Nar Shaddaa - Candrog’s hideout

Quote:

Candrog's Hideout

Candrog De’lotre’s hideout is located in the eastern section of the Corellia Sector, within his territory. Though it might look luxurious on the inside and outside, it has all been funded by spice runs, murders, bounties, deathstick sells and innocent bloodshed on a level that is turned upon by Nar Shaddaa Police Forces, knowing to not stick into the crime order’s business unless something extremely drastic happens that links to any Crime Lord in the Under-or-Upperworld.

Being over Thirty-Seven stories tall, there is plenty of room for barracks for minions, kidnappers, slaves and prisoners throughout the Skyscraper. A personal Hall for Candrog is heavily protected, even with it’s large balcony window, Candrog is relatively safe. Loyal snipers guard him from afar on the neighboring rooftops and buildings. Making it a difficult task for other crime lords—including Urnath Dirod—to kill him.

Candrog De'lotre

Candrog De’lotre himself is a pure embodiment of evil and corruption. Fat with greed, he’s been a longtime rival to Urnath Dirod—who in his recent death—has opened Candrog’s Black Stars Organization to unchallenged territory and a flurry of new fodder for their ever growing organization in former Dirod Order members.

Born on Ryloth, quickly being shipped off-world to Nal Hutta and put into slavery under Brokda The Hutt, Candrog became exposed to many illegal things. Two of them being Deathsticks and Spice. Hooked to Spice, he’s built seventy-five percent of his order on it, the remaining being Deathsticks and slavery.
After successfully sneaking away from Brokda, he quickly became known for his cunning and mercilessness in the Blackmarket Underground. He soon became rivals with another Crime Lord, Urnath Dirod--Both of which instantly swore death to each other.

Black Stars

The Black Stars Crime Organization has been known as a ruthless fighting force under the leadership of Candrog De’lotre. They are as cruel, corrupt and merciless in their business and butt heads frequently with The Dirod Order members. They wear, contrary to their black colors, blue battle armor with a white variant of their symbol. Each member, save Candrog, spar with each other constantly during their free-time. Keeping them on edge and fit for battle.

(OOC Note: They are basically the same as the Blue Suns from Mass Effect, just a different name and similar, yet different logo. And they‘re not a Private Security Organization, they‘re a crime ring)

Clare Velez

Clare Velez was just a normal thirteen year old when her parents were killed in one of the first raids of the Death Order’s existence. When her fifteen year old brother, Shen Velez, went missing during the raid, Clare was left to fend for herself. When she was sixteen, three years later, she found an old DH-23—with three shots left in it—that was left behind after a murder and used what shots it had to defend herself from anyone who would hurt her.

She quickly found herself in the service of Candrog. She worked as just a merc, taking on jobs and suddenly, was found to be no further use to Candrog and was sent on a suicide mission at the age of eighteen. She returned alive with the head of the target. Candrog subscribed her into his personal service as an assassin quickly afterwards. He kept her as his secret weapon from that day forth.

(OOC Note: Shen Velez=Future Plot)

Note: When the Badim Rescue Plot, begins all posts, except when gathering information elsewhere or on the Blight Leaper, should be in this thread.

Written to the Emperor’s Thone Room.

(Candrog)

Candrog De’lotre sat in his luxurious chair within his hall, watching the elegant chandeliers cast rays of light onto his many exotic slaves standing at attention. He waved his hand and light music began and he watched quietly at his slaves began to dance forcibly. Rodians, Duros, Twi’leks and Humans all danced and swayed for his personal enjoyment. With another wave of his hand, it all stopped. He felt power, control, greed. He selected a Lethan Twi’lek from the crowd and had her brought forward. He sent her to his private chambers to wait for him while he excused the rest. After the slaves left and it was only him and his Black Stars guards, he summoned one of his many spies. Who came forth from the shadows the chandeliers light couldn’t reach.

The Twi’lek bowed before Candrog and asked, “How may I serve?”
Candrog stood from his chair and watched out the window and into the busy night that always encompassed the planet.
“Is the surveillance device installed?”
“Yes, I was able to successfully install it aboard the freighter without the pilot’s notice before he left. When your agent steps aboard with her target, we will be able to study what she says and does while she’s onboard.”
He planned on her betraying him, she’d been too far seduced by the frookoo that was Badim Soilding. If she did indeed become in league with that assassin, he’d need to deal with her as well as Soilding. But before he could plan for her betrayal, he needed to listen and watch her interact with Badim. Which is where his spy came in. While another of his Black Stars agents bought the pilot off with a large sum of credits, the spy snuck onboard and installed the device.
“Is the cell for the target prepared? I want him someplace secure while I review the device’s findings.”
“Yes, Candrog, it is ready for his arrival.”
He exhaled briefly, then waved the spy away. He bowed again and left the hall.

