The rancor lumbered forward coming at her with surprising speed despite its size. How she was going to activate the restraining collar was another was another problem that she didn't have the time to think through all the way. The beast was approaching fast.

She looked around her, wondering how she could get any higher ground. She tool a moment to register the blaster fire sounding off above her, the smell of burning and alcohol. It was bad, if not worse up there too. She continued looking around frantically. The walls were jagged and ridged with either rock or mud, or both. The beast loomed and let out a piercing shriek, swinging at her with his clubbed hand. She hit the ground, face and stomach in the rancid dirt; the sharp talons went over her, the points scraping her back. She gritted her teeth against the pain but continued forward, crawling on her stomach. Her mind continued musing, the way it always did when she was in trouble. The witches of Dathomir trained rancors as pets and rode them like dewbacks...

She stood and watched as the beast moved his hulking body, looking for where she had gone in the cell. It was too big to see that she was behind it. She had to somehow get on his back to reach the collar. She grabbed at the wall and tried her weight against the nooks stuccoed into it. It was rock, she was lucky. She wedged the tips of her fingers and the toes of her boots into tiny crevices that would have to do as foot holds and struggled to pull herself up higher. She felt her nails tear and her palms scrape bloody against the rock as she scaled it, trying to go as fast as she could. The beast backed up preparing to turn its massive self around and she reached out from the height she'd achieved and leaped onto its shoulder.

It bucked under her, letting out a five-hundred decibel roar of indignation. She hung on for dear life, clinging to its hide and pulling herself into a position that didn't warrant immediate assualt by its teeth or claws. It staggared backwards, slamming its back into the wall she'd previously climbed, trying to dislodge her. But she held fast. Using its rough skin for leverage she dragged herself forward to its neck as it threw its head back and forth with irritation and let out more ear-splitting howls.

Her fingers found the collar and she used it to hoist herself up. She clung to it, examining it against the fierce earthquakes and momentum gyrating under her. Lights blinked on and off, and she pushed all of them over and over again, hoping to whomever was out there that she'd pick the right one.

Quite the Imperial hero, Cyrus was thinking to himself. He had fired one shot so far and had no idea what happened with that. It was time to do something.

He stood up and ran out to essentially the middle of the room. Someone looked like he was about to shoot, and Cyrus quickly got him in the chest, when that didn't seem effective he fired again.

He had heard someone yelling, "Imperial Intelligence, cease fire!" If anyone was his friend here, it was fellow Imperials. He moved to where he thought the voice had come from. Suddenly fire burst up around an upturned table, which must certainly be where the agent had called out from, and he ran for the door. Anything that would give an Intelligence agent reason to leave the fight must be important...

Cyrus fired two shots without much direction and backed out the door behind the agent.

As he neared his ship, Jallorn noticed a Cor-Sec officer taking great interest in him, he was by now walking. "Damn," he thought, "the last thing I need is someone keeping tabs on me." Thinking quickly, he headed towards the ship next to his, grateful that his helmet prevented anyone from knowing just where he was looking.

Lucas moved quickly, approaching a woman pinned behind the bar. His lightsaber activated, hissing against the general movement of the Cantina. It acted as a beacon for blaster fire, yet also calmed the scene. With the smoke, and the chaos, his age held little significance. He shouted, "All right, listen up," he deflected a blaster bolt, "there are bombs in the building." Lucas wasn't actually aware that there were any bombs, but the magic word would clear the arena in a heartbeat, hopefully. "And Cor Sec is on the way to arrest anybody they can get their hands on. Clear out!"

It did the trick, with the majority of nearby people fleeing towards the exits, the spirit of enraged attacks, was replaced with a fear of the law and responsibility for what had taken place here. As bystanders turned into fleeing rats, Lucas scanned the club for Tseneca, Sully or Gavin. Without much luck, he reached out with the Force, and received a general idea.

Deactivating his lightsaber, Lucas bolted towards the rancor pit, and saw Gavin and what appeared to be his companions, standing over the edge. "Is she down there?" Lucas could tell by the look on the man's face, she was, and judging by the massive roar emitting from the chamber, the beast was pissed. A man ran into the circle, his hands holding what appeared to be the control padd for the restraining bolt. Lucas ran towards him, but in an unfortunate mishap, the trainer slid across an alcohol spill, and released the padd into the pit. Without thinking, Lucas reached out to the Force, and jumped downwards.

