GalacTec YT-1500 Transport (modified): Blight Leaper
Captain: Tseneca Lowry-Fink

The Blight Leaper is a small frigate originally meant for small planet hopping but used time over for smuggling operations and cargo transport. It is equipped with crew quarters, common area, large cockpit and bridge, and turret guns forward and aft. The ship has long range sensors, nav. computer, SAMM device and hyperspace capabilities rare for a junker of its size.

Tseneca tossed her blaster aside and it clattered against the deck. She turned to Lucas, almost livid.

"Excuse me? Follow her? You're not paying me enough" she turned away. "Samm, clear atmo and get ready to make the jump to lightspeed. I want out of this system. Better make it Coruscant." she looked at him again. "I'm sure you can find someone there to take you where you need to go? No offense, but whatever you are paying me cannot be worth all this."

her back ached. "Samm, i need access to the med station

the serene humanized male voice came over the ships systems
you're hurt?

She smiled. She loved her Samm, he wasn't just her ships computer, he was a companion to her. She know she anthropomorphized him more then she should, but she couldn't help it. He was too good a replacement for a human.

She stripped off the over-shirt she was wearing, and walked to the common area in her tank-top and dog tags. She looked at her back in the reflective piece she'd attached to the wall. There was a deep cut lancing from her right shoulder blade to her hip. She remembered the rancor scraping her as she crawled out from under him. She'd remember that adventure for the rest of her life from the looks of that cut.

"Its not so bad" she lied, and watched as the med station opened from a panel in the wall. She slowly began to work on her personal damages.

Lucas retreated to the side of the ship, his own bruises and cuts could wait. In the meantime, he meditated on the situation, running options in and out of his head, before giving up the ancient Jedi exercise. He approached the medical site, where she was carefully mending herself, "I am not sure you understand the importance of this mission, I may only be paying you 8,000 credits for an interplanetary flight that should cost a fraction of that, but I would assume the Republic would pay hundreds of thousands of credits, along with any other government out there she offended."

Lucas crossed his arms, "Tseneca, you told me you'd do anything short of killing, or whoring yourself... and I'm asking for either." The male voice was slightly creepy, and didn't help him much in the argument. "Samm, what do you think? What is the logical course of action here?"

Tseneca ripped the med tape with her teeth, her anger growing. Samm responded to Emmetts request.

I'm not sure I know who you are sir, and for that i apologize. Tseneca, i've prepared the refresher for you, its ready when you're done

She grinned a little at Samm's comment. then turned to Lucas. "You are paying me to take you away from Oxanna, i'm doing that. I will not get get involved in your war, or the republics war, or any war for that matter. I've done my time." she pulled angrily at the dog tags she wore. "and besides that, i dont even know you, you're just some kid i picked up drunk at a cantina cause he looked lost."

The computer wasn't helpful at all, and he would keep that in mind. Lucas toyed with the idea of adjusting its vocal patterns, turning it into a gamorrean mating songvoice. "Thanks Samm," Lucas retorted, "It's not a war, it's a single mission. To arrest, and detain. It gets me brownie points at the academy, plus justice for the Senator's family. They might even want to pin a metal, to go with your dogtags. This is a chance of a lifetime, and I didn't just stumble over to you in the cantina."

Lucas wasn't sure if the Force had a play in their meet, but he decided to leave that point ambiguous for now. "I'll even add on a free maintenance and repair, honorable by Kuat Drive Yards..." If she turned that down, maybe he really was on the wrong ship.

"you're on the wrong ship." she growled. He was irritating her. She pointed to the crew quarter doors her right. "Thats your room. I'm taking you as far as coruscant where you can find a shuttle to get you wherever you're going." She walked away, listening as the blast doors hissed and he entered his room.

She walked to the cockpit and sat down heavily, gazing at the incredible array of stars before her. She wasn't cold, she just couldn't get involved in anything. She'd already lost everything, and to start again down that path... She shuddered.

She picked up the tags resting on her chest. One was her's, from back when she worked under the empire, and the other...

The other was Emmett Fink's. Her heart lurched. She'd thought about him every day for the last twenty years since he'd dissapeared. She couldn't remember a time when her mind hadn't drifted to his face, those warm eyes and ruefull grin. She sighed outwardly, that was the price she'd payed for getting involved. She'd payed dearly.

