I use Movie Maker and Jashaka. That should be sufficient for whatever you might want me to do, once I get home. Especially with the force of my endless experimental tinkering behind it. :D

I'm in, for both of my characters. Liam Neeson putting the hurt on anyone in Taken would be good

I don't know about Dr. Horrible for Zero... I'm sure you could find something?

It's an interesting idea. The only thing I worry about is the narrative. A lot of things are up in the air at the moment and it's too early to tell what will be featured in the main plot and what won't. This is the same problem I had with SWVIII when I started to work on a poster. It was hard to tell where the story would end up.

That's what I've been saying, let things play out a bit, see where we might be going, and Then get the Propoganda up.

Hmm, you may be right. Originally I planned on just including cameos of each character, with some lightsaber battles and starfighter dogfights to imply the split of the Jedi Order and the return of the True Empire, but now that I think about it, we should probably wait. Although, it's great that the idea has garnered so much support over such a short period of time. :D

And Jess, I was planning on including a shot of the Rancor from RotJ as a nod towards your character's heroics in Oxanna. :)

I agree we should hold off, though discussion of some basics cannot hurt. Some preplanning, if you will, could be beneficial. Just a thought.

So, first off: What sort of direction should the trailer take in terms of mood? Should it be dark and suspenseful like the Episode III trailer, or should it be more lighthearted like the TPM trailers? Or perhaps both, with a smooth transition in between?

...No. :P Maybe afterwards, as a teaser, but I think the first one should use Original Trilogy music.

What about 'The Dark Knight' type teaser?

It should be dark, I agree with that much. Beyond that, it's anyone's guess where to go with it until we move along with more of the game. A montage of characters and concept art could work(think ESB teaser trailer), but other than that, it's too soon to tell.

What if we, when we get some battles going, we use Empire at War to get the scenes we need? I think I have a mod on my copy where it adds more ships to each side, Rebel, Empire and Corruption.

What about that?

So we're steering towards the Episode III theatrical trailer, then? Hmm, I think I have an idea for the beginning audio.

What if we use the music for the Wampa Cave from ESB as the opener with Star Destroyers flying around and draw out the eerie suspense a bit. Then use the Imperial March Remix from this combined with some lightsaber fights and ship battles from the original trilogy? Then before the let-down near the end (About 0:35), we switch to either the Han & Leia theme from ESB or the Anakin & Padme theme from AotC (Although I'm guessing most of you will want to use the former) and begin showing the different characters, mixed with a few lighter battle scenes.

What do you guys think?

I liked the mix.

And I think an Episode III type trailer would work great :D

To be honest, I would recommend going with Across the Stars over Han and Leia's theme. I think Han Solo and the Princess is just a little too slow and a little too mellow. Across the Stars is a bit more upbeat and, to me, has a bit more of a melancholy feel. Just some input.

Dark. Suspenseful. Dramatic. Have marching badies, amassing fleets, creepers with sabers, then, if you feel the need for something quicker, cut to fights.
I think that it'd be easy to find video of most of my characters. :)

Hmm, on second thought, I like Sean's suggestion. Across the Stars does seem to fit the darker theme better.

And you don't have to limit yourself to that. There are a lot of songs in Star Wars. :P

Also, a thought, you are NEVER going to conceivably get Han and Leia in there.... or most of the cast, honestly, so I would consider finding clips of them and doing voice overs instead of trying to get actual footage. Just clearing that up. :)

Why not? There are plenty of shots of them from the OT. :?

That is true, but keep in mind that they are going to be almost forty years older in this game, and the face shows that much age difference quite drastically. Unless you somehow work in flashbacks, which I find unlikely, then I can't see using footage as going to work.

SEE EDIT :P

Well, we could use just still images. Still, we could still use EaW footage for action scenes.

Oh, and welcome me to the possiblity of account screw-ups :D

Or since Across the Stars is well...evil...why not go with a haunting rendition of the Force theme?

It's certainly an idea to consider, Solo. It'll be easier to pick music once we have footage though, even just generally.