Lucas couldn't believe his eyes: Tseneca was bleeding from her hands, wrapped around the creature's thick neck, and toying with the restraining bolt. "Hey Tseneca!" Lucas drunkenly waived, "Glad I could find you," he looked for the padd, and added, "Hang on!!” Locating the padd, always called attention to the beast, which roared into a new fury, charging at full speed. Lucas managed to dodge the majority of the creature’s hand, but a tip of a third finger, flung him across the room and out of reach from the padd. Frak, he thought, watching the Rancor roar, and prepare to strike again...

The air was cold as it slipped past her body, whipping across her cheeks, as she ran as fast as she could. She managed to catch a glimpse of two souls a distance behind her, but she weaved in and out of corners. Vera was good, but with two agents, her odds were not as great as she'd like. Playing with the chords of the scene, she came across a blue bag. With only seconds to spare, she removed a wig, and the new set of clothes. Ripping off her pants, and zipping a fresh colored shirt, her identity had changed.

She tossed the backpack over the railing, while simultaneously activating a button on her wrist.

With blonde hair and a red suit, she entered an elevator, with her back turned to the pursuers. She wasn't sure if they would notice her, but she'd pass most visual identity cameras, preventing the addition of CorSec authorities. The doors dinged, and began to close. She heard footsteps behind her, but they hadn't fired. Seconds later, they closed, and zoomed her to level thirty-seven....

She was almost out of the Endor woods...

As the rancor continued to throw itself, Tseneca used every inch of her body to hang on as she struggled with the restraining collar. She heard a yell, looking up for a split second as a wild eyed Lucas waved his arms at her. He was holding something, she couldn't see what, and then stupidly jumped down into the pitt.

"Blast-- Lucas!" she yelled ans was distracted enough to loose her grip for a split second before grabbing hold of the collar again. The monster sent the boy flying to the back of the pitt with one swift gesture. Tseneca gritted her teeth and continued to battle the collar.

It was useless. There was no way she was going to be able to find the right combination for the manual override while riding a rancor that was stuggling desperately to throw her. Then she saw it, the object Lucas was holding when he'd been tossed. It was a control padd! She thought quickly, looking over at the boy who was too dazed to see straight. There was one way... maybe only one.

Tseneca held on to the roaring monster, using her body to brace herself against its fits, and closed her eyes. She'd tried practicing this and always had failed. She'd despised the gift from the start, hated the fact that it was there and knew she didn't deserve it. It was weakness...cheating.

She concentrated, streaching out with the force. She felt her mind grow quiet and the noise and motion beneath her become less worrisome. It was slow going and she broke into a sweat from the mental exertion she was putting out, but as she focused on the padd resting against a rock in the corner, it began to tremble.

It moved toward her and she hung onto it as rigorously as she did the rancor beneath her. It was a matte of life and death, and if she dropped it now...

She felt cold metal against the stinging cuts of her palms and looked down at the control Padd. gripping it with her fingers, she gave it a once over, found and activated the override switch for the restraining collar.

The beast gave a grunt, a sobbing noise like an overgrown feline mewing and then slumped forward onto its hindquarters. It swayed for a split second before collapsing entirely into a resting position, its head lulling forward sleepily and comatose.

The tension in Tseneca's body released suddenly and she rolled off of hulking mass and onto the ground, exhausted.

As Jallorn neared the ship, he saw the Cor-Sec officer talking into a com device. Moments later, he was being approached. Resting his hands on his gun, Jallorn switched it to stun, turning as the officer began to speak, "Unknown mandalorian, I am taking you into custody for questioning regarding the recent chaos at one Oxanna's Cantina."

"Yeah, see, I can't do that," as Jallorn said that, the officer leveled his blaster at Jallorn. Before the officer could add anything else, Jallorn lashed out with the force, pushing the man just enough to imbalance him, then pulled up his own weapon, firing just as the officer recovered, rendering him unconsious. "Have a nice day," Jallorn added even though the officer couldn't hear him. Running again, Jallorn headed to his ship, and, within the next 5 minutes, was already prepping for launch.