Tseneca, there's a transmission cutting over into our frequency. Would you like to hear it?

She started out of her thoughts. "yeah, put it through"

The static over the comm was overpowering. It was from that woman, Nico's ship. This was worth hearing.

".....Fink...Nico.......copy?"

Her jaw dropped. "Samm, play it again, up the frequency."

I'm afraid that's as good as it gets. I'll send it to you via raw text

She read it three times, trying to comprehend what she was registering. Emmett, the woman had mentioned Emmett. how may more Finks could there be? Then she launched herself out of the cockpit seat.

Is there a problem Tseneca?

She looked over her shoulder at the screen. "Change of plans, set a course for the Extrictarium Nebula"

of course

Tseneca rushed to the crew quarters and slid open the doors.

"pack your bags kid" she said to a surprised Lucas "We're going to Iego."

Lucas felt ecstatic, the lightheartedness he held within the cantina swept back over him, as he launched himself into a semi-provoked hug. "Thank you," he finished the sudden rush of emotion, and realized, "I don't really have any bags," he teased her for the point, but it also proved an issue when it meant he would need a change of clothes, yet lacked that option entirely. The thought vanished, his mind racing against their progress. "I'm sure I will want to know why you changed your mind, but I'll get into that later. I need to research this more…"

Lucas spoke out in the open, "Samm, would you be so kind, and load everything you can find on Vera Nico within the public archives? Additionally, technical readouts on the Firespray-class, and organize them into three topics: Social, History, and Tactics." When and if they ended up engaging her, he planned to have a few countermeasures to the tricks up her sleeves. The dark trooper was a surprise, "And information about her companion, looked like a really big cyborg stormtrooper."

Tseneca handed him the medical kit, "Thanks, if you'll excuse me... I need to shower." Alcohol, sweat, and rancor seemed to be on him all at once. "Unless you need me as a co-pilot?" He beamed...

Tseneca tried not to cringe as Lucas hugged her. He really was young, and to jovial for his own good. She hadn't been hugged in a long time and wasn't sure she liked the feeling. He babbled about in excited nonsense and asked Samm to pull files on Nico.

Voice recognition negative. Who are you?

Tseneca looked upward. The AI had a sense of humor... he was messing with the kid.

"Go ahead and do it Samm, its probabably a good idea to know what we're dealing with. And young master Lucas might explode if he's not being somewhat productive. She walked over to the side of the room and handed the boy a med kit, taking a moment to realize she hadn't asked if he'd been hurt in the brawl. The felt a little guilty at her insensitivity.

There's a 'fresher adjacent to your room, im going to run ship diagnostics before i take my turn. As to co-piloting, don't push your luck kid"

She turned, and the doors slid shut behind her. She went and sat in the cockpit again.

"Samm, do you remember when I had you run searches on a man called Emmett Fink?"

certainly

"could you do it again? I know they came out negative, but that was almost two months ago. I want you to plug in the name of Vera Nico, just to be sure we aren't missing anything"

I'll try my best. Tseneca, I think you should try and asess your own situation before dealing with another. You may want to look into getting some rest.

Tseneca smiled at his concern, she knew it was its programing... it was programmed to help. "I'll do my job, you do yours. Oh and Samm, go easy on the kid, I'm not sure but I think he's a friend."

I will indeed

Silence followed and she listened to the hum of the ship underneath her, the clean cofined feeling of being on a boat, her boat, in space. It wasn't long before she drifted off, allowing momentary peace to rock her to sleep.

Lucas stripped his clothes off, before entering the refresher. He activated the sonic shower, placing his arms against the wall for support. The day had gone by so fast, and now, they would be entering a pursuit of one Kuat's most dangerous fugitives... The sonicwaves moved across his body, as dirt, sweat, and grime began to evaporate. Lucas reached and removed something from his pocket: a pill that sped up the process of his hangover. He needed to be at the top of his game if they wanted to engage Vera Nico.

The information you have requested, is ready.

