The mass froze. Anakin and Lucas stretched their hands upwards, Lucas straining to keep his end of the cooling conduit lifted. "You're doing well," Anakin commented, "And, if I didn't think you could handle this, I wouldn't do it." Anakin bolted from his position, sliding under the massive cooling conduit, and into the fray with Kyp again. Lucas breathed, his body tense with sweat just to maintain the speeder-sized object from crushing him.

"Master!" Lucas called out, his tone full with annoyance. But he was right, if he didn't think he could handle it, Anakin wouldn't have left. Attempting to regain control of the situation, Lucas breathed. Some of the other Jedi seemed worried, perhaps moments from lifting their own hands to assist. "I got this." Lucas reassured them, his heels digging into the clean pavement, before he pushed the conduit aside. It hit hard, cracking the marble and shattering a nearby vase. Looking around, he could see one of the librarians from the Archive section shaking her head in disgrace. "Blame Durron!" Lucas called out to the older lady, before racing towards the whirl of lightsabers.

Lucas called six metal plates to his aid. The larger of the six rose, allowing him to jump onto it. Using it a flying disc, Lucas shot towards their location choosing his next target. Hovering above Anakin, perhaps out of sight, he shot all five into his Master's body. They impacted much softer than they would've in a real fight, but it was enough to daze him. Leaping next to him, Lucas touched his shoulder. "Tag, you're out." Before using the Force to push the older man aside. Solo quickly recovered, using his outstretched palm to steady the push. The plates came alive again, this time, surging towards Lucas and Durron.

Durron repelled them easily, but Lucas wasn't in this to lose it. Lucas swiped the older Jedi off his heels, hoping to catch him off guard. He had, successfully, only to watch the Jedi slide across the floor and roll into a perfect stance. Anakin emerged, the duel had formed a perfect triangle. Lucas breathed harder than the two, which he found difficult to believe, given their age differences. "Finished yet?" One of them stated, Lucas couldn't tell who, as he had forced his body into the air. His arms coiled, as he brought all the power and adrenaline he could muster, and then shot it at his opponents...

Kyp had been around the block enough times to know what was about to happen. Despite that fact he knew he only had enough to one of two things. Either way it was going to hurt. Kyp shot his right hand out while deactivating his lightsaber and force pushed against the invisible wall headed his way. It would only dull the impact as Kyp was swept off his feet and was sent tumbling away, irregardless. As the Jedi Masters tumbled away Lucas was already regaining his footing and on a crash course with Kyp.

Knowing he wouldn't have enough time to regain his footing Kyp stayed down and lifted his legs as the Jedi Apprentice took a swing. The strike missed and scorched a line into the marble floor where his boots had just been. Before Lucas could strike again Kyp kicked out and connected with Lucas's thigh. With the Jedi's temporary immobilization he found enough time to slide on his back and regain his footing. As soon as Kyp was up he found himself pushed back again, this time Anakin.

Kyp skidded across the floor again but this time was able to regain his footing. Anakin's emerald lightsaber crashed and cracked against Lucas's as the pair pushed further through the temple. Kyp caught the floor under his boots and sprinted to catch up. Once with striking distance Kyp jumped, spun diagonally, and reignited his lightsaber. For a moment Kyp wasn't sure if he had over shot it until he noticed that his blue lightsaber had crashed down onto Lucas's. Anakin had moved out of the way at the last moment. With the pair's lightsabers both preoccupied they were easily force pushed back several meters.

Kyp and Lucas skidded to a halt mere inches from one another and met eyes. Kyp could see a question in Lucas's eyes. Who was going to get up first? Lucas being younger and more spry began to shoot up from his prone position until Kyp reached out and snagged the apprentices ankle from under him. With Lucas back at square one Kyp easily backed up and stood. Kyp rose his lightsaber to defend Anakin but realized that he was in the air, poised to bring his lightsaber down onto Lucas. Kyp reached his hand out and pushed the apprentice away as Anakin came flying down with his lightsaber held straight downwards.

A look of bewilderment crossed his face as he found nothing but marble and air beneath his lightsaber. Anakin's turned to face Kyp as the two moved into one another. The two Jedi Master's found one another in the middle and a sudden flurry of strikes and swipes ensued. During that moment Kyp was unsure whether saving Lucas was such a good idea. Behind Anakin he saw the Jedi Apprentice and he didn't like it one bit.

the man guided her out of the club, and they walked in silence a few levels lower, to an old grouping of warehouses in the industrial district. It was darker still the lower they went. Tseneca, in a daze, clung to her clothes. The man wasn't emmett, she'd no idea why she had thought that. It was the air in the club, must have been. the air out here was fresher, but not so much that her head cleared.

She caught a glimpse of him in the limelight. Tall, rugged. He had dirty blonde hair and a slight beard. He caught her eye as he guided her by the arm.

Im being kidnapped. she thought, matter of factly and with little attatched emotion.... what was in the alcohol? I'm going to be led into a store room, to beaten and taken advantage of.

The man pulled her into one of the rooms, a shabby apartement of some sort, and shut the door behind the both of them...

Lucas felt the Force push aside, watching Anakin fall short of his intended mark. A smirk crossed his face when he planned his next move, but it would take a little time to pull off. He watched the blades meet and dance as Kyp and Anakin fought each other. Their footwork moved as though a dance, advancing and surrendering ground. The Force flowed to each of them, warning and adjusting their wrists to block and attack their opponent. Thoughts of who had the upper hand would be quickly reversed, as suddenly, the other Master had it.

Anakin did well, living up to the Solo-Jedi name. He would've made his Uncle proud, the Grand Master of them all. Lucas knew now was the time, using the Force to lift a large metal swab from the wall. It took considerable effort to balance it, just carefully enough to run alongside the pavement, and behind Anakin. Igniting his lightsaber, while keeping the metal exactly where he wanted it, was probably the most difficult of it all. Acting as though he was about to strike his Master's back, the Force sent emotional adrenaline, causing Anakin to pivot and slam his lightsaber into the metal slab.