Tseneca held onto the rancor's collar, as Lucas began to drift into a different realm. His eyes held onto her as long as he could, watching the beast fall into a low growl, which allowed the woman to roll off in an exhausted triumph. Lucas closed his eyes, his mother's voice echoing into the back of his mind...

***

Outskirts of Kuat City - 26 ABY

The rain trickled from the clouded heavens, splashing first on his cheek, before slowly, the water's tempo increased until everything was drenched. Bella and Damian were running inside, but Lucas decided to stay outside, causing his body to shiver against the icy droplets, with the soft dusk breeze filling in around him. He was alone in the black abyss, with the exception of his home’s light directly behind. Ahead, was the Utiana Woods. It was a a place that filled many children stories of horror and darkness, which later, their parents would always retort, or explain.

He felt something at the time, something he would now recognize as the Force, tug at him to walk into the forest. It was against his parent's rules to even consider the idea, but Lucas walked because he felt he needed to. The journey was tedious, it required looking before he stepped, anywhere, as one puddle could easy swallow the five year old boy. The feeling pushed harder, his body raced against the night skies. Animals were nearby; some were afraid of him, others were waiting to move in for the kill. He wasn't sure what kept them away, but not a single creature disturbed him. At least, not yet.

Lucas came to a stop, his body quivering at the sudden loss of moving body heat. The rain was relentless, pouring down on him, as he found his target. Lucas collapsed to his knees, the feeling telling him what to do next. Using his fingers, he began to dig. Rushing to get the job done before the hole filled with rainwater, he moved in a flawless motion to uncover what had been buried. His brow furled as he came upon a box, though a light impression had already told him what was inside. His fingers wrapped around the edges, and tugged...

He screamed.

The contents were too horrific to describe, and instantly, Lucas collapsed onto the muddy forest floor. He shoved the box back into the hole, and pushed the dirt over it. His body twitched, as a creature rose from the twilight, and into the open field. A Kuati Wolf howled, its eyes not leaving the boy as it approached, fangs exposed. Lucas understood what moment had come, and despite its premature nature, he embraced the fact that he was about to die. In an odd twist of fate, however, the wolf wrapped its body around the boy, and began to howl.

Lucas fell unconscious moments later, whether from the wolf's lullaby, or the last of the deprived energy leaving his body. It was the falling morning, just before the sun would rise, that his mother was reaching over him, and pulling him from the ground. Her eyes were wet, overwhelmed by emotion to say anything, but everything was translated in her embrace. It felt as though she would never let go... "Lucas." she breathed softly into his ears, and whispered that everything would be all right.

* * *

Lucas opened his eyes, very little time had passed, as he rose and rushed to Tseneca's side. "We have to get out of here," he said, a smile growing on his face, "You saved me...from a rancor. A real...live...rancor." The holy shit moment had hit him, he almost died. "Where is your ship? I'll pay you with my winnings case need to get outta here!"

Tseneca just lay there on her back on the dirt floor. She was breathing hard, adrenaline still pumping through her body. That was probably best; she knew for a fact she was pretty hurt and needed a med-kit, once the adrenaline wore off she'd be in nothing but pain.

Had she really just felled a rancor? Not really, she supposed, she'd used its restraining collar to settle him down, it wasn't as if she'd knocked him on the head or something.

She blinked. Lucas was standing over her with that shit-eating grin of his. Thank god for the boy, she thought, or i'd have never gotten out of that.

"You saved me...from a rancor. A real...live...rancor." He said. She frowned. He hadn't seen her use the force to grab that padd? Good, she hoped he hadn't. That was just what she needed, a green Jedi telling her how awesome the force was and how keen that she could use it a little bit. She could imagine the awkwarness of him harping on that. She would be very happy just to keep that quiet.

"Where is your ship? I'll pay you with my winnings 'cause need to get outta here!"

Now that was more like it. A job. "You got it kid". She grabbed his arm and pulled herself up. One of the other bar-goers had lowered a ropeladder to help them out and they climbed up into the utter flaming chaos of Oxanna.

