The Graduation parties had moved into the eleventh day, Kris had yet to pack and prepare for the Coruscanti Cybernetics Program, one of the most elite educational facilities in the galaxy, outside military contracts. He had promised his mother he wouldn't sign his life away, but lost many friends in the process. Though the Imperial Remnant, the New Republic and the Galactic Alliance had sent him scholarship programs, Kris had decided he'd continue his studies at the center of it all. Coruscant. His parents had more than enough credits to fund this themselves, but he had accepted a grant from the Corusc'a Science of Arts, with plenty of credits to fund his nightly festivities. And best of all, his parents wouldn't have a credit invested. It meant he could do whatever he wanted.

"Davad," a voice called from behind, though barely audible over the music and screaming from the guests. Alcohol seemed to sport the joy of graduating, and the rights of passage to careers and their own destiny. "Man, I'm bummed you're not staying on Bastion with the IR."

Kris cringed. The Imperial Remnant, was all it was. Their leadership had been hacked up about a week ago, and the government nearly collapsed overnight, had some new Emperor not been crowned. Emperor Jendob.

"The holo-bands are about to play, I heard that they scored Berlin." Toxd laughed, his body swaying in and out of coherent function.

Kris rolled his eyes. "Ann? Yeah right." His voice was clearly sarcastic, but sure enough, the pop sensation appeared on holographic displays across the hall. The students, or alumni, as Kris liked to refer himself as, cheered with glee. Her latest song, Droid Dominatrix hit the speakers, the beat pounding in sync with the alumni feet, as they jumped up and down.

Suddenly, the holo cut out, a wide range of protests and boos, before an older woman appeared. Everyone recognized her. Every Imperial history book had a picture or holo-novel about her. Grand Admiral Daara Zend.

Her speech was long, and when it finished, the auditorium was left completely speechless. Then chaos ensued. Students cheered, where others booed or remained still. The Empire would face division, and possibly, a civil war within itself. Zend extended a clear hand to retribution, a place where power-hungry politicians would flock to. If she followed through on her promise, the galaxy would cave.

The military de-commission act had left the Remnant in shatters, and with the military and public still in shock with Fel's death, not every planet would sign up with the new Emperor. And even those that remained, the hammer would fall hard. Not even thirty seconds after the transmission, his communicator was ringing. He checked the transmission i.d. tags, it was his mother.

He pushed the button, the party just around him ten minutes ago, was turning into a riot. "Mom?"

"Kris, a shuttle is waiting for you in the Bastion Military Hangars. I've dispatched a group of stormtroopers, they'll escort you. You're coming home to Kuat." Kris groaned, knowing that now was not the time to protest.

"Can I come to Coruscant? Aren't you and Dad there?"

"Kristopher. Now is not the time. Get home, now." Kris acknowledged, his tone still lingering close to defiant. He pocketed the device, before retreating towards his room...

The halls of the Youth Academy ranged from both extremes of order and chaos. As teachers attempted to lock down their students, the graduating class boasted openly of joining Zend's cause. Kris wasn't sure how to feel, but he could tell, other worlds would probably feel the same. The Imperial Remnant, by tomorrow morning, would become a completely different place. Kris understood the nature of his parents fears, they were possibly misplaced that Bastion, of all planets, would defect, though he could sense the dissension among the citizen population. Even the capitol world saw temptation in the Grand Admiral's offer. Would it stand with its new Emperor, or join the legitimate ruler of the Galactic Empire?

Kris opened his dorm, pulling all the critical files and information off his computer, before wiping it clean. He activated the nearby modified protocol droid, nicknamed Eve, and motioned for her to follow.

"Good evening Master Kristopher," her voice was pleasant, it was sexy. It was modelled after the galactic supermodel Lorri Andrea.

"No time to waste, upload everything we've done, I want to leave no traces here." His achievements had pushed the boundaries of his academic predecessors. He just didn't want it to fall into the wrong hands...

"Done." The protocol droid answered, pulling a device from the computer. Her figure was tall and lean, but it lacked a metallic casing, leaving it, in a sense, naked. Bare parts and wires. Without any time to spare, a squad of stormtroopers emerged. The leader took point as they escorted Kris through the halls. It was unnecessary, but his mother was always crazy when somekind of threat emerged against the family.

"Carry this," He shifted the box he was carrying into the droid's hands. She fumbled momentarily, before continuing the steps. He had never planned for the personality program to stay inside the protocol droid, but he didn't have the time to build the exoskeleton he desired. His final project had been the schematics. With an ace behind his belt, and impressed engineers, the road had been paved for success. He just needed access to his father's private labs on Geonosis to complete the work.

The shuttle was a standard LAMBDA, his mother must have not wanted to have him wait for their family luxury line. He gruffed internally as he sat on the furniture inside, Eve dropping the box, as the pilots activated the thrusters. The ramp barely had time to close, before the ship lurched forward and towards an atmosphere exit.

Moments later, the hyperspace-blue appeared around the ship.

Kuat waited for his arrival, and that was something much less exciting.