Candrog returned to the thought of the Lethan slave, and entered his chamber to begin the dark deed.

Blaster fire soared over Clare’s head as the Krayts fought bodyguards as they came upon Fabr Cesic’s stronghold. It was more like a medieval castle buried beneath the high-tech surroundings of Nar Shaddaa. She looked over the piece of debris she quickly began to call cover, and noticed guards coming out of the building with heavy rocket launchers, then she saw five white streams of smoke heading towards the team. “Fenk watch out!” she yelled as she ducked her head back down. She heard the five explosions around her, and almost fell over from the concussion of one of the missile. A cloud of dust, smoke and burning debris surrounded her, she noticed a small crater in front of her cover, she had just barely survived the impact.

She looked over to where Fenk was, where she saw mangled pieces of blackened armor, a helmet and burning pieces of flesh. She tore her helmet off at the sight of Fenk’s dismembered arm and vomited on the ground next to her. She held back tears and more vomit as she donned her helmet and stood to fire at the guards. As the blaster fire expelled from the tip of her weapon, she smelt the distinct smell of burning air as the air around her was superheated as she fired.
“Sniper!” Rath yelled as he began to fire along the rooftops.

She quickly saw the sniper fall from the roof. Clare began to find herself cuddling closer and tighter to her cover as more guards fired on her position.
“Aria!” Jensi yelled at the falling woman as her chest was littered and torn apart from a volley of fire. Clare noticed Jensi running towards Aria’s falling corpse, before succumbing to the volley himself. Half their team was now dead or slowly and painfully dying. Clare peered around, noticing a grating on the side of the building just forty feet from her, she yelled to the other two survivors of the Krayts, “Rath! Aleena! Entry point forty feet Northwest!”

They both sprinted across the open terrain and slid into a ditch just beyond Clare’s cover. Clare counted off for ten seconds, waiting for a brief break in the action to make her move, she peered over and noticed half the guards drop their weapons to reload. She took her chances and slid into the same ditch with the rest of her team. They cautiously moved to their new entry point and blew it open. Just as Rath and Clare entered, they heard Aleena scream. They both turned to their friend, gapping holes in both her arms as she tried to muster what strength she could to hold on, without falling and being easy pickings for the guards. Clare jumped and slid on her stomach as she tried to reach for Aleena’s grasping hands. She missed and Aleena fell to the ground, unable to get herself back up.

“Aleena!” Clare yelled, stretching her arm down as she tried to reach her. Rath pulled her away from the hole as more blaster fire came in their direction. Rath dragged Clare down the tunnel as she kicked and screamed, trying to get back to her friend. She stopped, listening to Aleena’s pleas, then she watched in horror as the entrance to the tunnel exploded in flashing lights as the guards mercilessly fired on her defenseless friend.

* * *

Clare gasped as she awoke from her memory, she looked around with her blaster pointing in every direction, until she calmed down and put it down. She looked to a sudden change in the corridor, the faint blue hue disappeared. They were here.

Clare and Badim are now at Nar Shaddaa.

Clare exited the freighter’s ramp and was greeted by two Black Stars’ members, rushing inside to apprehend Badim and take him to a holding cell within the skyscraper. She walked further through the hanger, she came upon a set of durasteel doors that quickly slid open to reveal Candrog himself, surrounded by robotic bodyguards. Clare quickly stopped and bowed to him, her hair fell over her head from the over-exaggerated bow and took the opportunity to create a cringed look on her hidden face. She brought herself up and pushed her brown hair behind her ears, “It’s good to see you again, Candrog.”
He brushed his lekku curiously as he noticed something behind her. Clare peered in his direction, seeing the two Stars’ members dragging a barely conscious Badim out and through another set of doors.

The pilot himself exited and strolled over to the two, “There you go, Candrog. When can I expect the other half?” he asked.

