I managed to finish Lair of the Shadow Broker, Overlord, and Arrival in time for the arrival of the semester. Even as loads of chemistry threaten to assume direct control of my time, I find myself thinking about how much the DLC content really enriched ME2. I'm still trying to find Bring Down the Sky and Pinnacle Station for ME1.

I think a lot of us have played Mass Effect (and if not, WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOUR FAAAAAAAAAAAAACE), and we could use something new to talk about. The other option was the Dune movie, and I wouldn't wish that on anyone. :p

I enjoyed ME1, but didn't bother with ME2 after I heard about the whole mining/probing thing. And, as a result, I won't be bothering with ME3, since I wouldn't want to play the beginning and end while skipping over the middle.

I still think that removing the Mako rather than fixing the planets themselves was a major mistake on Biowares part. The Mako itself was FUN!

The Mako is fun once you have complete planet maps. <_<

And the probing isn't bad. And on your second playthrough, barely necessary.

I didn't exactly feel like doing a bunch of stupid probing in order to try to keep my crew alive, or worse, having to play through multiple times in order to accomplish it.

On a side note, any IC posts planned while we're off here talking about this OOC stuff?

*Hint, hint, nudge, nudge*

I kept everyone alive in the first playthrough. And it's way less stupid than driving the Mako up a vertical cliff for an hour to reach Wrex's armor or Tali's data or whatever. <_<

I agree with Moff. Probing wasn't something I felt detracted from the game. The Mako was fun todrive, but when I had to attack those geth bases, I felt I was at a disadvantage with it. It was easier for me to get out and snipe than it was to blow up everything with the Mako sometimes.

I am looking forward to 3, with Skyrim to keep me company until then.

Indeed. That's how I did my hardcore playthrough, since the Mako is too weak at higher difficulty. I had a Level 50 Shep import... so I could just shrug off a ton of hits that would've blown the Mako to bits and dodge anything too powerful to absorb. Plus, massive bonus XP for sniping.

Mass Efect 2's main story was a horrible, convoluted pile of shit. Most of the loyalty quests were very good, though.

And since it looks like Cerberus has gone back to its rightful place as bad guy mooks in ME3 I'm definitely going to be buying that on launch.

Cereberus was never not the bad guy. <_<

:p

Did you get the DLCs for ME2, Cheapy?

Tell that to Bioware. :p

No, but I've seen others play them. They look fun, but LotSB was a bit of a disappointment at the reveal.

I mean, really? The galaxy's biggest information broker is some giant hulking alien for no reason other than to give us a token boss fight? You couldn't come up with a more original idea than that, Bioware?

If Obsidian had been writing that DLC, the big guy would have been a sham and the real Shadow Broker would have been some old guy sipping tea in a villa on one of the Alliance colonies. He would have sent Shepard a message saying something like "Did you really think I would be on some giant doomfortress staffed by guards that have nothing to do but wait for someone to come along? I played you, Shepard; played your ego. But don't worry, you've impressed me. My network is at your disposal."

Something interesting. Instead we got Lair of the Shadow Bowser.

Yeah, but then Shepard uses her mighty FISTS OF DOOM to beat him. >_>

:p

Overlord was good, too. The tank sucks, but the story helps underscore that Cerberus is bad. In case you forgot. <_<