Lucas jumped, and reached for his clothes. "Thanks," jumping into his pants, before tugging a shirt over his head. Grabbing the medkit, Lucas went to the bridge. "I'm done," he said, taking a backseat with the necessary control panels. "I think Samm can handle the steering for now, while I research, maybe you should take a break." Taking down a rancor, engaging a dark trooper, and attempting to pilot the ship all without any rest, would certainly begin to take its toll. Lucas stretched out his arm, and painted a coat of bacta onto the left side of his arm.

Tseneca was dreaming. It had been a long time since she'd dreamed; she usually made sure of that by taking a heavy collection of sleeping tablets or simply not sleeping at all. The dreams she was having now were obtrusive, things she'd pushed back into her mind where she didn't have to face them, didn't have to deal with them. For they were re-enactments of her past, and she despised them.

In this dream, she was sixteen, a young debutante on Thyferra, the eldest daughter of Rell and Fina Lowry. The Lowry's were Bacta typhoons, the wealthiest Bacta providers on all of Thyferra. Tseneca had lived an enchanted life of luxury on Thyferra, had recieved the finest education. She'd been a princess where she'd lived, there had been no doubting that.

When Isane Ysaard's fleet had invaded Thyferra, the Lowry family had protested. Asigned to keep an eye on her family had been Emmett Fink, a young imperial officer at the time, and after time the two had fallen in love.

Tseneca was dreaming of his face. She was dreaming of the warmth of his smile. She's loved him so much, the way he'd said her name, the memories they'd shared. In her dream they were sitting on her parents land. She was climbing a tree, breaking in the new combat boots he'd given her on her birthday. She missed her footing and slipped, but he was there to break her fall. He held onto her, grinning, and she just stood there for a little while, luxuriating in the warm air, sunshine and his arms around her.

The dream began to turn to nightmare as clouds began to grow over the gardens. Silence took over, and she fell backwards, Emmett no longer there to break her fall. She regained her balance, looking about her frantically. and suddenly she heard the blood curdling screams of people in the face of a firing squad, the violent deaths of the ones she loved. She looked down as blood began to pool around the soles of her shoes.

Tseneca jerked awake, gasping for air. She whirled around in her seat. Lucas was sitting there spreading bacta on his arm and speaking to her. She'd fallen asleep.

"...take a break." he was saying.

She shook the last of the nightmare from her head.

"It wouldn't matter." She said, dialing in on the nav computer. "we're coming up on the Extrictarium Nebula"

Lucas set the medkit aside, his fingers tracing over some tactical information over the firespray class. It was a lethal little ship, that was for sure. "Tseneca, the nebula is a vast, vast place. If we dropped out right where Vera had, that would be a miracle. She might've used a different hyperspace lane too. Get some rest, SAMM will wake you if we find her. A few hours, could make a huge difference."

Lucas continued with his work, knowing that he had the Force to rely on. "It could be hours, or even days before we find her. The odds are, she'll want to lay low, or is meeting somekind of contact here." SAMM had done a great job at organizing the public files, and it would seem as though they might not be the only ones coming to look for her. That Republic intel chick might be arriving soon, but Lucas decided to keep that to himself for now. He'd break it in later. The fact that Vera Nico had also appealed to several government's most wanted lists, hadn't really crossed his mind. She was a Kuat criminal, mostly.

Seems as though her dirty work spread elsewhere...

"Probably" Tseneca said, her mind still cloudy with sleep. "but it can't hurt to be cautious. What did Samm find that was so interesting over there?" She looked at the kid. He was frowning at one of the console screens in concentration. This was a very different version of the young man she'd met at the cantina. This young man was reserved, serious and relatively intraverted compared to the boistrous drunk child at the bar. For a second, she was glad that she had found his company, even if it meant going out of her way to help him out. On top of that she'd have never found out the possible clue to Emmett's wherabouts.
"seriously" he hadn't answered her, out of pure focus she assumed. "What's up?"

Lucas was skimming over a Ryloth Security Press Release when she had interrupted his thought pattern. "Seriously, what's up?" Lucas typed a few keys into the console, and then in a suave manner, flicked the files over to her screen. It was a neat virtual trick, flicking from one monitor to the next, and probably came handy in tricky situations, when certain members of the bridge needed quick access or a snapshot of what another person was looking at.