Candrog threw his arms to either side of himself, a gesture of offering, “Why the rush? Stay, go to the slave quarters and enjoy yourself,” he snapped his fingers and an innocent looking protocol droid appeared, directing the pilot to follow it, “Consider it a bonus.”

Something’s odd, Clare thought as she pondered her employer, Candrog is never this generous to anyone, not even to me.

Once the pilot left, Candrog turned to her, “Clare, go and rest. We will begin the execution tonight.”
Clare bowed again, then proceeded to her long dormant living space.

Badim’s vision was blurred, distorted and uncooperative, fading in and out. What he could make out was he was being dragged alongside sets of prison cells. His hearing was distorted as well, hearing blurred and incomprehensive words being shouted at him and throughout this prison. Wherever he was. He didn’t feel Clare’s hands on him, he was alone.

He was still trying to make sense of all this. He was on Denon, flying with Clare chasing Nico, Clare’s stun blaster pointed at his arm and then… Nothing? He shook his head violently, trying to clear his mind of the fog that had rolled over his thoughts. All he did was make himself nauseous. A side effect of acting too quickly after being shot with a stun bolt.

He held his stomach down as he glared up at one of the people dragging him. He noticed blue battle armor, adorned with the signature symbol of The Black Stars. Which could only mean that Clare, and he hoped he was wrong… Was Candrog’s best assassin.

(Candrog)

Clare was past the doors to the hanger, hearing it’s reassuring clang. He waved one of his spies over, then pointed to the ship. The human spy bowed and rushed inside, returning moments later with the surveillance device. A small disk that was connected to a series of black market mini-cameras, barely visible to the naked eye. The spy took a knee and offered the disk to Candrog, he took it genially, what was on it could mean the reassurance of his assassin, or her certain demise.

He paced towards the turbolift with the disk in hand as he pondered it curiously, wondering what it contained within. He entered his hall, greeted by his battle droids, upgraded antiques from the Clone Wars, over thirty littered the room, with a pair of old Super Battle Droids covering his desk. Beyond them and the large window that decorated his hall, he saw a faint glint of a sniper rifle scope above one of the adjacent buildings.

He flung the doors to his private chambers open, then towards his intelligence desk. He inserted the disk and began to watch hours of footage, making sure he wouldn’t miss anything.

Clare entered her dark room. She flipped a switch and a series of lights flickered on, revealing her lush apartment. She tore her shirt off and tossed it aside as she headed for her shower. She started the water and stripped, then entering, relieved to have a shower lasting longer than three minutes for a change. It’s rough marble surface quickly bathing her in luxury. She quickly began to feel sick, looking at the shower’s base as she began to loose herself. This isn’t what she wanted, bathing in Candrog’s water didn’t feel right. She shut the water off and exited, having only a brief minute shower. Barely enough time to get most of her hair drenched, let alone sprinkled.

She strode over to her dresser dripping with water and dressed herself. She didn’t feel sick this time, for these were her clothes, not being supplied by Candrog. She looked out the window and into the coming night, the sun was setting and the execution would begin in little more than six hours. She used that time to rest uncomfortably on her bed, waiting and refining her plan in her dreams.

The Blight Leaper crew had assembled, their numbers full, with Master Durron moments from making an appearance. Lucas stretched, careful not to inhale too much of the foul air at once. He couldn't believe this is where Jonas and Dex grew up. It was disgusting, but he let that disappear from his mind, not wanting to risk offending them. "We're back." Lucas claimed half-heartidly. "Why did she have to take him here?" He couldn't help it, letting out a groan.

"Would you prefer a meadow of bunny rabbits and flowers?" Jonas teased, his shoulder bumping into Lucas as he passed. A gesture of "watch what you say".

"I would, actually." Lucas answered, folding his arms.

(H6-32, and hopefully the last time he’ll be a PNPC)

H6 enjoyed Lucas and Jonas’ brief argument. It was amusing to his programming, but inefficient to their mission at hand to save Master.
Statement: Which is why I’m glad to be a droid, Lucas,” he stated as he waited for the rest of the crew to assemble, “This air is barely habitable, let alone foul smelling with all the sulfur-dioxide in the atmosphere. Perfect for hiding one’s scent. Suggestion: If you would prefer, Lucas, I could bring up an address for a professional in cybernetic implants so we can fix that pesky nasal problem you are having.”

“No thanks, H6.” Lucas replied.