A normal, and fully powered saber, would've cut right through it. But with the dramatic reduction of the hue, it was caught half way through. Anakin gruffed, "Clever," before Lucas used it to his advantage. Spinning the slab, he sent it flying across the pavement, the marble scratching as it went. While the Temple looked a little beat up, nothing a couple hours of droid elbow grease, before it would shine like new again. Lucas used the confusion to twist and meet Durron. Lucas was in full motion now, taking the energy and the lessons from Anakin, and tweaking them to his own style. He fought better this way.

Time had taught Durron more, but a successful padawan, could at least deflect and defend his ground, usually. Lucas held his ground, but the two weeks he had seen Durron fight, Lucas had always been watching. Something of a "what is he doing, that I can do". He had to keep moving, whether he liked it or not, the speed and the game, would have to tire. Since the beginning of their duel, they had climbed a load of stairs. Now at the brink of the balcony, a field of column tops scattered before them. Lucas eyed them, and Durron seemed to know what he was thinking.

Using the Force and sudden surge in his lightsaber, Lucas was able to get the Jedi Master to the tops of the columns. They were like stones across a pond, except in this scenario, if you touched the water, a plummet to the ground, possibly fatal. It didn't matter, the game had been set. Lucas had the unpleasant experience of falling a long distance, and though this particular fall was much shorter than the cliff Anakin and him dove off of, the Force had broken the fall dramatically. Lucas was beyond convinced that should they miss step on the way to the otherside, the man would be able to catch himself.

As the pair hopped and jumped to different columns spread about, their lightsabers would occasionally touch, but here, it was a matter of Force blasts. The greatest test of versatility. One moment, they'd be in a clash of blue hues, the next dodging and disbursing the Force... The only thing Lucas hadn't accounted for, was Anakin. Who judging by the Force, was a little pissed off, and ready to prove it...

The man's name was Sethe Bhren, or so he told her as he settled her into a chair. Tseneca, still in her underthings, hugged her clothes to her chest and the cape he had given her further around her shoulders.

He removed his cloak, shaking out his hair and revealing himself, a strongly built close to her age.

She looked around. Yes, it was an apartment, but a shabby one, ill furnished and dark. It was made like a storage shed, durasteel walls pelted together with rivets, and a skylight revealing the lights of the above levels of coroscant, what passed as a the evening sky.

She felt dizzy, and nauseous. She bent forward in an effort to squelch the waves of sickness she felt. The man Sethe lit the small glowlamp that sat in the middle of the table, then moved to a cooler. He passed her a bottle and she looked at it warily.

"oh please." He said, not unkindly. "Your telling me that after all the potentially dangerous drinks you had at that club you wont take another bottle." When she didn't respond, he said. "Its Camo juice. It'll clear your head."

It did, when she could finally get it down. They were quiet for a while while her senses came back.

"Who are you?" She asked, finally able to speak over the ringing in her head.

He took a seat close to her and leaned forward on his knees. "Im... nobody really."

"Then why are you helping me?"

He looked her in the eyes. In the dark light of the glow lamp they looked like black coals. "I watched you since you came in to the club. You didn't seem like the type. and then, of course, there's this."

He placed a sheet of paper on the table in front of her. There, in full color, was a picture of she, and Lucas, Jonas and Firi. There was an exorbatant amount of credits written above the pictures. It was a warrent. She felt her breathe catch in her throat.

Sethe sat back. "Its a good price, I should mention. Nico sprung it privately in most black marketed sectors of the galaxy. Your a wanted woman, not to mention your friends."

So that was it? Vera Nico had put a bounty on their heads. not a sanctioned bounty but every blacklisted convict and criminal and backwater planet would be looking for them. Thank the force they had gotten out of Nar Shadda when they did.

"You should also know that Fellucian Brandy doesnt come with a depth of Absinthe. Unless the Absinthe is a non-lethal intoxicant/pshycotrope."

"Someone tried to poison me?" Tseneca started.

"Someone did poison you. Were you not just on the stage of a gentlemans club stripping your clothes off? And did you not just read the price on your head. Do you think your haircut was going to make you unrecognizable?"

Tseneca was suddely leery of the danger she was in. "And what about you? Whats your angle in all of this?"

To Kyp moving about the pillars felt like a game of Dejaric. With each move, dozens of new possibilities sprouted up. Kyp pounced onto the next pillar and then quickly the next as Lucas swung out. The pair stood on neighboring pillars and exchanged swings. With little room on each of the tops each Jedi was forced to think through each move. If one were to fall it would definitely be unpleasant. Kyp saw Lucas recoil his legs to jump forward. Kyp glanced felt for the next pillar top and hopped back. The two clashed lightsabers in the air.

Anakin raced into the fight but Kyp had no intention of fight two armed opponents on the pillar tops. Kyp lashed out with his lightsaber at Lucas and began to spin around. By the time he had came around his cloak had already been easily pulled free from his arms and was now a projectile itself. The move caught the Jedi apprentice off guard as he ripped the cloak off his head. Kyp jumped forward and delivered a swift kick to Lucas's side. The Jedi apprentice got the cloth off his head in time to grasp the edge of pillar and lash upwards at Kyp.

Kyp moved back and started to head to the other end of the pillars. Kyp risked a look backwards to see Lucas easily pulling himself back up onto the pillar. Anakin however had been ripping tiles from the roof. Each tiles was the size of a dinner table. Kyp bounded off the pillars and back onto solid ground as three of the tiles were sent his way.

The first of the three was twisting end over end. Kyp reached out and simply stopped the tile. The two others were hardly noticeable as they flew parallel to the ground. Kyp jumped over the first but only narrowly missed the second as it skimmed mere inches over his head. The last two crashed into and through glass partitioning off an area of the temple that was seeing renovation.