"Vera Nico had a droid starfighter follow her as an escort to a deal on Ryloth, and a different one to Nar Shadda. The odds are, she has several." Lucas roamed about several more instances, but only two had been confirmed. "We should expect more company, other than Vera, in the Nebula. Not to mention anyone else that might've tracked her to Iego. "Also, in public records, Iego is somewhat hearsay, though there are over a dozen coordinates. All of them spread out throughout the nebula, except these three."

The monitors loaded up the Iego navigation guess-work, "That's our best bet." He leaned back into his chair, glad he was getting the hang it.

Tseneca looked over the files he was showing her. It was a lot of information. "I hope we're not biting off more than we can chew." She said, and chewed her thumbnail. "The Nico search is technically Federal jurisdiction. If we catch her and hold her we could possibly be charged with aiding and abetting, and no one will refute the charge; at least on my side, i have smuggler's status which is worse then nothing. I guess what i'm asking is if that pretty little collection of Jedi you have ordering you around will have our backs in a pinch."

She looked over at him, he was still deep in thought. She continued, knowing he was listening. "And do you really think there will be too many other people who will follow her out this far?" She shook her head. "I guess it doesn't really matter. Samm, do a read out on the closest of the Iego coordinates to try and find one that would be closest to the planet description i typed in earlier."

I already have. The one that matches best is half a days journey from here. Would you like me to begin heading that way?

They didn't have anything to lose at this point. "Yes, please."

She flicked on the auto pilot and steadied the ship on course with the coordinates Samm was feeding the Nav. computer. She turned to Lucas, still reading the screen in front of him. "Hungry?" she asked.

Lucas answered, "Anakin would save us, and I think anyone would be grateful, smuggler or not, if we handed her over. We'd be heroes on Kuat, that's fer sure." And villains. Mentioning Anakin's name brought the fact that he would have to leave for a period time, after the chase for Nico had finished. He had more training, though his partnership with Anakin served both of them well. He was busy with the company, while Lucas enjoyed the freedom. When he was younger, his parents had restricted his travel, but now, he was free to go and do whatever he wanted.

"I do think people are coming for her, she always seems to have someone on her tail. I feel something though," the Force had become increasingly naggy, as the ship steered towards the planet. "There's a disturbance in the Force," Lucas shrugged it off, "Probably nothing though, the Force is always disturbed." He set all the information screens to idle, returning them to the previous designations, while clearing most of the user data he had entered into the pads. "I'm starving, what do you have?" His stomach let out a loud rumble, perfectly on cue.

Several hours had passed since either had spoken, the nagging feeling of sleep deprivation tugging at both of their eyes, and bodies. The ship had safely navigated the dense matter of the nebula, and was making its way towards the planetary signature of Iego.

Lucas had taken several minutes away from the bridge, making contact with Anakin Solo. "Master, we have tracked Vera Nico to the Extrictarium Nebula. She had confirmed she was behind the murder of Senator Della Donna." The holographic representation of Anakin flickered as the Blight Leaper moved through the nebula, "I feel her presence here."

Anakin took a deep breath, his thoughts were always difficult to predict, and when he finally spoke, his tone was equally complex to read, "You have done well, Lucas, but be mindful of the Force. I sense something, a disturbance of fatal consequences. Do not engage Nico, if you feel as though the conflict will be a lost cause. Perhaps I should join you." Lucas shifted uncomfortably at the thought of Anakin showing up, and pushing Lucas into the padawan role in front of Tseneca.

"No, I can handle it from here. Tseneca has a great abundance of resources, and besides, the Force will be with me." A smirk twisted on the side of his face, the inside joke causing Anakin to chuckle before speaking, "For now, I will continue my own leads, but as soon as the situation allows, I want you back on Coruscant. We have much to cover."

"Yes, Master."

"May the Force be with you Lucas, don't allow emotion or ambition to control you, allow it to guide you." Anakin's last words, before the hologram disappeared. Lucas whispered the Jedi words back to the blank communicator, before pocketing the device. "Samm, disengage the communication link." Lucas had a boost in reception from the ship's systems. The ship shook as though a turbolaser had struck the hull…

Tseneca jerked up in her seat as the hull shook and jolted with turbulence. No, not turbulence. She reached up and switched the cockpit to manual, taking the helm in hand. She swore. It was always something.