Sara moved behind Tseneca, watching as she traced the tracking device she had placed on Clare’s ship. The coordinates began to roll across the screen, triangulating to a single building within the Corellian Sector. A holographic map of the area appeared, showing a tall skyscraper surrounded by others. Sara didn’t know why Clare would go there, she thought she would head someplace less luxurious than that plush skyscraper. But as quickly as Tseneca had found the location, the tracking device stopped transmitting.
“Damn,” she exclaimed, “They found it.”

“Not before we found them.” Sara reassured. They both stood and left for the boarding ramp, where the entire crew was assembled, ready to take on Clare and whatever she had in that building. Tseneca told them where to go, and they began to trek lightly towards the skyscraper, surprisingly a kilometer away, it’s tip visible to them from this distance.

They quickly came within view of the entire, Thirty-Seven story high building. With a symbol akin to The Black Stars gang adorning it’s lower levels. “Candrog De’lotre’s Black Stars,” Tseneca hissed, “That mean’s things just got a lot more difficult.”

“The Black Stars?” Jonas asked curiously, staring at the tall building.

“The most ruthless mercenary gang within the Corellian Sector, led by an even more devious leader,” Tseneca answered back quickly, almost as if she had it playing the thought in her head, but didn‘t want it to become a reality, “We need a plan.”

Thirty minutes later

They had spent the last half-hour huddled in a alleyway discussing their plan of attack. H6 returned from his scouting mission to report that there were several entrances to the building, all of which were heavily guarded. They talked it over, figuring out a plan that would work well enough to be possible.
“Let’s go through this one more, then we’ll begin.” Tseneca said, gesturing Lucas.

“Two teams, a distraction team, and an infiltration team,” he began, “Team One: Dex, Alisson, Jonas and Durron will cause a distraction on the east wing of the building, attracting as many guards as they can for Team Two to make their way inside.”

Sara stepped forward, “Team Two: Tseneca, Lucas and myself will infiltrate the building and work our way through to try and find Badim and take care of Clare.”

Recitation: Firi and I will supply sniper support as we did in our last mission. We will make ready and acquire another speeder.” With that, they both left for another speeder dealer to begin their mission. Sara thought she heard Firi ask if they could get the speeder her way this time, but ignored it.

“You all know your positions, let’s get going.”

Kyp couldn't believe he was back at square one. He was sure they'd still be cleaning the entrails off the walls back at that damned bunko. The foul air rushed into Kyp's lungs and smelled like the bogs on Yavin 4. Kyp was afraid to breathe through his mouth as who knew what the air would taste like.

Kyp took a deep whiff of the "fresh" air and knew he shouldn't have. "I don't think it could smell any worse though." Dex and Jonas gave him the third degree but Kyp simply pretended to ignore it. Kyp had thought about the talk with Lucas and also about Tseneca. Kyp hoped she'd come to him if she needed help but perhaps she wouldn't. Kyp just hoped that whatever help may come wouldn't be too late. In the end there was more urgent business to attend to, in the here and now. "Where do we start?" Kyp said swinging the hood of his cloak up and crossing his arms.

Badim was thrown into a cell, he landed on his face as it scrapped against the floor, rubbing it smooth as he slid to the other side of it. His body smashed into the wall, being thrown by two overly muscular thugs at full force. He sat there, wondering where he had gone wrong. Was it him working for Dirod? Was it him taking too big of a bite by killing Dirod? No, it couldn’t have been that, with enough force he could have convinced Dirod to not kill his foster parents, letting them live, but keeping them under his influence. It must have been his attraction to Clare that was his demise, he was so into her beauty, that he couldn’t see what she was.

He put the pieces together, every time there were together, he could pick out moments that would come off as innocent, but was really a ploy to get close to him. Every time they were together and every time they kissed, he saw moments of her preparing to strike. Something wasn’t right, however, she would always back-off, hide and run. She must have cared, but it couldn’t be true. It must have been just another way to get close to him, make him come after her, want her… Love her…

Clare awoke from her awkward sleep, barely getting an hour in. She had spent most of the time in her bed with her eyes closed, trying to rest. She leaned her head back and out the window behind the bed, seeing just black in the night. She looked over to a clock next to her, seeing that she had less than an hour to get to Candrog’s hall and the execution.