Tseneca turned to Lucas. "What i miss?" she asked, and hefted her blaster. If they wanted to leave they very well might have to shoot their way out.

"Since the explosions, you missed one hell of a bar fight." They weaved in and out of tables, Lucas almost slipping on alcohol spills several times, before they made it near one of the entrances. The place was beginning to clear out nicely, with only the staff, and the wounded remaining. Typically, Lucas felt obligated to help those that were laying on the ground, but with incoming CorSec authorities, his priorities were Nico. "Vera Nico was here, too. Fought her, she ended up pulling a fast one, and blasting me."

Tseneca's facial expressions seemed to require more explanation on his part, "Well, she shot a bottle, a big bottle," Lucas corrected, feeling as though his sense of pride was on the line, "And it exploded, and all the nearby drinks and fodder, exploded... sent me across the room and into that glass mirror..."

They were out of the cantina, "She got away, but she's the one. She's the one that killed Senator Della Donna. The reason that I'm here in the first place..." Lucas decided it required more back history than he was giving her, 'All right. Vera Nico, I'm sure you've heard of her. She’s most known for murdering three gang members on Kuat. Her trial went public, and even pushed people like Ann Berlin off the holo-screens for a while. The gang members were attempting to rape a young girl, but Vera Nico stepped in, and killed three of the four. Which, by Kuati law, is illegal, unless the crime actually occurs; during or after. The act was not yet committed, thus making what they were doing, too short of being a life-punishing offense.

"Vera's trial, however, also opened up other investigations, and over a dozen cases were brought against her. It would appear as though she had saved fifty-three women, but killed almost seventy in retaliation." Lucas paused, "Of course, these weren't all on Kuat. They happened all over the Core. Evidence was sparse, mostly because the victims wouldn't testify. Would anyone put their savior behind bars?"

They were walking along the bridges, Tseneca mostly leading the way, "She was on trial for nearly three months, her prison conditions were less than she deserved.. Most Kuat citizens loved her, praising her for saving children, or women against that kind of evil. I have to admit, my own family didn't mind, and probably would've pardoned her."

They entered an elevator, and Lucas hit the button that marked Level Thirty-Seven. "She was, however, freed; released from prison, by someone on the inside. And ever since, she has moved from planet to planet, killing in the name of justice. No one really knows how many people, but rumors are in the thousands. If not the tens of thousands." Tseneca may have wondered how that could be, and Lucas easily explain, "Nar Shadda's Pearl was a luxury liner carrying over 1,200 people, when she activated a series of explosion-rigged containers. All of them perished.

"Some would defend her, as the luxury yacht happened to carrying hundreds of pirates, smugglers, and other scum of the galaxy, but some were innocent. Kuat's people began to see less of a vigilante, and more of a terrorist. To this day, it's fifty-fifty. People would probably join her, if she asked. Others, might take a shot out of her... Personally, it was fine up to the point of the Senator's murder. Della Donna was a family friend, and now, it's personal."

The doors opened, and to their surprise, the hangar was loaded with chaos, and more death...

Tseneca looked around the trashed cantina and walked over to the bar. the barkeep was ducked under the counter. She tossed a few creds on the bar, grabbed a half empty bottle of Corellian whiskey and poured it generously over the cuts on her hands. It stung like razor blades and she winced against the burning. She grabbed a handkercheif out of her back pocket, tore it length-wise and wrapped her hands in the makeshift bandage; all the while listening to Lucas' story about the gun-fight and Vera Nico.

She didn't sound so bad, Tseneca thought as she followed the kid out of the bar. Kills the bad guys, right, thats pretty gutsy. But as Lucas continued, Tseneca began to picture less a hero and more of a sociopath. She worried a little about the personal vendetta Lucas had out on Nico, but knew it was none of her business really.

She wondered how far the payment to get him off-planet would go... did he expect her to help him track her down. She'd had similar jobs before, but he'd have to pay more then whatever he'd won at the tables. Furthermore, the last thing she wanted was to get involved in an interplanetary political skirmish. That was the whole reason she hadn't joined the imperial remenant after Emmett had dissapeared. She hadn't needed it then and she didn't need it now.

She took the lead, and the two entered a lift leading to the docking bay. She continued to listen.