"Samm, damage report"

Just a graze, no breach. we've been hit by a normal photon beam type 1169---

Tseneca gritted her teeth. "less details, more whats what."

Apologies. Firespray, 31-class ship

"Nico" Tseneca looked out. The planet hovered before her, luminescent. She looked over at Lucas, who was gripping his seat behind her. "If its a dogfight she wants, thats what she'll get." Engaging portside thrusters, she brought the ship about.

"Samm, You're pilot, evasive manuvers are always convenient in these kinds of situations." she lifted herself up and vaulted of her seat, laying a hand on lucas's shoulder. "Ever worked a turret gun?"

Lucas entered the bridge, Tseneca swearing several times, as Samm translated the attack into verbal play-by-plays. Lucas took point to Tseneca's side, hoping to accomplish any kind of use. His fingers raced over the control panels, accessing the sensors as the ship rocked against the strafing runs of the Khan.

"Damn, she managed to knock out about fifteen percent of the frontal shield grid," Lucas relayed, but Samm cut in.

"14.89 Percent, calibrating." Shortly before Tseneca gave the piloting over to the AI system, and asked, "Ever worked a turret gun?"

Adrenaline pulsed through his veins as he nodded, his Kuati and Jedi training flashing through his mind as he took one last look at the sensor readings. "The Firespray will be a bitch to hit, but a well placed ion blast, might paralyze her long enough for our turbolasers to finish the job." It might be impossible to place an well-enough charged ion cannon blast against the Khan, but several more attacks like that, and they might be finished.

Vera Nico was known to play with her prey, but she never allowed them to fully escape. Realizing they might be in over their heads, he gulped and followed Tseneca to the guns...

The Khan was successful in its attack runs, knocking the frontal shields down a notch, before sensing a new problem. Instead of detonating the charges against the Blight Leaper, Vera had decided to wait for the advancing 720 freighter. Now, she guided her prey through a thick cloud of shard and junk metal, bringing the Blight closer to Iego.

Flipping the firespray, she accelerated for another run, but this time, the crew of the freighter were ready for her. Turret fire erupted from the man channels, causing her to spin and roll the ship. She was out of luck, but it was far from over. Instead of a forward advance, Vera targeted the belly of the beast...

Tseneca had strapped herself into the gunner's seat and was straightening her headset.

"Lucas? Can you hear me?" She recieved an affirmative and powered up the guns. "The idea here is to swivel and shoot faster then she can, got it?"

Tseneca, shields have re-calbrated to full power, but we are heading into a debris field. It will be difficult to manuver around obstacles if we pursue.

"Frak it Samm, then we'll shoot down whatever gets in the way."

The ship veered left and Tseneca felt the adrenaline as it dove after Khan. She targeted the right wing and shot, lazer energy shooting out from the turret. Nico tried to barrel roll, but the shot hit her and she only achieved rolling her ship. Shots from the other turret slammed into The Firespray's hull, damaging her shields Tseneca hoped.

"Well done Lucas!" Tseneca exclaimed. She swiveled around readying herself to take a shot at the ships underbelly.

Tseneca there are three undetonated mines in proximity...

"Then move around---"

Detecting an advancing 720 freighter

Tseneca squinted as the ship plummeted after the Khan
"I wonder who that is?" She had too little time to think as a blast of energy blinded her sensors and a sudden intense impact caused her to slam forward into the crash webbing. Damage sirens blared into her headset as the ship shook violently. Whatever had hit them had come from Nico's ship, because samm would have been able to route them away from the charged mines. Her head pounded with fury.

"What the hell was that!" She tore at her restraints. "Samm, damages?!" she paused, there was no response. "Samm... SAMM!?"

It dawned on her in a flash of dread and very real fear as she slid down the turret ladder and made a break for the cockpit, that they were in a whole mess of trouble.

The Blight Leaper has been critically hit by a shot from Vera Nico's ship and is currently plummeting at fatal speed toward the planet Iego

The weight of the control stick was light and quick when compared against several Kuati counterparts. His fingers jolted towards random spacial objects that were too large for the shields to absorb. He had managed to deflect the Khan's third advance, but the cost had resulted in a devastating turn of events. Vera switched tactics, and before Lucas knew how to counter, she had unleashed a tragic amount of energy against their bottom shield grid.

