"Damian, I want you back on Kuat. Your mother needs you more than ever. Bella has already made it back, and she was on Endor." His fatherly tone was rusty, it had been almost three months since he had spoken to his son. It had been holo-texts and small messages from friends back and forth. "We are doing everything in our power to find him, we've hired hundreds of trackers, bounty hunters, and investigation teams. Every spare ship we have, is running all the various routes leading from Corellia to the surrounding Outer Rim territories... but what we could really use right now, is a son."

"Father, I'm not sure I can do that right now."

"He's your brother, Damian."

"You don't think I know that? I meditate for hours, sometimes an entire day, trying to find something... any kind of blink in the Force. My mission, my mandate right now, goes beyond me. I love Lucas, and we will find him. Bella said it herself." His daughter had a dream, a vision that Lucas was alive, but suffering in a place that would make the Third Hell paradise. Ryan closed his eyes, unsure what his eldest son was saying. "Dad, please. Please understand."

"I'll try. Stay in touch. We love you, be safe." Ryan cut the transmission, just as Alisson entered the room. "Progress?" The Human Replica shook her head.

"The Oxanna Cantina has misplaced many people. The Republic and the Empire are actively searching for several officers currently flagged as AWOL and MIA." She reported, "Vera Nico's presence was officially confirmed at 6:12 GCT." Nico. "Five ships were captured on a planetary stellar-observant probe in pursuit of Nico's vessel. One was labelled as -ight Leaper, the first letters indistinguishable. I've narrowed it down to three dozen vessels matching the size and name parameters."

She extended her arm, releasing a data padd, "The second was identified as the Star Raptor. Owned and operated by a man known as Selanno. The third is believed to belong to a bounty hunter on the payroll of Nico, but we were unable to locate any leads. The imagery provided too many possible candidates. The fourth was registered to a group of Imperial officers, presumably on orders to assassinate or capture Vera Nico."

"And the fifth?"

"Tia Mi'la's Stellar Butch, a shipping vessel with no ties to the situation. Chance. Wrong place at the wrong time." Alisson concluded, leaving the rest of the data pads for his oversight. He never checked her work after their first year together, but with Lucas on the line, he would read through everything.

It had been three days and new information was difficult to come by. Arlyn had announced the information to the House of the Common People, and holo-news networks had picked up on the information rather quickly. The devastation and sympathy was tremendous, almost too much. Ryan wanted his son back more than ever, but Kuat was almost smothering his family. He had asked Arlyn if she wanted to leave for one of the moons, maybe even to Naboo to be with Damian for a few days, but she had refused. This is his home, Ryan. If he's alive, he is coming here, she had said, and Bella had backed her mother's decision.

Droids frantically moved about the house to carry out the chores, in addition to the many house-servants that had been employed. Ryan stopped at the doorway of his son's room, hesitating before he entered. Model kits with completed star destroyers, TIE fighters, and an unfinished Executor rested across his hobby desk. A droid that he had left behind remained inside, and beeped in a tone that reflected in nostalgia. Ryan patted the artificial creature, its unique programming had been rather attached to Lucas since the boy was five.

"He'll be back," Ryan's words were meant to reassure the droid, but couldn't help, and try to feel them himself. P'roo, the family's favorite protocol droid entered, "Davad, you have a visitor. Lady Laara of the Second House has arrived, bearing the Colors of Tragedy, in addition to molto sympathies she wished to deliver in person." Ryan growled, politicians.

"Let her in, and show her to the dining room. Prepare the formal snacks." He breathed, and moreso to himself, "Lucas, get your ass home safe and sound. I'm not sure how long I can do this."

"Pard-"

"Ignore it."

"Dad, he's alive. Get up here!" Bella was overjoyed, in fact, they all were. Alisson moved inside, a smile flashing on her face.

"I'll see you soon, Bella. Contact your brother, I'm sure he would want to hear the news."

"I already did, Dad." she chuckled, he was about to joke about how he was last to know anything, but she anticipated it, "Sorry!"

He jogged to the waiting shuttle, asking the pilot to double-time to KDY.