"I don't know what all this has to do with me." she began, "I figure once i get you off-planet, i can help you get transferred to a---"

The lift doors opened cutting her off as their moment of quiet errupted into chaos once again. She shoved Lucas to the side of the lift, trying to take cover as blaster bolts seared through the air. Tseneca fired blindly against the barrage. This day just continued to get worse...

The hangar was filled with CorSec Patrols, but Jallorn was a nice distraction. He had his money, and he was free to go, and with him, were CorSec's eyes. She moved through out the hangar, several patrols stopping her, but her fake identity passed with flying colors. Almost to her ship, a woman's voice called out behind her. "ARREST THAT WOMAN! THAT'S VERA NICO!" Vera hit the side of her wrist a second time, before coming to a halt. The wig flushed with the small breeze, as two patrolmen stopped at her side. Within a flash, they were both falling to the ground, dead before they would hit.

She whipped around to face a woman that was inside the cantina, the two exchanging rapid blaster fire, before jumping behind something. Vera took cover behind a speeder, knowing that the odds were no longer in her favor. Seeing two new officers running towards them, Vera called out to them, "SHE'S TRYING TO KILL ME! HELP!" Men were easy to control, as beauty was the most powerful of motivators. The CorSec officers drew their weapons, attempting to ease the situation, before firing on the mysterious woman.

Several stun bolts flashed, but none of them made their target. "THAT'S VERA NICO, you idiots!" the woman hissed out, pointing towards Vera. Vera relaxed with a coy smile, before unleashing her own blaster attack. Once again, both men fell to the ground, dead before they landed. Corellian Security Forces, especially under the command of Thrackan Sal-Solo, were not to be trusted. They were evil men, she justified her actions and ran towards her ship.

Out of nowhere, the woman emerged, and slammed a blaster into Vera's face...crunch, her nose snapped....

Coral watched as the woman fell to the floor, blood dripping from the hilt of her blaster. Wiping it away as though it was some sort of disease, Coral reached for cuffs, and placed them around Vera's hands. "Under the authority of the Galactic Union, I am placing you in my custody." Coral signaled the Captain, and any Union officers, such as Imperials, that may have been nearby. Corellia was, technically, out of their jurisdiction, but she wasn't about to let this system take credit for the capture of one of the galaxy's most wanted.

"That's illegal, you know." Vera voiced, spitting out the blood that had run from her nose and into her mouth, "You think the Corellians are going to let you take me out of their system? After what I did to Thrackan last year?" She laughed, but in a way that Coral had believed her. Things would be tricky, attempting to get her out of the system, without breaking too many interstellar regulations. "I'll tell everyone, and people will listen. I'll tell them that you arrested me, illegally. Corellia will demand for you to extradite me..."

Pound. The hangar vibrated softly.

"I'll be a free woman in about three months, probably rescued between my trial and wherever I am forced to spend my lifelong sentence. I'll be sprung, and I'll remember your face." Pound, pound. The vibration was getting louder, and she could see pebbles bouncing against the floor.

"Get up, Nico. We need to mo-" Pound. Pound. Pound., and then she saw it. It emerged in the distance, but even from afar, it looked massive. "Frakking shit!" She yanked Vera from her position, but due to the distraction, Vera's legs moved too quickly, and swept her legs from out and under her. Coral crashed to the floor, as Vera took off towards several ships in the distance. Raising her blaster, she prepared to take aim, when she heard the Click. BANG.

Jallorn heard the dark trooper firing it's weapon, "Damn, this got far too hot. I think I should ask for more money when I get to Iego." As he takes off, Jallorn presses a button, and a panel behind him receeds to reveal a droid.

"Master, it is good to see you unharmed."

"Indeed," Jallorn ignites the ship, taking off, then very swiftly lifts into the air, a bit faster than is neccesarily safe. "We're headed to Iego, I would like you to play a few recordings of one Jedi Master Atris on the topic of academy design structure, audio only."

"Yes master." Jallorn's ship headed out to the edge of the planet's gravitational field as the audio reording played. Eventually, they reach the edge, and the V-19 lept into hyperspace.

Tseneca continued firing. She could see the droid come forward ominously, firing both deadly weapons out of his wrist sockets. The landing pad was ablaze with blaster cross fire.