She threw her legs off the bed with herself along with them and placed her feet firmly on the floor. She stood walked to her dresser and put on a set of clothes. Then stopped, curiously looking at the collar Candrog had given her, it’s elegant design captivating her interest as she picked it up to examine it closer. There were no engravings on it, nothing but the elegant lines. She pulled and it split for her, she placed it around her neck and closed it, tugging the loose strands of hair that were pinned between her and the collar. There was an lock on the tip of it, used to fasten the two halves together so they wouldn’t come apart.

She shrugged the thought away and locked it anyways. She pulled her hair into a ponytail and applied a genial amount of makeup. She looked at herself in the mirror: Half-Elegant with how she wore her hair, face and collar; and Half-Street with her white shirt and black capris. It looked, different than what was usually worn by either category. The room was quiet, it was only her in the large room. It felt eerie, as though something was going to go wrong tonight.

She shivered in front of the mirror, but she paused, hoping Badim would appear and warm her. She held back a tear, realizing he was probably suffering below her, while she was here, looking at a mirror while she dressed. She heard the faint sound of blaster fire below her. It wasn’t uncommon, The Black Stars always sparred with each other and practiced with their weapons, she dismissed it, only to jolt when she heard to clock begin to whine. It was time.

"Where do we start?" Kyp said swinging the hood of his cloak up and crossing his arms.
Sara pondered the question, staring at the horizon in the distance, the Y’toub sun just over the edge. She changed her view to The Black Stars’ skyscraper, it’s shape getting more devious and threatening as the light disappeared and flood lamps ignited and lit it’s surface, casting ghastly shadows in each crevice and corner of the building. She was brought back to Kyp’s question and answered, “We'll make for the West Wing Entrance, while you four head for the East Wing.”

Kyp asked "where", and you answered a question of "when". LOL. Just a heads up

Jonas snaked around the corner of the skyscraper. With all the armor and weapons that he had been carrying it slowed him dramatically, though not enough to compromise his ability to dodge and retaliate blaster fire. He dropped the first pack, loaded with blasters and grenades, and positioned it into a corner that was well hidden. It wasn't invisible, but you'd have to be looking for it, to find it. Alisson did the same with another at a separate and further checkpoint. They were back-up locations, in case their own would be over run, and it never hurt to have an extra supply of weapons.

"Tseneca was really packing some heat!" Jonas whispered, dumping the last bag.

"Actually, I brought most of these on board." Alisson admitted, "I figured we'd need them."

"Oh..." Jonas looked at the woman. She seemed so innocent to be carrying so many guns...

"Psst," Master Durron hissed, his fingers flicking towards the skyscraper that was now pretty damn close. Jonas nodded, and took the last bag in his hand. It was wired with a several thermal detonators, with another cache of weapons inside.

This part would be tricky. He climbed through an open window, it looked as though they were doing some sort of repair, allowing him to move carefully through the lobby. The guards were talking about the latest podrace, and so interested in the statistics, they didn't hear the elevator ding as it opened. Jonas rolled inside, his ears peeled for any sign of trouble. Patrols behind different monitors, who perhaps were paying attention, were probably already on their way. Moving quickly, Jonas sliced into the elevator's access terminal. It didn't take long for the device to do what they wanted, and that was to have the elevator wait on the pre-determined floor.

Tapping the key, Jonas rolled out and back into the lobby.

The elevator dinged the second time, and as the doors closed, this time, one of the guards hissed Shit, something is in there. Some kind of bag! Jonas stood up suddenly, using his blaster to disable both of them. He walked over, knowing that the other security checkpoints probably already knew he was here. Taking the datapadd, he injected into the port, and attempted to penetrate the security network. Candrog's firewall, however, was too powerful to crack, so they'd have to do it the hard way.

Footsteps echoed in the distance, it was his cue to leave. Pulling the device from the slot, Jonas started to open fire in the general location, until he was behind long slab with Dex and Alisson. "You get in?" She had asked.

"Nope, not enough time. It was way over my head. And I don't think this thing had the capabilities..." He tossed the datapadd into the bag.

"Here they come..." Alisson nodded in the direction as a flood of Black Star operatives emerged...

Tseneca saw the way Kyp had been looking at her, but she'd ignored it. Whatever she'd felt during her little tantrum on the ship, he must have gotten wind of. She didn't want to discuss it with him, at least not yet. Until then, she'd try to keep her emotions in check, try to put up a wall between herself and the ever-insightful Jedi master.