It was the first bath Tseneca had had in years. Sure, showers were wonderfull, but a bath. that was something entirely different. She sat, luxuriating in the scented water, feeling balmy and content. warm, it seemed for once in her life. plus, the bathtub was huge, and that was always a plus. There was a knock at the door.

"Come it." she sighed, assuming it was the maid. It wasn't, it was Lucas. He was chattering excitedly about being back and the family asking her what she thought"Jeez" she sunk down deeper in the soapy water and he saw he was intruding. The kid blushed and looked away. "Its okay, Whats up?" she was just as embarrassed, but they'd been through much worse together

He told her something about there being new clothes ready for her in the boudoir, about a reception later on, about Jedi Master Anakin coming to Kuat. She drew a curtain and asked him to hand her a towel, drying off and slipping a robe on.

"We need to talk, though." she said. "I know you only wanted me to take you as far as Kuat, but I think I'm going to go after Nico when this is over. Once my ship is fixed that is."

His eyes widened as she walked over to the closet. She opened it and picked her way through the gorgeous attire that lay with in. Silks from every corner of the galaxy floated through her hands like water. Fashion styles that met one era and the next. Her heart lightened with glee. She took out a light blue gown and held it in front of her, teasing.

"Well?" she asked Lucas, and he grinned.

She hung it back up and looked at him squarely. "But really, things have gotten complicated." she sat on the edge of the bed. "I didn't tell you this, but one the reasons i agreed to go to Iego in the first place was because i intercepted a transmission from the Khan from... someone i once new. I think i have to go after her in order to... patch some things up."

She knew she was being deliberately crypic, but, as she fingered the dog tags at her breast, she realized she couldn't tell him yet. she just wasn't ready....

Firi allowed herself to come out of hibernation slowly, the nausea subsiding as oxygen entered her bloodstream at a more rapid pace. The place she was lying was bright and warm. She could hear the trickle of water somewhere in the distance.

Then her brain took hold of the much larger picture, the last few days, few moments of her consciousness coming forth like pure agony. She gasped at the sudden mental and physical pain the memories brought with them. It wasn't so much as she had seen Aquar die, it was that she had felt it. Their connection, forged bonding, had been short lived but so strong that his demise had felt like her arm had been severed from her body. This was why she had hibernated. to keep herself from this. Now it was too late.

Tears came to her eyes and she thrashed, enveloped in some kind of cacoon. she heard noises, monitors beeping, strange people speaking. She hear her name.

It was Jonas. Jonas was there by her side. He held her slender hand in his, eyes locking with hers.

"Its..." she started, her lilting voice shattering her throat. She couldn't speak it. The words wouldn't fit. She whispered softly in Diathim, trying to press upon him the urgency, the trembling shock "Bish th'wak'me lia'thim" nothing but death...

Out of all the worlds, both business and pleasure, Kuat City was one of the most beautiful. The stars were vibrant, despite the city lights, and the sounds of Kau Ocean could be heard in the distance. Arlyn entered his arms, allowing him to kiss her cheek gingerly. It was the first time in weeks she wasn't wearing the dreaded color purple. Her smile had returned, and though Damian wasn't here to experience it, their family was once again complete.

A telburn had entered the room, "Masters, the House of Common Peoples have rejoiced and wish to extend their gratitude."

Ryan and Arlyn acknowledged what she had said, and dismissed her to finish the dinner. "I will have to thank the AmmaRa tomorrow, and most will want a press conference on what had happened."

"I cancelled the business trip to Coruscant, I think I'll spend what time we have with Bella and Lucas before they are sent gods know where.”

“Do you think we made the right decision for them, putting them in the order?”

Ryan hesitated. Kuati citizens were somewhat biased when it came to the Jedi, and didn’t really understand them, yet at the same time, held a great amount of respect. It was a strange and complex social double-standard. Ryan finally said, “Yes, I think with their gifts, they needed to learn from the best, and that’s Skywalker, no matter what you hear.”

Arlyn conceded the discussion, parting to finish her attire for the banquet. Several nobles had been invited, by political means of good fortune. Ryan clipped several gems to his tuxedo, and walked over to pet-project.

Jonas held her, his own wounds healed by the finest bacta spores. It only took a matter of hours... he had never seen such medical care. He held her fingers, caressing them softly. She was so beautiful and it called to everything in his body to attempt to please her. Emotionally, tears were called to his eyes, the angel's spell overwhelming him, and bringing his own spiritual despair.