Kyp rushed past the crowd and into the construction area. Inside the power for the lighting had yet to be hooked up. It was darkened inside but any Jedi would be able to see his surroundings. Kyp raced to the far end and passed through a gateway. In this room lay durasteel pipes and i-beams. For a moment Kyp was curious what was being constructed here. It didn't matter. The construction crews would be busy in the morning though.

Kyp knew his Jedi counterparts were now coming off the pillars as he lifted two of the i-beams and hurtled them back towards the pair. Once each i-beam was flying Kyp reached out in the force and snatched up ten of the durasteel pipes, each only a inch in diameter, and positioned eight of them above the door. The last two Kyp tossed for good measure and awaited whoever was going to be first through the doorway. Once they were inside he'd pull the pipes down and into the ground, effectively cutting off one of the two from the fight.

"That depends." Sethe said, sitting back again in his chair. "do you have a reason why I shouldn't just seize you for a quarter of the bounty? or torture you into revealing where your friends are?"

Tseneca gave him a seething look. "I don't owe you an explaination, especially if you were to do what you threaten regardless."

"Then we seem to be at a stand still." Sethe crossed his arms and the two looked at each other in silence.

Tseneca was more than a little confused. He had dragged her out of the club, and for what? To shelter her? to hold her for the bounty? It was impossible to tell, especially now that he's given that epithet.

She felt a wave of nausea take hold of her and she rushed to a window, and was sick out of it, what little food she'd eaten plummetting two levels below onto artificial pavement. She put her head to the cool glass and felt Sethe's hands guide her away. She shook him off and struggled to pull on her clothes, eyeing the door.

"Its probably best that you stay here." The man said. Tseneca wasnt sure if he was giving her a choice or what. He led her to the single bed and she sat, watching as he reclined in a chair on the other side of the room, facing her. "You'll feel better after you get some sleep."

Some bounty hunter, some strange way of checkmate. Tseneca lay down on the mattress and relaxed with her eyes half closed, watching the man as he settled in for the night.

Later, as the night entered the very wee hours of the morning, once she had deemed the man to be fast asleep in the chair, she dressed fully, took his cloak to cover herself, and slipped out of the apartement. She made her way back to the Jedi Temple, checking behind her to make sure she was not followed. As far as she knew the man was still asleep in his chair.

But Seth Bhren was not asleep. He'd seen the woman slip from the room and out the door and had held his position as the slumbering night watch.

We will meet again Tseneca Fink. Thought he. Of that you can be certain

Sara walked the morning streets of Coruscant, a small null in sound as the population shifted from night to day. She raised her head as she marveled the planetwide city, it’s towering buildings glistening in the morning sun. It was the calm before the hellhole, she thought, We’ll be back on the chase for Nico soon enough. Something seemed strange about the way people looked at her, but she ignored it. She thought back to Shawn, probably still on Kashyyyk waiting for her return. She had to follow Badim, she couldn’t see him or she would have given her identity away too soon. She made a mental promise to return to Kashyyyk one day when they were nearby and able too.

The sun began to rise higher into the sky, casting for glitter on the buildings. She didn’t even pay attention to anything around her, until she bumped into someone in front of her. The two fell to the ground, Sara looking herself over to ensure she was fine, then to the woman she had knocked over.
“Sorry about that--” Sara said, sudden realizing who the woman was, “Tseneca? What are you doing out here?”

Finding a moment of quiet, Firi and Dex took it upon themselves to explore a little of the planet on which they found themselves. Neither had ever before seen a cityscape so enormous, filled so with the bustling of many different peoples and species. Firi had caught the excitement straight off, and positively bounced off the walls of the ship to explore it. Dex, less excited and more tentative about such a large place, consented. What else was he to do?

They found themselves in a bustling quarter, radiant with nightlife; music, street performers, even cheap amusement rides. Firi, well cloaked to hide the opalescent soft glow of her skin, stood wide eyed in the wonder of it. She gripped Dex's hand, pulling him this way and that to look at things.

They stopped at a kiosk where Firi wanted to try a Para-roll. The Dornean proprietor glared at Dex as he stepped up to purchase one.

"5 credits" The Dornean growled. His walrus-like face tilting upwards smugly.

"What!?" Dex started. "Thats rediculous!"

"Oh, its okay Dex. I have enough." Firi reached into her purse to meet the bill, but Dex caught her arm and steered her away.

He smiled warmly down at her. "I know you haven't been too many places since you left Iego," He began. "But most Para rolls are not worth 5 credits. Lets go find you some dinner that wont cost us half a months pay."

They walked further along the boulevard, Halting to gawp at things neither he nor Firi had seen before. A few times, Firi grew careless in her excitement and let her hood fall back. Dex pulled it forward, back over her forehead.

"We still have to be careful." He reminded her. "there's not many who wouldn't hesitate to take you for themselves."

She pulled the hood down further, but looked at him teasingly. "Isn't that so?"

Dex blushed, and they continued walking. Taking their dinner in a cafe with seating outside.

They chatted, between bites of strange food neither of them had ever tasted. They talked about their childhoods, very different in context but similar in small ways. They were alike in personality, and though Firi was older by more than eighty years, both were exiting their adolescence at the same time. What they dealt with in that coming of age was to similar to ignore.

Halfway through their conversation, listening to firi, Dex looked over at the dining counter of the Cafe. The owner, a heavy set Duro was talking quickly with a heavily clothed figure. The Duro's eyes darted back and forth between the man with whom he was speaking and Dex and Firi. Firi turned slightly to see what Dex was looking at.

"What is it?" She asked softly. Dex shook his head watching as the Duro indicated their table.

"I don't know but we'd better move on." He took Firi by the hand and they swiftly and casually slipped out of the Cafe.

Dex turned back as they headed back down the pramenade. The shadowed figure had exited the cafe now as well, trailing after them like a heat seaking missile...

Tseneca picked herself up and looked at Sara, who had come out of nowhere, quite unexpectedly.

"Small city planet." Tseneca mumbled as Sara helped her up. Tseneca flatered a bit, woozy still, like a fever had come from whatever she'd taken in the night. She looked back again, to make sure she wasn't being follwed by Sethe. There was no sign of him.