She looked down at the data pad where SAMM had transmitted building plans to the skyscraper. If it was Candrog and the Black Stars, of which she had no doubt, the mission could be very short indeed. She considered the blueprint, then leaned over to Sara.

"Look. See that?" she pointed to the screen. "Its a maintenece shaft, right off the landing corridor."

Sara peered at it. "We could get in that way, at least once the others pull the guards away from their stations."

The sound of an alarm rang out from within the building.

"Looks like we didn't have to wait long." Lucas muttered.

"Lets move." Tseneca said, and the three of them headed for the maintenece shaft.

In an instant all three of them ran towards the building and the two remaining guards at the entrance, left behind to guard their post while the other eight rushed to help their fellow mercenaries.
Lucas flung one against the building while Tseneca and Sara dealt with the other. Sara shot low on the guard, shooting at his knees. Once he was down and concentrating on the pain in his legs, Tseneca rushed forward and knocked the man out with a well placed punch to the face, and kick to groin. The un-helmeted man’s eyes rolled back into his head as he fell into unconsciousness.

Sara looked over to see Lucas finishing with the other guard, seeing a large indentation in the wall where the guard had been flung. With both guards taken care of, the three rushed inside, where they found the maintenance hatch Tseneca had found. Lucas quickly pulled the grating off, they all entered and Lucas used the Force to lock the grate behind them.

H6 and Firi paced quickly towards the nearest speeder dealer, and surprisingly there were plenty to be found. His processors calculated several factors, including the bulk of The Black Stars forces, their planetary threat level and chances of their success. All of them came to him with high numbers. Of course, there was a certain thing such as Dumb Luck that the Black Stars could possibly utilize.

Firi and H6 quickly came upon the dealer. Firi began to ask the human male if they could have a speeder for cheap. He quickly declined and suddenly raised the prices of all the speeders on the lot. “Statement: I ask that you resend back to your original price, and lower it even further, Prospective Seller.”

“Why should I?” the dealer replied as he threw his arms to his sides. A common motion for indicating, bring it on.

Statement: Because I would just hate to see you lying on the ground with several of your bones removed and broken into tinny, tiny pieces. Oh wait, I would actually enjoy it.”

“You’re bluffing.” the dealer quickly resorted, keeping a bold stance. But a glint of fear and a rapid acceleration of his heart rate depicted otherwise.

Query: If by bluffing you mean I am exaggerating, that I am merely telling a half-truth in order to lighten the subject, and not tell you an even more gruesome and horrible way to suffer than what I had previously told you. Answer: Then I am most certainly bluffing.”

The man quickly tossed the two a set of keys and told them to pick any vehicle on the lot. After thanking the prospective seller for his services, Firi and H6 quickly found a speeder, a used, fire-red XJ-6 airspeeder.
Hopefully they could keep this one in working condition and utilize it later on.

The maintenance shaft off the landing corridor would've drove any claustrophobic crazy, and it allowed Tseneca, Sara and Lucas to get to know each other a little more than any probably wanted. Lucas stopped, the abruptness causing Tseneca to bump into him, and then Sara into her. "Why are we stopping?" One of them whispered, the vibration of footsteps above them muffled the identity of the voice.

"I think we are almost there..."

"Good, can we keep moving?" That was definitely Tseneca. The trio continued down the narrow path, until Lucas came to a halt. There wasn't an exit. "Shit." Tseneca started, "We have to go another way."

Lucas grabbed her, "No, wait. Just back up." They complied and he removed the silver tube from his belt. A flip of the switch brought the lightsaber up, and into the wall. It took about twenty seconds to make a perfect circle, and with a strong push from the Force, an exit was literally created. "Abra-Kadabra." He stepped into the hallway, and instantly, fell under a hail of blaster fire. His lightsaber bounced back and forth, shielding the exit he had just created.

The shots were repelled back to their origin, successfully eliminating the opposition. "CLEAR!" Lucas called out to them. Tseneca popped her head out, just as another patrol rounded the corner and started firing. Lucas used the Force to push him back into the wall and remove the blaster from his fingertips. He kept him pinned against the wall, allowing the blaster to levitate. It hovered around the man's head, before Lucas squeezed the trigger.

"Frak, Lucas." Tseneca climbed out, "You said it was clear!"