"I'm not sure what you experienced down there, but I'm sure it was terrible. The weird thing is, Nico rescued you. I'm not sure why they call her such an evil badass...."

Kuat was home. His room had brought back childhood memories as Bella swooped in and plopped herself on his bed. Her dress was beautiful, but it wasn't by a Kuati designer. "I found this in the Outer Rim, Master D'karla and I had saved a seamstress from a corrupt overlord. She gave it to me as a parting gift."

"It's beautiful," Lucas commented, laying down beside her.

"So what the hell happened?"

He drew in a large breath, "I was in the Oxanna Cantina, I was charged in arresting and securing one of the Triad leaders, but Vera Nico showed up." Nico was a Kuati phenomenon. She was loved by the lower class people, and despised by Nobles and Royalty. Bella let loose her own feelings of hatred.

"Despicable bitch! What the frak, I wish I was there. We could've taken her."

“I know, we chased her… lured us to Iego where we crashed and spent a miserable four weeks trying to repair the ship. Demon creatures, all the rumors are true. Flesh-eating monsters.” He shivered, the memories too fresh to explain in detail. He recanted the angel, and how she had saved them from certain death. The Imperial soldiers and Republic officers, the people of Cliffhold, he left nothing out. When he was finished, Bella explained how much she had loved being off world. She explained that Damian wasn’t coming home any time soon, but how he had wished Lucas the best.

“We knew you were alive, we would’ve felt it, if you were dead.” Bella explained, “It’s important that he stays on Naboo, I wish I could explain it. He will… when the time is right.” Lucas was taken back. Damian had been keeping something from him? He pushed it off to the side, it wasn’t something to worry about now, it was a day of celebration.

There was a knock on the door and four females entered, all clothed in the simple colors of red; seduction. The Telburns had been charged to seduce him, but he wasn’t ready for marriage or children. “Bella, do you think you could find them something simple to wear for the banquet… nothing could really compare to what you are wearing…”

“Lucas I would prefer-”

“Thank sis,” he parted with a grin, and jogged to the other side of the Estate. It took him a good three minutes to pass all the rooms, before he arrived to Tseneca’s secluded area. He knocked on the door, and without an answer, he entered. He heard the swooshing of water. She was taking a bath, debating whether or not to disturb her, he knocked and entered, blushing at her small annoyance.

"We need to talk, though." she said. "I know you only wanted me to take you as far as Kuat, but I think I'm going to go after Nico when this is over. Once my ship is fixed that is…” He remained silent. Once the Jedi Order, especially Anakin, heard about Nico’s involvement, he’d be positive they’d be charged to bringing her in. Lucas sat against the opposite marble washing station, staring at her as she picked a dress from the closet. He grinned as she placed it up against her body and asked, “Well?” She hung it back up, and started talking again, “"But really, things have gotten complicated." She had moved to the edge of the bed. "I didn't tell you this, but one the reasons I agreed to go to Iego in the first place was because I intercepted a transmission from the Khan from... someone I once knew. I think I have to go after her in order to... patch some things up."

Lucas thought about it for a moment, “No. You’re not going.” He used the Force to snatch the dress back from the closet, and tossed it to her. “At least, alone. I’m coming too, but there are things we need to do before we can go after her. I’ll explain later, but first, we need to do this dinner thing.” He hesitated to inform her of the next piece of information, “Firi, Jonas and yourself are all invited to a banquet, but… so are a few political magistrates from the House of Common Peoples. It’ll be small talk, the annoying crap that drove me crazy as a kid, but we just need to stay for til the third dish. After that, it is typically customary for the children and guests,” he left out the part about lacking nobility, “to leave the table.”

He chuckled nervously and opened the door, and strode out… all four of the Telburn servants fluttered as he did, then glared inside at Tseneca. He used the Force to close the door.

A banquet? She frowned at the closing door. She hadn't been to a banquet since she was sixteen in her parents compound. She grinned. he wanted to go with her. the very thought made her... happy. for once, she felt like she was... less lonely... as much as she hated to admit it.