"Are you okay?" Sara asked looking concerned.

Tseneca tried to shake off the cloudiness that closed in on her mind. "Fine, fine." Her words were slurred now, she winced. "We have to... there's a problem..."

"What problem?"

Tseneca took her arm and guided her to where the temple sat, a block from where theyd run into each other. Tseneca tried to explain as best she could, tripping over her tied tongue and trying her damndest not to faint outright. She wasn't sure how much Sara understood, but they mounted the steps to the great hall and were greeted by Jedi sentries who led them to where Lucas was deep in conference with Anakin and Kyp.

They came through the door, all three jedi turning and looking at them, somewhat startled.

"Lucas... theres a problem." Tseneca managed to unpocket the copy of the bounty warrent she'd stolen from Sethe, and hand it to him before completely losing consciousness.

Dex and Firi wove their way through the marketplace, Dex turning back once or twice to see where the shadow man was. He was always two steps behind them, no matter how they tried to lose him.

"We cant go back to the ship." Firi whispered, slightly out of breath. "We'll lead him right to it."

Dex nodded, gripping her hand. "The others are at the Temple... I'm not sure if we can get that far before..." He turned back again. The shadow man dodged between vendors and kiosks, heading toward them.

"Before what?" Firi asked. "What could he possibly want?" She sounded panicked and he pressed his hand to the small of her back, both comforting her and pushing her along. "I don't know, I don't know." He tried to hide the panic in his own voice. A figure like that wouldn't be chasing after them in the early hours of the morning just to say hello. There was something sinister about him.

Dex led Firi down one of the cities corridors, then into an alleyway ajacent to one of the mill buildings. They could always drop a level if they needed to get away, maybe that would lose their pursuer.

They rounded a corner, and came face to face with a blast steel linked fence.

"Uh oh." Dex hissed through his teeth.

"Dex..." He turned at the sound of Firi's hushed whisper. The shadow man stood at the entrance of the alleyway....

Sara tried to make sense of what Tseneca was saying, she must have been pretty drunk, she couldn’t understand a word she was saying. All she could do was let Tseneca lead her to the Jedi Temple. But why the Jedi Temple? She must not have been informed of something, either that or she was meeting Lucas and Kyp inside. They followed the Temple security guards as Tseneca continued to talk in a more whispered tone. It must be important if she was still trying to make sense of her words. They walked up to Lucas, Kyp and Master Anakin Solo, surprised at their sudden arrival. Tseneca gathered herself, trying to get a few words out, “Lucas… there’s a problem.” She managed to say, then pulled a sheet of paper from her pocket; Sara only getting a glimpse of some credit symbols on it, and the faces of Jonas, Firi, Lucas and Tseneca. A bounty.

Tseneca promptly fell to the floor in unconsciousness. Something must have gone terribly wrong with her during the night. Sara tried to grab her before she hit the ground, but it happened so suddenly she couldn’t do anything but watch her fall. She instantly dropped to her knees and checked her pulse, alive still. Lucas and Kyp reacted and came to help their friend. Lucas using the force to grab the sheet of paper from the floor, then grimacing at it.

Lucas and Anakin fought between one another as the progressed to Kyp's location. Each strike echoed through the hall as if the two Jedi were wielding pure lightning. The four projectiles raced towards the pair with deadly accuracy. The pair found one each others blades in the tangled swirl of plasma and locked the two sabers. Lucas pumped his legs and arms and in turn his Master's blade came free only seconds before the I-beams careened over their heads. Following close behind were the pipes which were easily dodged. A crash and startled yelps resounded from the far end of the hall as the projectiles came to a rest near the Jedi onlookers. Lucas raced forward ahead of Anakin into Kyp's trap. The steel bars came crashing down behind him as Kyp ignited his lightsaber in the darkness and the two blue blades met in a brilliant display of light and sound.

Lucas moved forward and brought his lightsaber down in a windmill fashion and connected with Kyp's. The next few strikes reversed the movement back and forth for both the master and the apprentice. In an actual fight each blow if not parried or blocked effectively could easily eviscerate the targets innards. Kyp brought their movement to a halt and worked in a clockwise circle around Lucas before receiving a firm kick from the apprentice. Kyp felt the wind knocked out of his but easily caught himself and flipped to land securely on his feet.

By this time Anakin had seen enough of the fight and wanted apart of it. Kyp heard the sound of metal bouncing on the floor as his fellow Jedi Master cut through the bars and headed into the fight. It wasn't planned for but Kyp took it in stride as Lucas forced Kyp backward and further into the darkness. An emerald lightsaber streaked through the air and both Jedi temporarily moved away from one another to duck. Anakin had thrown his lightsaber much like Lucas had on Denon but he would be unarmed if only temporarily. Kyp pushed Lucas back with his own lightsaber as Anakin's streaked back to it's owner. With a great deal of power Kyp pushed Anakin backwards which in turn sent his lightsaber crashing to the floor. Before Kyp could bring the lightsaber to himself Lucas pushed out with the force. Kyp found himself thrown back and skidding to a halt on the dusty floor. Lucas who was only a few meters away had retrieved his master's blade in his left hand and seemed hell bent on bringing the fight to Kyp.

Two lightsabers streaked in front of Kyp in high and mid height arcs. The two Jedi moved their lightsabers in a twirl just outside of each others reach. Kyp bit his lip and moved in and connected easily with a green saber which had been swung in a high horizontal strike. Lucas' blade came with a stabbing motion aimed at his face. Kyp moved his head to the left to dodge the stab and right after ducked again to avoid the new motion to decapitate him. Kyp reached out with and connected with his palm to the apprentice's chest and allowed the force to flow through it as well increasing the concussive force of the blow.

