I know rather little about SW, I just really love... being here. I have discovered a number of issues like occasionally finding that I don't know things and Wookieepedia doesn't either, these include military weapon distibution (when are you going to encounter a rocket-storm-trooper?) not that it concerns me, military wage curves (who's rich and who's... not), and most importantly, what kind of ship is a Commodore most likely to command?
If we had such a guide not only would I be happy, but we might cut down on the number of ignorant godmodders >_>
In that spirit, I would like to explain that I may not mean the same thing as others when I say "slugthrower". Cheapy has what looks like Dirty Harry's .44 Magnum, wheras Cyrus is supposed to have something like a Sig-Sauer Full-Size P250 in .45ACP (first thing I found w/ 10-round clip) |

Actually, you're more likely to carry something based on the M9 Beretta or the FN Five-seveN. Once I decide which one we issue to the Navy. _________________ Sergeant First Class Kendra Jendob

I figured you didn't issue it >_>
And I don't even know who makes those.
EDIT: Does the P22 3.4" sound okay?
EDIT2: The Five seveN has twice as many rounds, and the M9 pistol also has a lot. I want to have that small, round, number so I can keep track better and so I have the caliber to make people be dead the first time. |

Well, considering we use blaster weapons, and not slugs... ammunition capacity isn't a big issue. _________________ Sergeant First Class Kendra Jendob

I don't. And blasters have downsides. Like if you try firing without drawing your weapon first, the shot will explode your pocket or whatever.
Or if your target is across a room full of glass panes, you can see them and shoot them with a gun but a blaster has to go through one shot at a time. |

A blaster bolt has much more penetrating power than a bullet.
For instance, movie-era Stormtrooper armor is bullet-proof except for a single, gauss-based slugthrower. Blasters, of course, seem to work rather well. >_> _________________ Sergeant First Class Kendra Jendob

No... because there are lots of automatic blaster weapons.
DC-15A
DC-15S
E-11
E-14 (Pretend the wire stock isn't there and magazine is way shorter )
E-19 (Again, shorter mag)
T-21 Light Repeating Blaster
E-Web

YES. Automatic weapons fire MORE THAN ONCE.
But good to know. |

Ams has all of them, and when he walks out to breakfast, he always makes sure his family sees them.... setting the DC-15A near the box of Trix, in a casual, tip-your-hat-towards-me type of manner. |

Could one possibly operate a self-contained, mobile e-web?
Or is there SW version of the M60? _________________ Captain Kelson Ordo

I think that would be the T-21 or DC-15A. A portable E-Web would be like a personal minigun.

Alright. I'll think about a T-21 with a bigger power pack. Though, this being the future and all, there might be new models. _________________ Captain Kelson Ordo

Yer wrong thar, Amz. Two people got the Medal of Honor for taking a machine gun off its turret and shooting down waves of Japanese troops with it in WWII. I saw that on Lock n' Load, History Channel. Gunny even demonstrated. I don't remember the caliber though, and it's not something you would do every day. |

And that was a 1918 Browning .30, dudop. I like the Gunny, too.

Also, keep in mind there is a difference between taking a gun off its turret and using it in a battle and using the gun as a personal weapon. Those men didn't lug it around with them all the time, which is the difference. Ams said there are no personal .50 cal machine guns because, well, there aren't. A weapon like that that you carry around with you is highly impractical. They are meant to be turret mounted, and actually they almost always only work that way. It's only on rare occasions that carrying one around actually is feasible. _________________

And, again, that was a 42-pound water-cooled .30-caliber machine gun, whereas the E-Web is an analog for the .50 caliber M2 (they even weigh the exact same amount). So, while Karen Traviss may well have invented some kind of DETHGUN for her beloved Mandolicious clones that fires bolts a hundred times more powerful than an E-Web at ten times the speed... it's not in this game.
As far as newer models than the T-21, well... I'm working on it. Designing two generations of new blasters isn't easy, y'know. _________________ Empress Shayera Jendob

I'd like to see a few random new technologies and applications for our game. Might be fun. _________________ Captain Kelson Ordo