She chose a dress, the light blue one she'd been playing around with earlier. it was antique, made from sheer aderanian silk with a high waste and floor length train. she hoped, as she twisted her hair elaborately up in a chignon that she wasn't over dressed. Her lack of jewlery or long gloves would certainly show a vagrant in a borrowed dress.

She gazed at herself in the mirror. Being with a family, a family of diplomatic noblility for that matter, made her long suddenly for the life she'd once led.

She shook her head, opening the door. Waiting outside, two elegantly dressed, handsome man-servants-- Telburn's, Lucas had called them-- waited to escort her to dinner.

Firi held onto Jonas, struggling to allow the pain to subside. He was helping. His warm pulse filled her ears and she sat up and looked around her. Her wounds had been healed by doctors here, her wings regenerated.

"Where are we?" she sighed, knowing she was no longer on Iego, and more than happy for that fact.

"Kuat, one of the core planets." Jonas gave her water, which she drank slowly. "Dont be frightened. Both you and I are in unfamiliar territory. Are you alright? what happened to you in those caves?"

Firi nodded. "I want to tell you. Another time, perhaps? soon? I sense urgency."

Jonas sighed. Not Urgency. A party. Soon, we need to be going to a banquet held by the estate. I would like to tell you we don't have to go, but decorum..."

"I don't know this word." Firi was short with him, impatient for the first time in a while. "but I assume you mean its best?"

Jonas took her hand. "If it were up to me, we'd stay...." He reached over to the bedside drawer and pulled out a linen box. "Lucas wanted me to give this to you. Its a dress I think..."

Firi opened the box and touched the fine satin of a sheer light gold evening gown. Her sadness deepened.

In less then an hour Jonas was escorting her as she floated down the stairs to the main dining hall....

The dinner chatter was casual and very typical of the occasion. Low voices and conversation about the dismal decorations displayed at the Palace, yet speaking in a way that wasn't necessarily offensive. Afterall, the majority of Kuati took the palace with warm hearts and pride... it was the only thing that separated them from the chaotic dogs of Coruscant. Lucas had been whispering to Tseneca when Jonas appeared, and in his hands, the most beautiful creature he had ever seen. Iego had put the natural touch to her, but with the dress and the moonlights, she radiated.

One of the Telburns dropped a plate, which typically would be a disaster, but no one in the room had noticed. All eyes were transfixed on Firi. "My goodness," one of the older Nobles, who went by Zekkus, let the words slip from his mouth, "Alatáriël, you know how to compliment your guests. She is dazzling."

"A friend of Lucas, actually." Rather than speaking about the woman, Arlyn directed her attention to the angel, “You look beautiful. If there is anything you need, anything you want, please let myself or one of my servants know.” The quiet melody of the small orchestra continued to play, their pause also unnoticed.

Jonas sat down next to Lucas, and Firi beside Tseneca. “Aren’t you going to say how nice I look?” Jonas teased, keeping his voice low. “Lords and Ladys, these are the people who had valiantly saved my life: Tseneca, Jonas and Firi'Taknik,” he decided to leave last names and planet origins out of the mix, because he wasn’t quite sure how to answer for either of them, except Firi. “I am honored, as are my parents, that all of you were able to grace us with your fine company.” He took a minute and spoke in Kuati, “K’la koo anamatri.

His mother, as per tradition, was the first to raise her glass and repeat the words, “K’la koo anamatri.

And for non-native speakers, his father translated: “Best health to all in company.” And in unison, the banquet took their first sip, as the Telburns brought out the first dish.

Round One starting, two more to go… Lucas thought, hoping everything went well.

Jonas kicked Lucas under the table as he was talking, but only took a brief pause before he resumed as though it had never happened. Moments later, he whispered, "I have a brother you know, I'm immune to that." Jonas laughed, maybe a bit louder than he should have, as a woman with a raised nose gave him a sharp glance.

Bella, Lucas' sister, leaned in, "That's Risella, she's a prude." Her voice was low, and Jonas kept his laugh accordingly. He sipped the last of his soup when someone interrupted with, "Tseneca, where are you from? What do you do?" Jonas gulped a large portion unexpectedly, and turned his attention to her... just like everyone else.

Tseneca gulped as all eyes fell on her. What was she to say?