"Sorry," Lucas ran to the corner, calling an additional four blasters to the air. "I think I learned a pretty cool trick though..." He pivoted around the corner, the five blasters circling above him, maintained by his connection to the Force. Should he lose it, they would fall and he'd lose the advantage.

"We have to go up," Sara said, pointing to a nearby staircase.

“Judgment time, frakker,” one of the guards said as they opened the door to Badim’s cell. He’d been sitting here for the past five hours, waiting for this moment. He lunged forward at the guards, beating the closest, unarmored one with all his forged strength. Within a moment, the man was bleeding profusely from his nose and mouth as he spat blood. He didn’t let up. Badim kept punching, until the butt of a blaster conked him on the side of the head. He was thrown off the man, landing just a foot away.

Another guard came up and snapped a pair of binders on his wrists, effectively defeating Badim. The other guards helped the wounded man up, who quickly paced and kicked Badim hard in the abdomen. It hurt, but he wasn’t phased very much because of the leather plate and blood rags wrapped around his waist. He still needed to bluff the hit and doubled over. The men picked him up by the arms and began to drag him again. The other prisoners began to shout at Badim, repeating what the guard had said, Frakker! Frakker! Frakker!

Badim just laughed, yelling back, “You’re next, sleemos!” Some of them stopped, suddenly realizing their coming fates, but others continued to chant the phrase.
A turbolift at the end of the hallway opened to them, they entered and they ascended up the tower. It’s adorned transparisteel window showing Badim a view that few would ever see, let alone pay attention. The star Y’toub setting in the distance, Nal Hutta appearing as the surface began to face it. It’s green hue glistening in Y’toub’s setting light. He felt almost comforted when the lights of Nar Shaddaa began to light as the Da Soocha awoke. He overheard the guards holding him discussing how they wanted to be on one of the lower floors, helping their men fight off the little problem they were having below. Badim dismissed it as a surprise attack on the building by a rival gang. He didn’t take anything else into account. He suddenly felt alone as he stared out the window. His stomach jolt upwards as he felt the turbolift stop. But before he was dragged out, he noticed a speeder racing in and firing on the rooftops.

Definitely a rival gang.

“We have to go up.” Sara said, pointing to a nearby staircase. The group quickly made their way to it. This was going quiet well, and with the five blasters positioned over Lucas’ head and his lightsaber, they all seemed to be unstoppable. Sara shifted her aim up the staircase. No one was using them. “Clear.” she whispered, waving the others to follow. They climbed the staircase, until they reached a door, with a Thirty engraved in it. A good place to start their search. She opened the door, seeing an empty hallway. Several doors lined the hall, she moved to one of them and readied herself on one side of the door, waving Tseneca and Lucas to join her. Tseneca position herself on the opposite side of the door, Lucas standing right in front of it, with his blasters trained on it and his lightsaber ignited. She counted off with her fingers, Three… Two… One… the door burst open and what she saw inside actually scared her.

There were two sets of large groups. One was heading directly for them, the rest seemed to be planning a counterattack and slowing beginning to disperse. "We need to take care of them, before they completely scatter." Her voice directed attention to the group that was losing men as their commander gave orders to different spots. "We can fight them if they stay there, next to the building, but if they wrap around us, we're screwed."

She unlocked a weapon. "Holy hell!" Jonas exclaimed as she mounted the launcher. She cocked the rocket into place, taking aim, then fired into the middle of a mixture of paid-guards, thugs, and goons. It was a mess after the smoke cleared, Jonas picking off the survivors, while Alisson targeted the second group. Her above human speed allowed to load a second explosive and fire into the fleeing horde. It wasn't as successful as the last, but a good portion had been eliminated.

"That's great, but uh, we have company!" Dex pointed to the speeders hailing from the sky. Not to mention, a fresh load releasing from the building. Candrog was certainly a rich, and well defended man... With their position revealed, they relied on Jedi Master Kyp Durron to clear a path of retreat to the next checkpoint...

The door slid open and they were met with a veritable hive of candrog's more violent employ. the group of three and the soldiers themselves looked at each other in a stunned silence, before hell broke loose in a rain of blaster fire.

Tseneca pushed Lucas back against the wall, even as Sara, on the other side of the doorway did the same to take cover.

"You couldn't sense that there was a chorus line of mercenaries behind the door?" She yelled at Lucas over the din.