Sithshit! Lucas cursed, watching the red streaks pour over the bottom half of their suddenly fragile freighter. A massive explosion rippled across the vessel rocking it violently, before a loud hiss and a fatal bang. The view had been shaken from the colored nebula, and forced into Iego's brown orb gaze. The chair vibrated with intensity, churning his stomach, as the ship plummeted to their doom.

The Blight Leaper's outer hull screamed against the atmosphere change, howling against the sudden burst of winds and oxygen. Several consoles exploded around the ship, Lucas holding on for his life, as he dreamt the worse. And then, in slow motion, they appeared.

Golden orbs, beautiful golden bodies surrounding the ship, in guiding formation. The Blight's howls were suddenly replaced with the most serene melody, echoing against the ship's bulkheads, in a peaceful tone.

His eyes watered, filling with hope, yet tainted with a sense of finality. They were going to crash, and these beautiful creatures, were guiding them into what felt like a celestial state of embodiment. The Jedi Academy had taught of becoming one with the Force, and perhaps, Vera's turbolaser fire had vaporized them on contact, and this was the passage to the next and final life.

Drops of water dripped from his eyes, emotions of happiness beaming from all parts of his body, as the ship dived into a dark sense of serenity. Maybe they would explode during impact, and he would die under a microseconds Or perhaps, the ship would crashland, and one of the consoles would ignite his skin, creating a painful and slow death.

Whatever would happen, he basked in the glory of the angels, listening to their songs, while attempting to capture the essence of their beauty. To Lucas Pallanén-Davad, life was well, in the presence of these heavenly creatures...

Tseneca strapped herself into the captains chair as quickly as she could, her motor functions working overtime to try and gain control of her dying ship. It was breaking sound searing the edges of the atmosphere as it careened toward the planet. She could see it with her own eyes, the great expanse of land coming at them like fatal vision.

"Lucas!" She yelled over the comm. What was happening to him? The G forces glued her to the haphazard crash webbing. She prayed he wasn't dead. She gripped the helm and struggled to level out the ship though the steering was locked on auto. She then moved shields forward to what she guessed would be the impact site to try and make collision less dire. She struggled to make the lights go back on for the sake of all that was well and good...

And then everything seemed to stop. Blinding light filled the cockpit, washing over her arms her face, and her whole body filled with warmth. Suddenly everything was alright. The songs of angels rang through her mind, her veins stopped rushing. She felt such bliss and the streaks of light that enveloped the ship the knowlege of safety. She was nine, barefoot in her backyard back on Thyferra... She was twelve, and in the arms of her mother... she was sixteen drinking in Emmett's breath as he pressed his lips to hers...

But no. She shook her head to clear it. The light, they were bird things, fluttering and shooting like ribbons around the ship, her ship. They were trying to kill them. She could save them if she could only focus.

She clawed at the restraints until she had freedom to move and grabbed at a panel below the helm, tearing it open and exposing wires below the console. studying it for a split second, she reached in and grasped two at the back that she knew controlled some kind of spark plug that could put the vessel back into manual override. She picked them apart and pressed the dull end of one to the end of another facing front. There was a spark and she felt her arm go numb as the charge ran up her body. She looked up as the lights in the cockpit went on, off, then on again full power.

She heard the screaming of the ship straining against the burn of atmo, the whine of the engine in agony and felt, despite herself, the ethereal loving caresses of the life forms struggling desperately to dislodge her from her keen determination to save their asses. She shook her head and gripped the breaker, pulling up hard on the helm and praying as the ground came closer that she could land the coffin she was in.

They hit, sliding thankfully with the aid of her control, but not much softer then an asteroid hitting a small shuttle. The impact knocked her back against the seat then forward so fiercely that the single shoulder she had left in the crash webbing dislocated itself with a snap. The ship went airborne again, and then down as the nose collided once again with the planets surface, throwing her forward and causing her to slam her head against the console. Hanging awkwardly somewhere between the seat and the helm, cradled somehow by what was left of the crash webbing that may have just saved her life, Tseneca had little more then five seconds to register the stillness of the ship and the glorious intonations af singing before slipping into cool and inviting darkness.

leaving Iego...

They broke atmo with little trouble. Tseneca switched on stabilizers and pressed her hand to the console. this might not work...