"Th—Thyferra." She played with the flute of her wine glass, nervous and edgy.
She felt Firi's fingers circle her's beneath the table in an effort to comfort her.

"Ah Thyferra!" Said a portly man on the other end of the table. He was drinking correlian gin beside his wine glass. "Quite a place. Tell me, have you been home lately?"

"N-not for many years". Tseneca lifted a napkin to her lips in an effort to conceal her unease. "I left when I was much younger."

"Facilliatre Dmtir Bakh-Lowry is quite the entrepenuer..." a thin woman turned to the portly man who'd raised the comment before. "What he's done with production along the Rimma was inspired. and the way the cities have transformed..."

"Excuse me." tseneca was startled into shock "D-did you say Dmtir Bakh-Lowry?"

More eyes faced her. Disturbed at the interruption, the thin woman looked at her sharply. "Quite. Facilliatare Bakh-Lowry. where would we be without Zaltin and Xucphra's generous Bacta supply." she good humourdly raised her glass to the attending company, and others drank the half-handed toast.

"Tseneca, are you alright?" Lucas was looking at her. She must have been pale. at least she felt pale. For all her composure, all her slowed demenor, she'd meant to stay silent through this meal. But the shock of hearing this, it has sent her reeling. For all this company did not know Dmtir Bakh-Lowry was her father's brother. He was her uncle.

The Second Course had just begun when the Thyferra question had popped up. Thyferra was a sensitive issue and the way she reacted to the bacta tycoon proved rather interesting. He wasn't the only one to pick up on it, as his father quickly changed the subject to something much more boring. Bella shot a worried glance in their direction, but decided to go against her better judgement and stay out of it. Jonas gave him a smile, a simple unspoken indication that they had cracked something about the woman.

"Firi, how are you holding up?" He hadn't seen her conscious since Iego. It was rude of him, but the fact was, he found it hard to face her. Maybe it was wrong to take her with them, but she deserved a chance to see the outside galaxy... perhaps one day, she'd return to Iego, but for now, she was with them. She wouldn't be an outcast on the Blight Leaper, they were all broken people, at least in their own ways. Tseneca and her secret past, something Vera Nico had stirred up. Jonas and the loss of identity and his family. And himself, the noble-jedi avoiding his destiny. It was weird, but Lucas began to feel as though he had found a second family.

Attempting to cheer Tseneca up, he boasted to Bella, "We drank soo much on Corellia, she started to see stars, but when the blaster bolts started to fly, she was quicker than Solo himself." Bella inquisitively looked in Tseneca's direction.

"He's exaggerating," she remarked, her mood slowly improving.

"Not really though, that's the funny part." Lucas laughed, "I actually won a lot..." He had completely forgotten his winnings, "I think it's enough to take us all out for a night on Kuat City, catch a couple Kua Shows, dinner at MaKuanies?"

Bella grinned, "That would be fabulous! I love that idea! Oh Firi, you'll love it on Kuat. I promise. There are so many little shops that you cannot find anywhere else in the galaxy! I'll be sure you leave Kuat with everything you need to face the rest of the universe!" Lucas tossed her a worried glance before rolling his eyes.

"Here, here!" A noble woman rose her glass.

"Kau shows?" Jonas asked, before forking a large quantity of noodles into his mouth. The rich snob made a sound of disapproval, but he couldn't help it. It had been over a year since he had anything this good. Bella was polite, the younger sister that never seemed annoyed by all of their questions. He had never been on Kuat before, and this high society crap was new to him.

"Yes, they are really quite fantastic. You never been to one, I'm assuming." Her voice was proper, ignoring the interested gaze from an older man across the table, "Kau is a general term, there's plenty to do, lots of entertainment. You've heard of gladiator type sportsmanship? Those are my favorite. It's much more civilized than the Outer Rim..."

"Depends on which arena you go to," Lucas injected, "Mom usually makes us stay in the family-friendly zone, but-"

"Lucas."

"Right, sorry." He gave the woman an angelic face, but winked to the rest of them.

Bella chimed in, "Shopping, of course... galactic market-style. Only, high quality items..." They were all pricey, but it wouldn't be a problem, Bella must've reached the same conclusion as she skipped over the next, "Droid races, father's favorite, podracing, water-treading... opera... you name it, its there."