Lucas flew back but had held fast to both lightsabers. Kyp raced forward as Lucas was regaining his feet and swung over the top. Lucas blocked the strike with a blue saber and brought Anakin's saber in towards Kyp's right. Kyp ducked and caught the next blow which was aimed at his leg. With his lightsaber upside down Kyp forced the green blade up and over to his left. With both Jedi's blades preoccupied Kyp took his only option and brought his knee high and into Lucas's sternum. The apprentice gasped for air as Kyp brought his right fist in to strike his face. Kyp was going for the knockout before Lucas managed to stand up in time to dodge the blow. With the missed blow Kyp let his momentum carry him into a spin on his right leg. Lucas was still off balance from his sudden movement as Kyp let the back of his left leg trip the Jedi apprentice to the floor. Kyp managed to wrench Anakin's lightsaber from Lucas as he fell. With a spin for effect the Jedi Master brought the tip of Anakin's green blade inches from Lucas's face. Kyp held his own lightsaber out towards Anakin who had been watching from the shadows.

Both Kyp and Lucas were panting as they each tried to catch their breath. In between inhales Kyp managed to slip one word out. “Yield.” Lucas face grimaced with defeat and let his lightsaber slip back into it's hilt. Kyp did the same for Anakin's blade before tossing it to the hidden Jedi Master. Kyp pulled Lucas's own blade from his hand and ignited it. Kyp snapped to a defensive posture. He wasn't sure the fight was over till Anakin came out of the deeper shadows with his lightsaber still inactive.

Anakin attached his lightsaber to his belt as Kyp handed Lucas back his own. The trio brushed themselves off and wiped the sweat from their foreheads before Anakin spoke up, “I think it's for the best. I'd love to beat the dust off ya old man but I think the Jedi Temple has taken enough damage as it is.”

Old man? Kyp put his hand on the hilt of his blade again, “Not old to get beat by you, that's for sure." Kyp let his hand slide away and folded his arms. "Is that how you treat you father. If I'm old, he must be ancient.” Kyp knew if Han had heard that remark himself he would be in for it. “Don't tell him I said that.”

Lucas rubbed his chest the same as Kyp was. A Jedi's boot was not what he had planned to feel on his chest of the rest of the day. “You didn't have to knee so hard,” Lucas said as he peered down his tunic to eye the marks left on his chest.

Kyp arched his back and rubbed a growing bruise as the base of his spine. “And if I hadn't you'd probably would have won.” Kyp wasn't sure if the statement was true, it could have turned out a million different ways. Lucas regardless of the loss today would be one hell of a Master someday. There was no doubt in Kyp's mind that he would succeed where both Anakin and Kyp would fail.

The trio followed their own trail of destruction back. The I-beam and pipes lay bent out of shape, a metal slab lay crashed on the floor, tiles had been thrown and broken, a cooling conduit lay smashed on the floor of the temple, and despite the destruction it seemed like an everyday exercise. The crowd that had grown to dozen slowly dispersed back to their original duties.

Each of the Jedi filed into a meditation room adorned with a peaceful view of the Coruscanti Skyline. In the room sat ten circular pedestals large enough for a human to easily sit on with legs crossed. Each of the Jedi took a seat next to each other and allowed themselves to relax. The mood of the room changed as each exited their tense state and transitioned into a relaxed one.

Imma leave it off here. If you'd like we can talk about any one of the problems or events that has happened over the course of Kyp's stay. If not then we'll proceed to the part where Tseneca passes out all hungover on the floor.

Lucas traced over his wounds, the duel replaying in his mind several times. In some areas, he could've done better. It didn't matter, it had become one of his favorite memories. Two of his living heroes panting and smiling just as big as he was. Master Durron and Anakin returned to the chamber, all three coasting the damage wrought by their engagement. Droids were already dispatched, the ceiling and ripped away wall pieces were being re-attached and fresh coats of paint applied where needed. An hour from now, and not even Grand Master Skywalker would be able to tell the difference.

It was then Tseneca and Sara emerged. Tseneca looked as though she had been through hell and back, and the smell surrounding her body was the worst he had ever inhaled. He coughed, attempting to sense what the hell she had been through. It was dark, whatever it was. "Lucas, theres a problem," before she fainted onto the floor. No one caught her, though Sara tried. Lucas was shocked, almost embarrassed at the sight of the woman. He had just went blade to blade with two most well respected Jedi, and her first impression, was an alcoholic disaster. And it didn't help she was holding a bounty with their names on it. Thanks Nico.

Lucas had never been labelled as a target, but most of the Jedi, at least the notable ones, had. It would be a nuisance, but not the end of the world. Anakin, on the otherhand, didn't seem to like it at all. "I have a bad feeling about this." He mumbled.

Lucas watched as the medic arrived, heaving Tseneca onto the hover scooter, before she was off to the medical bay. He wasn't sure if he'd forgive her, the darkness was beginning to seep into her soul. Every Jedi could sense it. It was like a virus, and the longer it lingered here, the more attention it brought. "Master Durron, you've been around her. What do you think? You think she'll overcome it?"

Lucas tread carefully on the topic, not wanting to seem heartless. He was still a little peeved and angry about their argument, and her drunken apology wasn't enough to defrost him. Anakin shook both of their hands, parting momentarily to unravel the bounty. In the meantime, Lucas would discuss the options and the events recently passed.

Kyp watched the medical crew haul Tseneca off to the med bay. All she needed was a warm bed and plenty of liquids to get back on her feet. The bounties placed on their heads would definitely bring attention to their movements. Kyp was sure that was what his attacker had been speaking of when he said, "They'll pay."

"Master Durron, you've been around her. What do you think? You think she'll overcome it?" Would she? Kyp was starting to wonder if he should prepare for the worse.

"That depends. Perhaps she doesn't want to overcome her problem. For years she's been hanging on by a thread because she thought that she wasn't alone in the galaxy. She held onto this Emmett's memory and Nico went and destroyed it in only moments." Kyp rubbed his eyes and leaned back onto a neighboring wall. "She's a strong woman but even the best of us can be swayed into darkness," Kyp said partially referring to himself. "If she reaches the breaking point, she may force my hand."

