Summarized Biography: Riene Bastila Zend was born on Empire Day, 12 ABY to Fleet Admiral Daara Zend. She followed her mother on campaigns against the New Republic and learned the arts and sciences of war, strategy, and cold-hearted butchery on a massive scale. When High Admiral Zend ultimately left the Imperial Remnant, her young daughter stood beside her on the bridge of the Arquebusier.

When she reached the age of sixteen, Riene entered the makeshift Stormtrooper training program her mother's forces had set up. After she was sworn in as a Stormtrooper, the younger Zend's career of oppression and violence took off. In engagement after bloody engagement, Riene showed she learned much from her mother and her instructors. She always led her troops from the front. The first enemy to die on a mission fell to her blaster bolts nearly every time.

When the Grand Admiral's chief Stormtrooper commander was killed in a skirmish, Riene had no compunction about using her accomplishments and her bloodline to secure the position for herself. Perhaps impressed by the audacity of such a move, her request was granted when Zend was 26.

She is a ruthless soldier and ardently loyal to her mother and the form of the Empire they have created. As Chief Marshal of the Stormtrooper Corps, Zend has streamlined and toughened her troops even further. And she relishes the chance to turn her minions loose on the New Republic and what she calls the Traitor Empire.