"Oh to be young again," one of the women exclaimed, "When I was but a young lass, we enjoyed the roller-derby. Have you ever seen a gungan attempt it?" She chuckled, holding her fingers under her nose, but the snort came out any ways.

Jonas beamed, "Sounds like fun, I'm game."

The evening had gone rather well, considering the nobles' presence. Ryan kissed her cheek fondly as the third meal arrived, the boy next to Lucas embracing it with just as much enthusiasm as he had to the last dish. Her eyes skimmed the table, overjoyed at the fact the majority of the planetary politics had subsided from the meal and general conversation had taken everyone. It was rare, but she basked in it nonetheless.

The Telburns cleared and filled up plates as each member finished or started on a new serving, glasses were refilled flawlessly, the harmony of the house staff going everso smoothly. "Firi, why don't you share a little about yourself to the table, we are all eager pioneers by blood, and I think it's safe to say, we are all modestly curious about you."

If the woman was shy, a Telburn was waiting for bring in the final dessert. Arlyn was sure that anything the angel had said, would've pleased the guests. She wasn't putting her on the spot, but showing her that it was all right to open up a bit.

It wasn't that she was not pleased by the evening. the night was filled with sights, sounds, smells that she had never experienced. this was the world she'd always dreamed of. Her father's world.

Sadly her heart wasn't in it. to her, the celebration was stale and premature. Even in the darkest times, she had been a happy person. Even outcasted and left for dead she was content to be as she was. Now what she was was empty. Since the death of her friend she felt so lost.

She felt a sense of unease as the beautiful human woman gazed at her. welcoming her to speak. She swallowed, trying to calm herself. they were curious about her. She did her best to be polite.

"I've always lived on Iego. My mother was a Diathim by birth, my father was human. I never knew him"

One of the dignitaries, a shorter man with a mustache gazed at her. "a hybrid. Fascinating"

"I'm not familiar with this word...." Said Firi.

A pudgy woman lifted her nose. "It means half-breed." the way she spoke the words sounded like dirt on her tongue.

Firi's muscles quivered beneath her wings.

Lady Pallanen-Davad waved a hand dismissively. "I'd be so interested to hear of Diathim culture.... Iego is such a hostile planet. we are told stories of the Demons from the time we are young. they warn us as children not to venture out into the dark"

there was soft laughter as Firi looked at her. The woman's eyes were kind behind her regal and aloof appearence.

"Iego is quite harsh for offworlders. Many who venture their do not survive. My people are ruthless and prefer to take despite their aesthetic beauty. The Maelibus too, are not to be trifled with...."

"As.. excellent as these faery stories are, we have heard them all." Said the Portly man who earlier had been discussing Thyferren politics. "Tell me lovely. Do you fly?"

Another, much younger man piped up "Yes. I also hear the voices of the angels are like none other."

"I hear" Said another woman "That you can do things with your mind, cause others to feel pain or fear or happiness with only your thoughts."

At this, some at the table drew away from her. Firi felt herself tense once more. Anger was such an emotion she had not felt and rose in her chest with piercing stregnth. She was unnacustumed to it and for all the patience she had always had she cold not let it rest.

"Ah, so you wish for parlor tricks." looking dower, She raised a hand and, with a flick of her wrist, the lights went out in the room.

The hall was leant to momentary chaos, and by the time the lights came back on, by the time people had settled down, Firi had made her way silently and swiftly out of the room.

The room had become stuffy, although it could have easily been Tseneca's discomfort. Talk of Thyferra had riled her. She hadn't known that her father's brother Dmtir had taken over her father's corporation. she'd left her homeworld so quickly that there would have been no way of knowing, and so grieved was she by her family's murder that she'd never looked back. She'd never guessed that extended members of the family would take over the business.

She remembered Dmtir as being cold and overbearing. He was devestatingly right wing. In favor of xenobiological purification. The Vatrix, native Thyferrans he believed were filth and should be driven out. He thought her father weak for his ideals, and so naturally she disliked her Uncle very much. the idea of his controlling Thyferra's trade routes as well as holding governmental control made her blood run cold. but thats behind me, she thought.