Kyp was sure Lucas knew what he meant and he hoped it wouldn't come to that. "We have to give her reason to return to the light. For a budding force sensitive she may not know the difference." Kyp sat back up and did his best to lighten the mood with little success.

"What is the deal with Nico anyways? Perhaps I am just way out of the loop. What is her history with the Blight Leaper?"

Dex pushed Firi behind him, facing the shadow man with a blaster in hand.

"What do you want?" Dex asked, his voice strong. Firi shivered beneath the folds of her cloak, unable to draw the strengh to hum the way she would had an army of beasts attacked her hovel back on Iego. This was an entirely different kettle of fish.

The figre made a chortling noise, a whistle. It was a kubaz, clothed and goggled, its snout covered in protective leather.

"Please." Dex asked again, levelly. "Tell us why you are following us, what is it you want."

The Kubaz lifted a blas tec and a tazing rod, as if to offer the two of them a choice. Firi took in her breath. She felt Dex tense further. It was dead or alive.

The Kubaz charged forward, and Dex acted on instinct, blocking the rod with his arm and ducking under the creature, drawing him away from Firi, now crouched against the fence. She hadn't thought to bring a weapon, didnt know if her powers would work on the alien. She cowered then, and watched as Dex and the Kubaz met in combat.

They fought, The Kubaz taking stabs with the rod, even as Dex knocked the blaster from his grip. After a moment of tussel, Dex managed to take the rod as well taking it in hand. He forced the Kubaz against the wall with unusual strength bracing the creature with his forarm clutching the rod. His right hand held the blaster, barral against Kubaz snout.

"Hi chuba da naga? Who sent you?" Dex asked, his voice adrenaline charged. Firi had never seen him act as such. It was as if underneath the boy had blossomed a man of some kind. A protector.

When the Kubaz didn't answer, Dex raised his voice. pushing his blaster further up into the Kubaz sinus region. A trigger happy amatuer coulf fire off a round straight into the creatures brains if given the chance.

The Kubaz squeeked a reply, if not frightened, merely concerned for his well being. With his clawed hands slow, he revealed a paper on the inside of his jacket.

"Firi..." Dex nodded toward the jacked, imploring her to retrieve the paper. It was a warrent for arrest of the leaper crew, specifically Jonas, Firi, Lucas and Tseneca. Her hands trembled as she read it to Dex.

"Roachee mah bom bom, cheespa kreespa, Kung" Dex hissed to the Kubaz, then took a moment to strike him with the tazing rod. The alien yelped and convulsed, falling to the ground unconscious.

"What did you say to him?" Firi asked, looking down at the still pile of clothing.

"Its best not to repeat it." Dex took her arm and guided her out of the alleyway. "He's lucky i didn't kill him."

Firi looked at him deeply. "I'm glad you didn't."

He gazed back in silence. They continued to walk.

"We can't go back to the ship." Firi continued. "We'll be sought after."

Dex nodded. "The others are at the Temple, at least Tseneca and Lucas are. We'll find safety there. We have to tell them about this."

With that said, the two headed to the Jedi Temple.

Hope you don't mind, I always thought Garinden should have had a bigger part in the movies, he's my favorite. So I chose a Kubaz for that effect. Go ahead and allow Firi and Dex into your posts. I'll post with Tseneca after Alex posts with Lucas. :D

"What is the deal with Nico anyways? Perhaps I am just way out of the loop. What is her history with the Blight Leaper?"

The Jedi walked in silence, allowing Lucas to collect his thoughts on what Durron had implied. If Tseneca had chosen the dark side, Durron would have to kill her, Lucas wouldn't be able to do it. It was plain, but it was far from simple. Tseneca had become a major part of his life, whether he would admit that now or not. The last two and half months brought them close to each other. It was difficult to watch her, but not as hard as it was to sense her. He could feel the pain twisting and mutilating her spirit.

"Nico," Lucas said aloud finally, their walk had brought them to the archive section, passing nonchalantly as they made their way towards the visitor's entrance. His mind made the switch to the lighter subject, "Do you remember Senator Della Donna?"

Master Durron scoffed, "Who wouldn't. The man had his trousers down for anyone... or anything." It was true, the man was well known for his scandals, but less known for the amount of slave girls he had delivered to his senate room. In fact, no one really had any idea, except his staff, until Nico blew the lid. What was left of the Senator and the staff members who knew... a boar in a rancor pit looked like heaven in a hand basket compared to what Nico did to them.

"I was assigned to investigate and arrest her," Lucas answered, recalling the mandate from the Jedi Council. It was the first operation where he didn't have Anakin riding over his shoulder all the time. "Tracked her to a cantina on Corellia. The whole charade went down, with over a dozen undercover agents from all over the galaxy emerging left and right. It was insane." He laughed, "I met Tseneca there, I managed to get her to track Nico to Iego..."

The events of the planet flooded him, from the melody of the angels and the crash, to the demon's horde and their blazing escape. Lucas recanted many of these events, describing how Nico foiled many of their attempts to escape the planet. He added the fact Nico saved Firi, just before putting a blaster bolt across Jonas.

"It began a long time ago, for me, actually." Lucas admitted, "She's been sort of the villain to my mother's career. She hates the nobility of our homeworld, but hasn't been back since the trial. Not sure why. Sorta taking it out on the rest of the galaxy, I guess." Lucas wrapped it up. He wasn't sure if Durron had any questions, but that was when Firi and Dex emerged around the corner. Funny how timing worked out, even on the planet where trillions of people were in motion.

"What happened?" Lucas inquired, a little worried by their spooked persona.

"We have a problem." Dex said without interlude, showing Lucas the paper.

"So we've been told" Lucas' voice was dry and without feeling. Dex wondered if he was still upset about what had happened between Tseneca and himself.

"So what are we going to do about it?" Dex put on an air of petulance. This wasn't about him, and he was certain the others can take care of themselves, but what about Firi? If any one hurt her...

