I'm fine without them, but since the graphic was designed for 'em, the left side looks a little... cut off.

I really liked the scroll as a concept, but in its implementation I don't think it worked. If I could have made it so you could toggle it on and off with the non-scrolling layout be the default, I would have, but that didn't work out too well. =/
It probably would have worked better if we had a much shorter banner, but things just didn't go that way. |

I agree, in sites that I design I always have static content and scrollable content cause it looks better.

I think the non-scrolling banner makes the site feel bigger, personally.

That was what I didn't like about the scrolling tab, it cut down on the amount of space you had to read. It felt like trying to read through a keyhole.