Suddenly the room went dark. She felt Firi shift on her side and slip away. Tseneca closed her eyes until the room regained control again. She'd had a feeling something like this would happen. There was something terribly wrong with the Angel, something so different in the being that had rescued them during the crash. something not right.

She looked at lucas when the lights had returned to normal. He was cradling his head in his hands. To him, the dinner had been going very well. She leaned over. "We need to do something about Firi..."

Lucas had forgotten about how the higher society of Kuat felt the need to push themselves onto guests, and began to feel as though this was a terrible first impression of the planet. Tomorrow he'd show them the better side... Firi needed to experience what it was like to be human, outside of Iego. The third course was much more quiet from him and his friends as they finished the garden salad, soup and either vegetarian or meat accompanied dish. At the end, his father had dismissed him kindly, allowing them to digest and rest.

He moved against the stairs slowly, recanting all the many times he had down this before. "We should talk to her before we go to bed," the Jedi side of him was taking point now, "She shouldn't have to sleep without knowing how we are all there for her." Lucas had wished Firi had been saved from the experience inside the tavern, and that was what had really bothered him. It created a mental block from the woman, a thick part of it being guilt and self-doubt of his own abilities. He had failed to rescue her.

"We should also contact our friends from Iego, and make sure they all got to their destinations safely..." Lucas thought aloud, humming an old Kuati lullyaby as they entered Firi's room...

He watched the children go, envied by their excuse to leave the table. He would here for another hour at the least, and even after, being prolonged in long and boring political discussions. Arlyn's hand wrapped around his thigh, fingers tracing along it gently. His flight excuses were tempered, as he laughed at the portly man's joke. Kuati were certainly proud people, generations upon generations of pride... all building up, but to what, exactly?

"Tell us Ryan, how is the droid business in this unique time of peace in the galaxy?"

Ryan dabbed his mouth with a napkin, before setting it back on his lap, "Really well. I sold Cybot Galactica, as most of you know-" a man obviously not informed let out a "What?!", but Ryan continued without skipping a beat, "The business was boring after a while, if you catch my drift. I made enough credits over the decades, and between those at the table, a substantial amount during the buyout negotiations. I am in the processing of starting a new company, one that will serve unique purposes. I think of it as an early retirement."

"Good show, Ryan."

Arlyn smiled, "It allows him to be home on Kuat much longer than before, and I've enjoyed that." The women chuckled, as the men boasted huge grins of 'attaboy'! Ryan laughed, knowing the evening was far from over...

When the humans barged into her room Firi was reclining on her bed , her evening gown spread around her like a wilted flower. Her pillows were soaked from tears and her mind felt blank.

She felt the bed sink in as Lucas sat by her touching her forearm. "I'm sorry to have made you come out so soon after recovering..."

She could feel his genuine remorse and felt badly. Her fingers circled his wrist. "I ruined your party. I hope your mother doesn't think me ungratefull. I'm just..." she trailed off.

"What happened?" Tseneca stroked her hair from her forehead. providing a cool towel from the washroom.

Firi hesitated, then told them the whole story, from the time she was taken by Aquar, to the moment she lost consciousness after his death. her eyes filled with tears as she described her friend, the forged connection. Love. for, in all manners, it was then she realized that what she was feeling was indeed heartbreak.

Lucas frowned. "from what you describe, he was force-sensitive. that was the only way he could have done some of the things you say."

She looked out onto the open balcony, where stars shone through and the crisp night air struggled to revive her. "Be that as it may, i feel.... severed."

Tseneca looked at Lucas, then at Jonas who had remained silent this while. She put her hand on the younger ones shoulder and bade him "go. talk to your parents, sleep. I want to talk to her alone..."

Both men looked at her strangely. questioningly. but they left, and the two women conferred.

Tseneca told Firi everything. She finally shared her life with a being who was not cybertronic or anything besides. She told Firi about her life on Thyferra, about her family, about their deaths and finally she told her about Emmett. She relayed to her the way it felt to have him torn from her, her life alone, living with the guilt and shame of never being able to find him. her loneliness.

Firi watched her with shining eyes, and when the story ended, Tseneca found that she too was weeping.

