Summarized Biography:
Prior to the Clone Wars, Alister Mako served in the Republic Judicial Forces. He then later fought in the battle of Geonosis, assisting several other Republic ships in preventing escaping Separatist transports from leaving the system. Throughout the war, Alister's efforts in defending the Republic from the seemingly endless onslaught of invading Confederate ships finally earned him the rank of Admiral in the Republic Navy. He later fought in the battle of Coruscant, commanding the Venator Guarlara.

After the battle, Alister learned that his wife, Helena, was killed during the fight on the surface when a Vulture Droid Starfighter spun out of control and crashed into the building they lived in. With his wife dead, and his daughter missing, Alister took a leave of absence from the fleet and was about to return home to Anaxes when he was stopped by a pair of clones carrying orders for him to go directly to the Supreme Chancellor's office. Where Palpatine revealed that his daughter was indeed still alive.

Palpatine saw a use for the skilled Admiral. He needed someone who could inspire loyalty like Alister could. And Palpatine needed that person to be unquestionably loyal to himself. Eventually Palpatine revealed his true identity to the Admiral, and promised that in return for his total loyalty, Sara would be under the Sith Lord's protection and no harm would ever come to her. Alister gladly accepted.

Some time later, the Jedi were deemed traitors to the Republic, and the Galactic Empire was formed. Alister influenced several skeptical commanders into accepting the New Order save for a few. One of them being his closest friend. Tigsien Dathalon. Alister knew full well that Tigsien had no love for the Empire, and voiced his concerns to his master who in turn assigned a spy to Dathalon's flagship, the Scinfaxi. Not long after, it was discovered that Tigsien was gathering a fleet of those loyal to the ideals of the old Republic and planned to assassinate the Emperor by attacking Coruscant directly. Halfway to their destination, they were stopped by a fleet of equal strength. Lead by Admiral Mako. The ensuing battle was intense as the two friends and brilliant strategists dueled each other.

Eventually Alister outsmarted his old friend and captured him. After a brief exchange of words, Alister had Tigsien injected with a poisen that would kill him quickly, but dissipate not long after death so that no one would suspect that he was executed for treason. After the funeral, Alister took Tigsien's nephew, Hidale, under his wing and taught him everything he knew. He continued to serve aboard Alister's flagship even during his assignment to travel to the Unknown Regions with Grand Admiral Thrawn and then returning to the known galaxy with him to try and restore the Empire to it's former glory.

After the devastating loss of the Grand Admiral's life at the battle of Bilbringi, Alister and his crew went into hiding, and remained so until they decided to join the True Empire under Grand Admiral Zend.

Then at last Alister's past came back to haunt him. One year before the Grand Admiral vanished, his most loyal officer, Hidale Dathalon finally discovered the events that transpired between Alister and Tigsien. Outraged at Alister's 'betrayal', Dathalon left the True Empire and joined Pellaeon's forces.

But before he left, Alister made a promise to Hidale. That he too would learn the lesson his uncle learned all those years ago...