She continued to press Lucas to the edge of the lift where the walls provided some cover.

This is gonna be over before it starts she thought. She wasn't in the mood for a dogfight, the rancor had taken too much out of her. She pressed a button on the cuff she was wearing around her wrist. It was high time they got the hell out of there/ She fired relentlessly into the maw.

"Samm!" she yelled into the speaker. She heard the calm answer of her ships AI system come in loud and clear.

What seems to be the problem Tseneca?

"I need you to bring the ship about, docking bay three. We've come across some technical issues. Lower the ramp, no time to land and board, do you hear me?"

loud and clear

Tseneca shut the comm down and continued to fire. She glanced at Lucas long enough to meet his gaze.

"Okay Jediboy. Its time you and that glowstick of yours made yourselves useful"

In a few seconds time, she heard the familiar whine and hiss of the Blight Leaper approach.

Vera's goons fired their artillery, unloading what seemed like a never-ending spray of death. Tseneca had called her ship, and shortly after, "Okay Jediboy. Its time you and that glowstick of yours made yourselves useful!" Right, he thought, activating his lightsaber blade. Closing his eyes, his recalled several training sessions with Anakin, and his siblings. Calling on the Force, Lucas stepped outside of the elevator and into the blaster frenzy.

Lucas made his way towards the two, small alien creatures, dodging behind several shipping containers, and ship hulls during his progress. The Force controlled the movement of his hands, swinging ahead of the curve, with just the amount of time to make it to the next bolt. The short aliens stepped up their game, rockets clinking into place, the Force sending him a warning just before. He managed to dodge one of the mini-rockets, but the second was heading straight for his companion.

"Tsceneca," Lucas breathed, using the Force to nudge the missile just inches away from her face. His lightsaber snaked around, moving from his right hand, and into his left, as he concentrated on a nearby box. He failed to muster the necessary concentration to send it flying towards him. A loud hiss, as two ships converged on their position. A woman appeared, the Republic agent that had helped Lucas up, was aiming some sort of device, but Lucas couldn't see the extent of her work.

The sleek freighter's engines homed on their location, one of the ramps descending enough where Tseneca could almost leap aboard. Retreating to her position, Lucas used his lightsaber as a shield. The two aliens, however, were also retreating to what appeared to be Vera's Firespray class vessel. They jumped, the height was greater than Lucas would've thought for their tiny size. Blasters hissed from all locations now, random patrols attempting to stop anyone from fleeing the scene.

Lucas concentrated on Tseneca, before sending her upwards and onto the ramp. With a decorative flip, Lucas had joined her, still wielding his blade as a defensive shield. Vera's ship shot from the hangar, and towards the stars.

"Tseneca, we need to follow her."

Lucas led the way, using his lightsaber to deflect shots coming at them. one missile, shot from the trooper droid came inches from her face before it was miraculously shot down. Lucas and his jedi tricks...

the blight leaper was touching down, Tseneca shot wildly as they moved forward, then as the ramp lowered, she took to a run, intending to leap onto the ship. She felt what seemed like a gust of breeze which picked her up and set her on the ship. Lucas boarded behind her and the ramp closed.

"Samm! get us gone!" she yelled, and the ship turned and exited port, blazing through atmo and leaving the treacherous gun battle, and oxanna cantina, behind them.

Tseneca Lowry-Fink and Lucas Pallanén-Davad are now aboard the Blight Leaper

Her fingers squeezed the trigger of the tracking-gun, the small beacons landing on the hull of the Firespray Vera had taken, in addition to the Blight Leaper. Either way, the Republic would be coming along for the ride.

Laying her blaster on the side, in case CorSec stumbled upon her, she radioed in for orders...

After the smoke had finally completely disappeared, and CorSec had arrived, Gavin decided enough was enough. He gently tapped Boomer on her shoulder and sighed, “get Hammer and Spook and we’re out of here. We’re not being paid to stick around.” The young female nodded and trotted off to find Hammer near the back of the cantina as a uniformed CorSec officer gripped Gavin by the arm, “you ain’t goin nowhere buddy.”