"Couldn't you?" he retorted. His lightsaber worked in a blur as he covered her firing back at the mercenaries. They were heavily outnumbered.

"Get the door!" Sara yelled, and Tseneca slapped a panel, firing at it to shut it longer.

"That'll hold 'em. C'mon!" She yelled.

The three raced down the hall, knowing full well, each corner would hold more guards. Luckily, the other group had cleared most of them out. They'd done right by splitting up and flanking the building.

they ducked into another service shaft and Lucas shut it behind them. Tseneca pulled her handheld out.

"They could be keeping him in one of three cell blocks, two are in the west wing of the buiding and the other is located in the east wing, closer to the underlevels."

Sara perked up. "I doubt clare would keep him that far below ground, not if she or candrog want him for something more... immediate."

Lucas shuddered visibly. "most likely."

"West wing then..." Tseneca pocketed the handheld. "Preferably a way with less blasters..."

Clare waited in Candrog’s hall, waiting for both Badim and their host. She was left to contemplate on what she was to do, as she thought she pressed a finger between her neck and the tightly bound collar that Candrog demanded she wear around her neck.
She straightened herself and continued to wait, wondering what kind of horrors Badim was facing below her at this moment. She shook her head and rehearsed what she was going to do in her head: When she was about to pull the trigger on Badim, she would turn her crosshairs to Candrog. His robotic bodyguards wouldn’t be able to make a move without risking Clare killing their boss. She would give Candrog final words, then kill him. Release Badim and hope he would forgive her for leading him on.

The doors to Candrog’s private chambers opened in a huff, with Candrog pacing towards his desk while rubbing his chin curiously. He sat down and examined Clare, letting his eyes wander all over her body, until he focused on the collar.

He smiled, but didn’t speak to her, instead into a device on his desk and demanded, “Send him in.”
A muffled reply came through the device from one of the guards.
“Send him in, and then deal with the intruders.”

Clare looked bewildered, suspecting the crew of the Blight Leaper following Badim’s signal to this building, “Intruders?” Clare asked, playing dumb.
Candrog glowered at Clare, then replied, “Yes, it appears the crew of the ship you two were on, The Blight Leaper was it? Have come to rescue Badim. They‘re currently on level Thirty-Three, right where the barracks are.”
Clare held back the smile she wanted to brew, even now it appeared Candrog was worried by the threat.

"There! There!" Firi pointed wildly at the collection of speeders firing at Jonas' group.

H6 mumbled a reply, exsasperated. "Inquiry: Do you want to fly this thing, or shall I"

Firi had never understood sarcasm in humans, less in droids when they could grasp the concept. "Of course not!" she cried over the engines.

Swiftly, with an ease of grace becoming one of her species, Firi vaulted over the dividing seat and took hold of the small turret in the back. they'd gotten a speader with weaponry, one made for womp rat hunting or sewer diving for the large insectoid creatures in Shadda's effluvia. it was low key, but it would suit their purposes.

Firi shot at the speaders swooping on the first group. On the ground, Jonas, Allison, Kyp and Dex were fending off, three to one, massive groups of Candrog's soldiers. They could worry less about the attack from above then the one they were facing on the ground if she and H6 continued the firefight from above.

They took out two of the speaders, Firi firing wildly into the maw of thrusters raging around her.

Then, a shot. The blast caught the turret gun, exploding it in a ball of sparks and flame. Firi ducked back. electrodes caught her arm and she cried out, burned badly by the blast.

H6 yelled from the front, but stabilized the speeder enough to continue. "Inquiry: should we fall back?"

Firi sat up, dazed. Her arm, and the side of her face hurt terribly, but she remained conscious. "Just enough to stay in range."

There was one thing about the folklore of her species that Firi could claim not having the ability to negate. In this case, if someone were to ask her about the hail of ships wrecked upon the planet of Iego by Diathim, she would not deny the claims that her people were ruthless and cutthroatedly eager to comply to their own pleasures. It was now, and only now, when Firi'takNik began to sing the siren song of her past and future, only now when her voice began to mesmerize and dull the minds of the speeder pilots raining death upon her friends, that she could finally have the right to claim for herself the legends of her kind.

The speeders attacking the group began to sag and drop as their pilots, hearing Firi's voice in their heads, in their bodies, began to lose control. The firing stopped as their vehicles fell, skidding, sliding, crashing into the ground like harmless birds losing flight....
