Hey, I'm wondering if anyone here would be able to help me with a problem I'm having with MSN Messenger since Microsoft is so incredibly unhelpful on the matter.

On frequent occasion recently, I've had this problem where I've tried to log into IM only to get a message saying "You have been signed out of Microsoft Messenger because you signed in at another location".

anyone have any idea how I might be able to fix this problem so that MSN is a little more reliable? :?

It may be that it is running in the background but not, if that makes any sense. I've had that happen to me a few times with Skype.

I can't I completely understand it, but if I were to assume that were the problem, do you have any suggestions on how I might fix it?

I've had that happen a few times to me, too. I just log right back in.

Just use the Task Manager (control+alt+delete) and end the process, then wait for a bit, and try again. If that doesn't help, a good healthy restart of your interwebs could also do the trick.
