made it up a tree, or anything that was above ground and jaw-snatching level. Tseneca was tracing through the woods, as Master Durron Force-pushed her towards a higher branch. "I was going to do that," Lucas grinned at her protest. The beast was getting frustrated now, and that was when he sensed what was to happen next. "Shit," Lucas said out loud, both he and Anakin jumping to a tree nearby. The massive reptile had slammed into the trunk of the previous tree, and it came crashing down. It scanned the downed object, before growling. "I think we're just making it worse. Any one want to volunteer for a snack?" Lucas shouted, as he and Anakin jumped from branch to branch, putting distance from the creature.

Badim appeared, "Where's H6 when you need him?" He seemed to be doing fine, leaping without the assistance of the Force. The reptile seemed somewhat distracted, and with a revelation from the Force, he could tell it was the men sent to protect Tseneca. They were either going to kill the beast or it them. Lucas shot an eye towards the woman in the distance. He needed to help them, they needed to discover who sent them. Friend or foe.

Anakin stopped, "Lucas. This might sound crazy, but Jedi have the ability to calm animals as large as this one... You've seen it. Do you remember how I was able to get that nexu pack to retreat?"

Lucas recalled the incident. They were trapped in some underground facility that had been deserted for nearly a century. It was used by the Old Republic just before the Invasion of Naboo took place. A pack of wild nexu had picked up their scent, and driven by hunger, they continued the attack even with their lightsabers ignited. Despite Lucas wanting to fight, Anakin had managed to send a feeling, or somekind of emotion. Whatever it was, it scared them to the core, and they whimpered out of sight.

Lucas nodded, recalling the event successfully. If he could transmit some kind of sense of calm or even danger, the creature might flee into another direction. Lucas dropped to the ground-level, his sudden appearance brought the reptile into hesitation. Whatever it was trying to snatch was allowed to get away, as it made an advance towards him. Using his hand, he directed the Force energy, and built a connection to the beast. It was easier than he originally thought, the creature's brain was relatively small despite its massive size.

"LUCAS!" Tseneca screamed, startled by the creature's proximity. The massive row of jagged fangs was eye level. But the bond had been set, and the reptile bowed its head lower, enough for him to lift a leg over its massive neck. Tseneca folded her arms, shooting a look to Master Durron. "Really. You guys could've done that all along?"

Anakin dropped down, brushing his clothes free of dirt, "It was a lesson. Durron and I would've stopped it, if things got any worse. Now was the best moment, anyways. Fauna tend to have mental barriers different than humanoids. Their emotions much more difficult to tame and control..."

"During its rampage of the camp site, it was much more raw," Durron added, "It was easier to do it here, the creature was frustrated, and the drive had faltered. If Lucas keeps the connection, it shouldn't become a problem." Lucas made note of that, stroking the massive green scales. It was a strange feeling. It was a bond, yet control. Lucas retained his mount of the creature, when saying, "We should make for the Felucian city. Brutus can provide us with the distraction we need to get Jonas..."

Jaira, who Lucas hadn't noticed until now, appeared next to Badim's side. "Brutus?"

Lucas pat the creature's back, it huffed somesort of sound. Lucas took it as an agreement of name, as he used the Force to communicate where they needed to go. Using imagery, Lucas communicated the fastest way there for all of them: They needed to all ride on its back. The massive reptile didn't seem to like the idea, but it lowered its body. "You guys coming or not?"

With the Felucian soldiers, or guards, whatever they considered themselves to be, beginning to disappear for the hunt, Alisson decided it was time to move. "Firi, we need to get out of here. Now is the time." Whatever the Chieftain was planning, it would have to be done with some other female. The last guard approached her as Alisson rose in defiance. Though it spoke in a native language, Alisson had acquired enough to decipher what he was saying, "You are to rest for tomorrow." It had never encountered a Human Replica, nor the speed behind one. Her fingers latched around the creature's throat as she crushed his air pathways. He was down, gasping to breathe as she kicked him unconscious.

"Alisson!" Firi whispered, rather flabbergasted, perhaps even revolted by the sudden surge of violence.

"He'll survive." She kicked open the door, using the guard's pike to engage two of the guards on the outside. A moment later, she called to Dex. "Our weapons and gear are located inside a hut several paces from here. The coast is clear. I'm going to try and start a fire...." Sara emerged, tears and emotion stained her face. "Get together. You seal his fate in a state like that." It might've stung, but they needed the woman at her best...

"You have got to be kidding me." Tseneca said, but Lucas was already hoisting her up behind him. She hung on, clutching his waist, feeling the slow rumbling of the massive creature beneath her. It reminded her of the rancor she'd dealt with at oxanna. Only less deadly. she hoped.

The others climbed up. She had a feeling they all looked more or less like a circus act. Lucas had the beast under control. Tseneca rested her head on his back, taking advantage of the proximity.

"have you forgiven me yet?" She murmured as they loped at a brisk pace.

She felt him exhale, wondering what he'd say.

Allison was in charge, no doubt about it. Dex ducked into the hut she'd signified as where their weapons were being kept. He was relatively quiet about it, not wanting to disturb anyone... hostile.

He was collecting when a brush against his cheek made him jump ,yelp and drop their blasters.

A Nita stood directly before him as he whirled around. It was grainy in the dim light of the hut, but stood (hovered?) at about his height and took turns apparating and disapperating in the air before him.

Dex uttered a stream of unrepeatable words even as he dropped a few of the weapons onto his feet.

"What are you-- who—HEY!"

The Nita continued to stroke his face, its freezing mist-like appendages passing through and about his flesh, making his blood run cold.