"I guess what im trying to say by all this is." Tseneca stroked the angels hair again. "loss is no simple matter. We all pride ourselves in our strength, but then all that is, when it comes down to it, is simple pride."

The angel, for being ancient, was so young, thought Tseneca. And what she's lacked all this time was someone to be close too. her heartache was natural, and made more poignant by the delicacies of her species. But Firi had been around to help her survive when she needed it most, and the most Tseneca could do was reciprocate the action. By telling the angel her story, she was letting Firi know that she had a confidant in her.

Tseneca sat Firi up, cradleing her like a child in her lap, and began to braid the angels flaxen hair. "Your heart will mend, but the feelings will forever exist. You have entered a new and strange world, a life that will take some getting used to. But we, all of us, we'll be here for you. At least, I promise, I will be."

When dawn broke the next day over Kuat, a new, warm sense of peace accompanied it.

"Why did she kick us out?" Jonas protested.

"Girl chit chat time. Broken heart exchanges, probably flick on a holo-mance. You know, the stuff we were lucky to avoid." He did feel genuinely terrible about Firi, and her first love (especially the part about the man being violently murdered in front of her eyes) served a new notion. Nico had actually attempted to save the angel. Hm, twisted. He thought.

Two beautiful Telburns appeared and what looked like a rummaged bottle of Kuati alcohol. "Hello boys."

Jonas had entirely underestimated the power of a good night's sleep. Perhaps the finest bedroom he had ever seen, let alone, the mattress was designed to adapt to the user... so it was perfect. Jonas yawned as the Kuati sun streaks peaked through the curtains, lighting up the tranquility of the planet. He envied those that lived here, settled down and going about the daily business. Even though the political snobs from the night before, he couldn't help but fall in love with the scenery. It was terraformed to become paradise, and it was exactly that.

There was another yawn, only it didn't come from the doorway, or anywhere else in the room, but from the bed. Jonas crept over and swept the covers. Lucas?!

"Dude?"

Lucas, now officially startled, jumped up. His hands extended, "What? Where? Why?"

Jonas scratched his head, obviously amused by his friend's reaction. "Look," he pointed to an open bottle of Kuati Rum. "Did we drink last night?"

"I don't think so..." Lucas thought, "I never really drink, not my thing."

Jonas nodded, "Same. Well, did you just fall asleep there?"

Lucas shook his head, "This is my room, bro. Well, part of it. Sort of the Telburn part of it. If ever one was needed."

There was a second yawn, causing Lucas to leap across the room. He used the Force to collect the remaining blankets. Two girls were there, snuggled together. "Oh my gods."

There was a knock on the door, Mrs. Pallanen-Davad's voice somewhat muffled by the door, "Hello? Are you up yet Lucas?"

Lucas cringed, "Yes mom, I'm changing, don't come in!" He frantically ushered them into the closet, Jonas now reeling with entertainment as he stepped inside with the two girls, both practically nude. He put his fingers over his lips, as the door swooshed open. "Mom!" He let out, the latter portion of the word going up in a high pitched squeek.

"I thought I heard voices in here!" she teased, Jonas and the two telburns stopped breathing, he could see her approaching the closet.

"What's for breakfast, my friends should be getting up soon. I want them to experience the best Kuati breakfast, available, because breakfast is awesome. Best meal of the day-"

"For Corellians, perhaps. We value dinner, remember your heritage?" she backed away, but Jonas swore he had made eye contact with her. "Hurry up, I want to see you before I leave for work."

"Yeah, I will!" He shouted at the closing door. Jonas finally cracked, laughter exiting his body, unable to control it. "Dude, what the hell happened last night?"

The girls giggled, as they put their clothes back on, "You guys are wild. Thanks Lucas, Jonas..." they each blew two kisses, one for both of them.

"What do you mean?"

The girls said, "Let's just say...we felt a little ignored."

"Ta-ta!" the other girl said, exiting the room and running down the hallway.

"Ignored, why did they feel ignored?"

Lucas gulped, "Let's not talk about it." Jonas wanted to question him, but he was being pushed out, "Go change. See you down in the breakfast room."

"There is a room for awesome breakfast, best meal of the day?" Jonas teased, as Lucas shut the door.