Looking down at the hand gripping his arm Gavin frowned, he reached over slowly and rested his own hand on that of the CorSec officer. Sliding his thumb between his arm and the offending hand Gavin gripped hard and twisted until a sick, slippery snapping sound could be heard. While the CorSec officer was screaming Gavin was suddenly aware of two armed CorSec officers approaching slowly from the front door. Raising his boot Gavin thrust it against the back of the officer with a broken wrist, thrusting him towards his armed compatriots.

Taking the opportunity Gavin turned and strolled towards the door. He reached down and grabbed the body of one of the fallen leaders as Boomer, who had returned from the back sometime between now and when the officer was kicked, grabbed another. As the officers slowly got to their feet, Gavin and Boomer had managed to evacuate to the back of the cantina and escaped out of one of the doors to their waiting shuttle.

Gavin and his NPCs are aboard the VCX-700 Stardust.

Sean smiled as Starbright began to nuzzle his neck. Things were going well. He reached up and gently ran a finger down one of her Lekku. She shuddered pleasantly, a slight moan escaping her. The night was going well, and Sean was feeling lucky. Obviously Starbright liked him at least a little bit. Sean moved slowly but deliberately as he bent his neck lower, clearly intending to kiss the Twi’Lek. Starbright reacted accordingly. Their lips were less than an inch apart.

Smoke. Screams. A flash of light. Blaster fire, lightsabers, drinks spilling. Explosions. Images rushed by in Sean’s mind, seeming jumbled and disorganized. He had flinched back, and Starbright was staring at him, a hurt expression on her face. He now heard all of them. It took him a moment to realize he’d had a brief premonition through the Force. Generally, Sean didn’t receive premonitions, unless it dealt with a life or death situation. Obviously this had.

He became aware that Starbright was screaming and clutching tightly to him. Well, there goes the fun for tonight. It took a moment for Sean to disengage the Twi’lek enough to move, but when he did he grabbed her hand and said, “Come on.” The two moved out into the backstage area.

It was a mess. Smoke was filtering in through the doorway to the rest of the cantina. People were scurrying about, yelling and screaming. Sean moved quickly to the doorway, Starbright in tow. He looked through the doorway just long enough to ascertain there was little if anything he could do. So, he turned his attention elsewhere.

Sean began to talk to the beings backstage, telling them they needed to leave. There was no time for hesitation. Sal-Solo’s CorSec troops would be here soon, and they were legendary for their dislike of non-humans. Most if not all of the being backstage were alien. And so, Sean ushered them as quicly as possible out the back door.

Throughout all this time, Starbright had clung frantically to his hand, not wanting to be left behind. It was starting to hurt, but he understood she was afraid and said nothing. He looked back into the main portion of the Cantina and could see things had died down quite a bit, but CorSec would still be on its way. CorSec was always on its way.

He pulled Starbright along and exited the cantina. His eyes scanned the surroundings as quickly as possible. He saw an armored figure moving away, as well as several other small groups of people. They seemed quite eager to be far from here when…

“You there! Under the authority of CorSec, you are ordered to halt.” Sean swore under his breath and then looked to his right to see three CorSec officers, weapons drawn, advancing slowly on them. He didn’t need this now. He pulled Starbright close with his left hand around her waist while his right drifted slowly to his saber.

“I am a Jedi with the Jedi Order under Master Skywalker, a Corellian, and a member in good standing with the New Republic. Stand Down.” Perhaps that last bit was a little unnecessary, but he had to admit he was a tad bit tipsy… though nowhere near drunk.

The officers obviously didn’t like it, for they advanced still. Sean turned a bit to better position himself between them and Starbright, and received that brief nudge form the Force. They were going to fire. An instant before their fingers depressed their triggers, Sean’s saber was in his hand. The blaster bolts came and with three quick movements of his wrist Sean sent each into the ground. Before his opponents could fire more, Sean let go of Starbright and twirled, bringing is left hand around to send a force push hurtling towards the officers. It was strong enough to slam them into the nearby wall and knock them unconscious for just a moment. That was all Sean needed.