"There's nothing we can do." Kyp said, his voice deliberate. He was trying to calm him down, maybe using some of those sith forsaked jedi tricks. Dex was smarter then that, Drekka had taught him better. The older Jedi continued. "You'll all stay here. As long as your in the temple your safe."

Lucas suddenly looked alarmed. "Jonas. What about Jonas? Does anyone know where he went?"

Kyp shook his head no. "Tseneca didn't say anything about where he might have gone."

Firi perked up. "Tseneca's here? Where?"

Lucas looked dark again. "The infirmiry. Passed out drunk. You can visit her if you want but I wouldn't reccomend it."

"Regardless." Firi said, giving Lucas a look that Dex interpreted as disappointment over his pettiness. She left, escorted by one of the temple Jedi.

Dex made an impatient sound in the back of his throat. "We need to fix this." He shoved the paper in Kyps hands.

Firi slipped into the med hall quietly, trying not to disturb the infirmed. She was happy to be rid of her cloak, able now to stretch her wings, her arms, without being confined by the soft glow of her skin.

She found Tseneca resting in the sunny corner of the infirmary, asleep still, her eyes moving in and out of REM. Firi looked at the healer, a Female Mon Calamari named Cilghal. The the healer was adjusting a bacta drip and offered Firi a seat near the window by Tseneca's bed.

"She's asleep now." Cilghal said softly.

"What happened?" Firi asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

"When they brought her in they said she was drunk. Certainly there was enough alchohol in her, but it looks as if she took in a draught of something more malicious. A drug of some kind."

"She was poisoned." Firi started. Alarmed.

Cilghal gave a nod. "I managed to stop it from moving around in her bloodstream before it rendered her comatose. I think, tho, that the bacta will flush it out of her system. She'll be right as rain in a day or so, after withdrawls, most certainly. She took quite a dose."

The Jedi looked thoughtful of something, slightly troubled, but shook her head and moved on to her other patients, leaving Firi to sit with her friend.

Firi sat back. Something had been so wrong with Tseneca lately. It reminded her so much of the depression she'd sunk into during the month after Aquar's death. She wished she could help the older woman, wished she could draw her out.

She hummed a little, letting the notes roll off the back of her throat, the tip of her nose in a steady stream.

Tseneca was dreaming. Or thought she was.

In her mind, she'd realized that the a more sinister side of the force was beckoning her to and fro. In the center of that storm, the eye in which Kyp Durron had taught her to take solace and observe, She was begginning to feel uprooted. The glittering light, the stings and threads of hope and comfort were breaking down. She could see through them, even as an inky black... thing penetrated the cracks in the weave. It was as if she were in a room of stone, where cracks formed and a dark liquid seeped through.

She could see Lucas looking at her with dissapointment, concern, even fear. She could see the cold interrogative stare of Kyp, the aloof tenderness of Firi as they watched her. She felt as thought she was disintigrating. She felt a hopeless settling in.

"Go away." She heard herself say, even as she slipped deeper inside the cocoon.

The visions broke way to a notion of Emmett. Cradling her, then, her arms outstreatched as he fell, plummeting deeper into a bottomless cavern.

And then that dark place once again, where she held her swollen belly, protecting herself and the unborn against the forces that called her "she-demon" and beckoned her into their filthy jagged jaws.

The sound of lilting music came toward her, as she, in her mind place, crouched in the eye of the storm that leaked darkness. The music came forward, a saphire light, and worked steadily to fill the cracks where the darkness sought her. Tseneca breathed a heavy breath, as if a weight was being lifted off of her lungs. She closed her minds eye, trying to help the tinkling of sound sew up the cracks...

Firi, Dex, Lucas and Kyp were all suddenly worried about Jonas, with the bounty being on his head as well and all. She felt her heart beat in what trouble he could have gotten into, if he was alive or not even. She—She didn’t know if she had feelings for the man, he was a few years younger than her, but that didn’t matter. She would feel horrible in any case if something happened to him, whether she had feelings for him or not.

“I’ll find him.” Sara said boldly as she made her way to the Temple’s exit. Lucas turned, almost about to mouth a word, but realizing what she had already known, She didn’t have a bounty on her head. She would even be able to pose as a bounty hunter with the sheet of paper she now held. She’d find him, she knew it.

The dining room was filled with Jedi, some returning from travels from the other side of the galaxy, and others fresh from their own training. Gossip swirled on the duel between Anakin Solo and Kyp Durron, two legendary masters of their time. His own name popped up several times, including a few back slaps from padawans his age. "Well done,"s from the older Jedi. He picked out a plate full of grub, supposedly a replicated Hoth-experience. A combination of frozen and strange ice-world fauna-meat. It was an acquired taste, but Lucas was starving enough not to second-guess his tastebuds.

He had parked himself next to Dex who seemed equally hungry. "So, how are things with Firi?" Lucas asked harmlessly, hinting as though he wanted more details than a simple answer could provide.

Dex finished a fork of vegetables, before saying, "All right. She's great. I like being with her." Lucas raised his eyebrow, "Talking and all." The clarification wasn't needed, Lucas predicted Firi was somewhat of a prude when it came to sex. But when it did happen, she was likely to unleash the raw inner beast. Lucas smirked at this particular thought, not sure if the criminal sidekick to a Hutt could handle the nature of the Iego-born minx. "What?"

Lucas shook his head, "It's nothing. I just think you should be careful. She might scream and kill us all." The voice of the angels had a strange effect on people, and Lucas didn't want to be in earshot when the magic started happening. Dex pushed the rest of his food aside, the appetite disappearing. "oh come on, I was just joking." Anakin Solo appeared, the expression on his face meant things weren't good.

"Your face has made quite the impact. Nico's never really posted a bounty before." Solo scooped a bread piece from Lucas' plate, taking a bit, before spitting it out. "Uck! What is on that?"

"Freeze-dried booga worms. It's Hoth-inspired." Lucas pointed to the menu, taking the leftover piece and plopping it into his mouth. It was the worst thing he had ever tasted, but to save face, he swallowed it any ways and flashed a grin. He reminded himself to vomit later.