"you are fleshy human..." it whispered in his ear. Dex batted the thing away

"Cut it out!" The thing gave him the creeps, not animal mineral or vegitable, it just was.

"I can help you, I think." The Nita said, ruffling Dex's hair.

Dex swallowed. "Don't you have a pact with the Awri? Who said we needed your help anyway."

The Nita shrunk and then grew. "No one gets out that goes into Itfan'wa. This is certain." The Nita's voice hissed like running water. "But, I may find a way..."

Dex was confused. "I thought it was your job... to feed the Sarla- Itfan'wa."

"Some things," the Nita said, coiling around Dex's arm like a genie out of a bottle. "Somethings become old. Perhaps it becomes time we think of things less archaic."

The Nita would betray its purpose and people to help get a single human out of the sarlacc. Somehow, it struck him as unbelievable. But what choice did they have.

He finished gathering the weapons and let the Nita tug him into the light, where he found allison and told her of this new development.

"Have you forgiven me yet?" Tseneca mumbled over the creature's leaps and bounds towards the fast-approaching Felucian city. Lucas could sense fear in the reptile beneath them, and suddenly, he found himself staring into the pit of the Sarlacc.

A massive creature, much larger than the one they were riding, was at the edge of the Sarlacc pit, wrestling against a barrage of tentacles. A magnificent roar sent the local Felucians into a scramble, even the bravest of soldiers did not dare mix between the two titans. Lucas realized he was sharing a memory from the point of view of the much younger Brutus, perhaps barely a hatchling... Its mother was snapping, ripping the tentacles from the Sarlacc, but it was a lost endeavor. With a rumble and screech from the mouth of the beast, the mother-reptile was swallowed.

Brutus moaned, the screech of the sarlacc echoed in the distance. Lucas could feel the fear, and almost turned them around, before he was able to separate himself from the beast. Tseneca squeezed him slightly as Brutus triumphed over a massive gap in the landscape.

"Felucians," Badim whispered, and suddenly, they were all caught up in a massive hunt. Anakin tapped Durron's shoulder, and together, they leaped into the fray. Badim dropped with Jaina, and as Tseneca began to slid, Lucas caught her.

"All is well if you help me get Jonas out of there." His foot slammed against the belly of the beast, and together, they surged towards the city...

Tseneca met Lucas' eyes and nodded, firmly. He was her best friend. She had to have faith that in time, he'd stop resenting her, would trust her again.

She used his arm to remount behind him and the two, astride Brutus, charged toward the city, leaving the others to combat the felucian hunters. Tseneca felt a little guilty, but knew they could handle it. Hoped they could handle it.

They cut through the brush and entered the falucian stronghold, if it could be called that. It was a ghost town. With the exception of Allison, Sara, Firi and Dex, who stood alone in its epicenter, lighting a fire.

Lucas jumped off of Brutus embracing Allison. Tseneca closed her eyes and tried to steady the beast through the force, though his connection with Lucas still burned bright. It was a precaution on her part.

"thank goodness!" Firi gasped, looking up at Tseneca. Felucian civilians were peaking out of their tents in awe at the vision of the human conquered Brutus.

"Jonas, we've lost--" Sara was sniffing.

"We know." Tseneca interrupted, patting the reptiles rough hide. "How long have you been here? Whats happened?"

"Nothing but a whole lot of sitting around." Dex was sarchastic. "Are those my goggles?"

Tseneca pulled the goggles off her head and tossed them to him. "I owe you, it was either that or a nose cone. Anyway..."

Lucas had pulled away from the private talk he was having with Allison. "There has to be a way of getting Jonas out, have the natives said anything?"

"Not the natives." Dex said, holing out an arm. A strange apparition was resting there. "The Nita. They guard the sarlacc and feed it, care for it."

"The felucian ghosts..." Tseneca said, reveling in the irony of it. "Leading spacers to their death."

"This one wants to help." Dex said again. They looked uncertainly at the thing, even as it swayed back and forth, blinking its faceless head like a cloud breaking for rain.

"Its a matter of trust, i think." Said the Nita.

They took the chance. In less than fifteen minutes they were at the edge of the Sarlacc, staring down into its very own pit of carcoon.

Tseneca shivered. Jonas was down there, if not dead already. She could feel him.

The Nita reclaimed its full height. standing nearly as tall as Tseneca and just as wide. It was humanoid.

"Itfan'wa cannot take more than one flesh at a time, it hesitates digestion. Though, potentially fatefull for both."

"What are you saying?" Tseneca frowned, having a feeling she knew.

"Another must go down there. One must replace the other. It is the only way."

"No." Firi breathed. "Thats the solution? There has to be a better way."

The Nita broke image then regathered itself. "No other way. Perhaps there will be luck and Itfan'wa will reject both?"

The Nita was trying for hope. It was failing.

"I'll go." Lucas' voice was a low growl.

"Lucas, no... it should be me, what have I got to lose." Tseneca said, and began to roll up her sleeves.

"No. Me. It has to be me."

It was the most terrible feeling. Knowing she might lose him. It was like ice water burning in her stomach, it was horrible. She pulled him aside, took him by the shoulders.

"Please, don't be a hero. Please." She was begging. She knew. But what else could she do.

He removed her hands and held onto them, rubbing the tops in a way that pinched. "Its not about being a hero. I hope you can understand that. I've asked you before and one more time I'll ask you to trust me. Trust me Tseneca."

She felt her eyes grow moist, but shook her head only, and stared down at where he held her hands. She pulled him forward and embraced him tightly.

"Come back jediboy." She whispered in his ear before releasing him.

Lucas removed his cloak, pushed off the jungle floor, and dove headlong into the Sarlacc.

Alex, let me know if this is okay...