After his saber was deactivated, he pulled Starbright close once again and began to run, telling her to keep up. They made their way quickly through the streets of the city and Sean soon became aware of the sound of pursuit. He just couldn’t catch a break. As the pair neared an apartment building, Starbright told him to stop and took the lead, pulling him inside. In moments, they were in a lift and several more were in a small and slightly shabby apartment. They’d evaded pursuit and Sean now leaned against the wall while Starbright collapsed on a sofa.

After some time, Sean spoke. “So….. you live here?”

She nodded. “So…. You a Jedi?” she said, clearly mimicking him.

Sean laughed briefly. “Yeah, I am.”

“I sure know how to pick 'em, don’t I.” Sean merely grinned at her. Gracefully, she stood and moved towards him. Once again she draped her arms around his neck and once again he didn’t refuse. “So…” she said in a soft voice. “Where were we?” She paused for a moment. “Oh, yes. I was about to thank you for saving my life.” She then pulled him down to her and they kissed.

Sean quite enjoyed it, he had to admit. The kiss lasted for quite some time, and then it became apparent that Starbright wanted to do a bit more than kissing. Sean… very reluctantly… pushed her gently away from him. She frowned at him. “Starbright… I want to, but… I need to get off planet.” She was about to say something, but he kissed her again quickly.

After he pulled back, he added, “But, next time I’m on Corellia… fun times.” He winked at her and she giggled. She moved away slightly and watched him slip silently out the door. Sean soon hit the street and was relieved to find he had lost his pursuers. Well, at least one thing worked out well.

Sean made his way casually towards the hanger, taking great care to avoid Oxanna Cantina in the process. His ship was docked in a private hangar owned by his father, which he was rather glad of when he boarded and checked the holonet. Apparently some quite chaotic activities had occurred in the public hanger, and access was restricted. Most fortunate for him. He didn’t lift off immediately. He propped his feet up on the freighter’s console and thought about what had happened in the cantina. As far as he could tell, it made no sense.

While it seems I was away for all the fun, Sean Tavell is now aboard his ship, Nova Hound.

Kelson fell back against the wall, and took a deep long breath as Vera Nico blazed a path out of Corellia. He took a quick look around him. The destruction of one woman was stunning.

Kelson looked over at Coral, who was sitting on a box next to him.

"Did you tag her?"
She nodded.

At least they had something. If they could track Nico's ship they'd be out of the dark. Kelson lifted his hand and radioed command.

"Intel command, this is 'Berkut,' Captain of Charlie Oscar, Actual. Requesting transportation for the pursuit of Vera Nico. Over."

The line was dead for a minute, before the Republic intelligence dispatch girl replied.

"Uh, roger, Berkut. We are unable to provide transit at this time. You're going to have to find your own ride. Over."

Kelson let out a deep sigh. Typical. "Roger, NRI Command. Out."

He turned to Coral. "They're leaving us dry for now. We need our own ride."

This is the first time I ever posted with a second account, so I'm not sure I'm doing this right...

Also, would it be too much to assume that Nico's explosives went off?

Jarren Callahan was feeling rather proud of himself, having managed to land on Corellia without being captured and slowly killed, despite being a somewhat notorious pirate. Perhaps he wasn't notorious enough for it to be a reason to be proud of oneself, but he was. The crew was taking a break, and he was too.

He had a destination in mind - Oxanna Cantina. He and a few other guys were driving down the street when he noticed something was wrong. The cantina wasn't there. It seemed that it had blown up, and the area was swarming with CorSec troopers.

Jarren immediately pulled the nearest pedestrian aside, a man who seemed somewhere between drunkenness and a hangover. "What did you do with my cantina?"

"It was yurz?" The man paused, and put a hand to his head. "I heard it was some... Nick-o lady. She blew it up."

Interesting. "Why?"

"Well there was all these pirate guys thur, like them dark sun-"

"Black Sun"

"Yesh. All of them people. Nick-o was trying to kill them."

Callahan let go of the man, who had started to lean on hm. He fell to the ground, and immediately put his other hand to his head and moaned.

Eager to get away from the CorSec goons, Jarren jumped back into the speeder. Most of them probably knew his face. Heck, he recognized one of them.

"Let's get back to the ship. Tell everyone to hurry up whatever they're doing, it seems we have a convenient business opportunity." Make the most of everything, his father had always said. It was time to see just how much the most was.