"Any ways," Anakin didn't trust anything else from the plate, instead, putting his hands into his lap, "It might be best for you to stay on Coruscant, specifically, the Temple." Lucas groaned. The nightlife! Lucas thought, dreaming of all the fun he'd be missing out on. Anakin seemed to know what he was thinking, "No." Lucas groaned, scooping a large spoon of wombii beetles into his mouth and crunched...

Tseneca worked desperately to thread the seams of light together, struggling to make her cocoon airtight against the darkness seeping through. The music helped her keep it together, enough so that she could concentrate on gathering her bearings and finding ground.

Her head filled with visions of Lucas, Jonas, Kyp, Firi, Badim... all of them, the ones she dared call her family. She didn't want to break from them, needed to hang onto them. She saw emmett's face before her, and without feeling the traitorous twinge of disappointment and loss, saw him telling her to hang on. She saw Kyp... Looking down on her with that stern look of his, bidding her to take back control of her mind and body.

She pulled the strings of light together, cementing the whirlwind around her...

Firi continued to sing, and even Cilghal had stopped her duties to come and help. She laid hands on Tsenecas chest, below her breasts.

"Im not sure you can help..." The Jedi whispered.

Firi had no experience in these matters. She knew though, that Tseneca was undergoing a weakness of character, a breaking with the devine spirit. Whatever drugs had been given her during the night had weakened and broken what was left of her self statis.

"The darkness." Cilghal knew what was happening. "Its writhing like octopi in heavy seas. She's producing internal force storms. If it continues longer, i'll have to sedate her..."

"Just... wait. Please?" Firi had paused her singing but continued again, in a tune more heavy handed. Cilghal strode to the wall and used a communicator to page Kyp or any other of the senior Jedi available to help if help was needed.

Tseneca started to quake and shiver, though her eyes were closed. Firi continued to sing holding the womans hand with slender fingers. Firi's glow brightened as she assumed a more natural state. A Diathim state. Tseneca was helping her, she was sure. In the eye of whatever force storm contained her, Tseneca was struggling to tie a protective barrier of the light side of the force around her. She wasn't giving up.

Then, Tseneca relaxed, the quaking ceasing, even as Firi concluded the tumultuous song that poured from her lips.

Tseneca's eyes fluttered open and she exhaled as if breathing for the first time in hours. Her eyes met Firi's and she gave a small, weak smile, Clutching the angel's hand.

"It's only temporary." Cilghal whispered patiently to Tseneca. "You have much to learn in order to abate it. The darkside is a powerful enemy..."

Kyp slid out of Tseneca's room with a new understanding of her condition. She was lucky to have stumbled back to the Jedi Temple. Kyp nodded to Cilghal before he left, trusting Tseneca's well being in her capable hands. With the typical hiss the door sealed itself back into the wall. The area was deserted besides a single youngling standing next to the door.

"Um, Master Durron?" The female child bowed and cracked a smile. She looked like a thrashball player during the loss of two of her baby teeth.

"Yes, young one?" Kyp said as he crouched down to come eye to eye with the youngling.

"I have your robe and the thing you dropped." The girl held out each hand, one holding his robe, folded and freshly washed, and the other holding the tracking beacon.

Kyp had completely forgotten about the beacon. Considering the fight he had with his fellow Jedi it was no surprise. The bounty hunter would surely still have his eyes on Kyp and the Blight Leaper. "Thank you sah wiichi wah."

The girl cocked her head to the left and smiled, "What does that mean?"

"It means sweet young one." Kyp put on his cloak and pocketed the beacon again. Lastly he reached down and scooped the youngling up with one arm. She couldn't be much older than five. As he Kyp adjusted to the extra weight Cilghal came out of Tseneca's room and began to do her runs. She afforded Kyp a glance and what he took as a smile accompanied it. Destroyer of Carida being kind to a child was a sight to behold.

"What's your name young one?" Kyp smiled as he strode out to towards the main hall and out of the medical wing.

"Caileta Varss."

"It's a honor to meet you, Caileta." Kyp reached over with his left hand and shook her hand. "And who is your Master?"

"I am with Master Horn's group," she said as the pair crossed into the main hall. She pointed to Corran Horn and the group of youngling's he was escorting through the Temple. "There they are!"

Kyp let her down and stood back up. The two Jedi Master's never got along when they had first met all those years ago. Nothing had changed since then. "Go ahead and catch up with them. I'm sure Master Horn is worried sick." Kyp watched as the young Jedi ran across and back to her group. She waved goodbye as Kyp turned and went in the opposite direction. He could feel Horn's eye's drilling into the back of his head. "Some day my friend, some day." he muttered before entered the turbolift to take him to the top of the Temple.

Before he could reach the lift his communicator buzzed. He had two on him now that his robe was back. One for the Jedi Order and New Republic and one that Lucas had given him back on Nal Hutta. The less favorable of the two buzzed again before Kyp answered. "Yes?" he said in a slightly annoyed tone.

"Master Durron, the Blight Leaper is requesting permission to land inside the Jedi Temple. We do not have it on record as a Jedi ship. They said to speak to you." The traffic control officer sounded just as annoyed as Kyp was.

"Let them in, however no inspection is needed. The ship belongs to a guest of mine who is currently in the infirmary. Give em' the spot next to the Vigilance."

"Yes, I will make sure they land safely. Thank you, Master Durron." The line cut off as Kyp stepped into the lift and rocketed to the top of the Temple. The only people away were Badim, Clare, Sara, and Jonas. Kyp hoped all of them were okay. Surely they'd be able to handle themselves.

The turbolift slowed to a halt and the doors opened to one of the many security checkpoints through out the Temple. The guards nodded as he past and stepped out into the Coruscanti sun. It was nearly midday as Kyp approached the front edge of the building and sat cross legged near the edge.

Alone but surrounded by millions of people Kyp looked out onto the horizon and recollected all the recent events. Most importantly, Tseneca's fall and his own vision on Denon.