"Okay SAMM, punch it"

perhaps i should just give it a slight nudge?

Tseneca rolled her eyes. "just do it..."

Accelerators roared to life, steams of stars poured across the helm as they shot forward. the g kicked in and Tseneca absently patted the console. "good girl... good girl..."

It was a relief. To be back in her ship, it was like being home again. Standing up, she streatched out her back. they were headed to kuat. maybe there she could fix her ship well enough so that she wouldnt have to pray everytime they hit hyperspace.

"SAMM hows things?"

Just fine Tseneca. She'll hold till Kuat. no crash landings and hasty escapes this time?

She looked down at her torn flight pants and her bloodstained tank top. She hadn't washed her hair for weeks. and sleep...
"Actually, I had a shower in mind. and maybe some shopping."

what about them...?

Jonas and Firi. Tseneca didn't answer, but turned and headed down the corridor to sickbay. Lucas there, hed gone right back after they'd jumped.
Jonas had come too, and he was talking with him, tending his wounds. Firi was wrapped in a reflective blanket, one arm her face and hair the only things showing. she was still unconscious, a bacta drip fastened to her forearm

"How are they?" Tseneca asked. she always put forward the appearance of nonchalance. the problem was, she'd gotten to know the two Iego settlers and this time she did care. Jonas had jumped on board to rescue them, and Firi would have given her life to save theirs any time. they were good people. the last thing she wanted was to fail them when they needed help....

"How are they?" Tseneca asked, but he could tell she already knew, just by looking at them. Lucas had pulled Eisley's shirt off, and was delicately wrapping a fabric dipped in the last of Tseneca's bacta reserves. Lucas tentatively looked over to the angel, "Tseneca, I'm not sure everything is right with her." Tseneca moved to study her closer, "She's not physically harmed, from what I could tell... I just sense something... on the inside. I sedated her, I think it's best we wait until we get to my parent's house, before we wake her." Anakin Solo would probably arrive within the next few days, and he was better suited at this kind of thing.

He wasn't entirely sure how to break it to all of them... that his mother owned Kuat Drive Yards, and not only that, but they were some of the wealthiest people in the galaxy. Numbers didn't mean anything when it came to his name, "They will help us make the repairs to your ship, I owe you that much." He nonchalantly hinted towards the fact the Blight Leaper would be in the best of hands, quite literally. His mother hired and paid for the best. Just thinking of her brought a lump in his throat.

"SAMM, do we have system communication ability?"

Negative. The communication dish was severely damaged, we will be unable to contact a ship, unless it is within 200 meters. Even then, I cannot promise anything.

"That might be a problem..." Lucas thought aloud, "Imperial Remnant and Kuat's Defense Force-" He stopped there... everyone in the galaxy understood the lethal consequences of poor communication. He sighed, laying their new friend down. "Good luck with the shower, by the way. I tried to get in there to rinse my hands, and... I don't think you want to know what came out of there."

He was genuinely glad to see her, and to see the stars behind her, brought the overwhelming fact to mind: he was going home.

Tseneca nodded. Oddly enough, she'd felt similarly about Firi. She was so still....

She put her hand on Lucas' shoulder. "You don't owe me anything, kid." She said softly, then went to check on the water reserves.

Lucas had been right, the showers spouted some oily gunk that must have been leakage from the exhaust pipes. She shrugged in exasperation, and walked to the galley, pulling out canisters of drinking water. they would be on approach to Kuat in a matter of hours, using up some of the water to clean herself wouldn't hurt. She left some out for Lucas also, in case he needed it.

Her quarters were tight, but the shower in the back had a drain she could use. carefully, she stripped off her clothes and soaped up, letting the feeling of clean soak in. she scrubbed at her hair, her neck. every scratch and cut. Her arm still smarted from its relocation, she took longer to massage the throbbing away. then, with a happy sigh, she poured the remainder of the drinking water over herself.

She found comfortable close-fitting Kamperdine leggings in her drawer and an olive green tunic with sleeves that would cover her abused arms. she slipped her feet back into her boots and took a moment to comb out the tangles in her long dark hair. finally satisfied, she stretched out on her bunk and shut her eyes.

She dreamed little. And when she did dream, they were of the null bliss of deep space...
